Great weekend get away.

  • 5 of 5

What a fun and charming place for a get away! My wife and I stayed here for a weekend in July and it was just what we were looking for. It was relaxing and quiet yet only blocks from restaurants, the marina and the beach. The decor is fun and inviting and the patio and yard are nice for a cold beer or glass of wine when the sun drops.

The kitchen was a huge plus for us as we love to cook and felt right at home cooking dinner one of the nights.

The bed was comfortable and we slept like babies.

The best part has to be the shower! Double shower heads each with their own temperature control make it feel like a spa! Seriously, I was blown away as most hotels don't even come close to something like that.

All in all we had a great time and will be back!

My children wants to go back next summer

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful house. Clean, comfy and have all the essentials you need. Spent all day at the beach. Came back in the afternoon to grill and make s'mores, listen to music and play dominos.

The owners are very easy to talk to and accommodating. We had a flight cancellation from Oklahoma and the owners graciously extended our stay without any extra cost.

Colonial Beach is our new favorite place!!

  • 5 of 5

We just visited this past weekend for a few days and this rental was perfect!! We felt right at home, everything we needed was there. The home was cozy and comfortable with plenty of space for the 5 of us. My husband and I slept in the downstairs room and we are used to a firm mattress, the mattress in there was really soft so if anything bothered me, it was the bed but I don't feel a mattress makes or breaks a place!! :) Pretty short walk to the beach, which was so quiet and welcoming, loved the lack of big waves for my 5-year-old. One day we walked, next day we drove and parked right by the beach, only cost us a few dollars. At night we either played games or did puzzles. The last night we walked around town on the marina side to explore and then had s'mores using the provided fire pit, which my 5yo said made it the best way to end a beach weekend! It was definitely the perfect getaway, great beach, wonderful weather, beautiful home...we really didn't want to leave. We all agreed this is our new favorite place for vacation!

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We love Colonial Beach so much & want everyone to have the chance to get to know the area - it is just so special! We love floating and boating and think it is a perfect spot for so many reasons. I think it is funny that you thought the bed was Too Soft - my husband & I can never agree on mattresses - He picked that bed & I think it is Too Firm. I guess the next one will be one of those that you can adjust - though I can see myself up all night just trying to get it right. Smores sound like the perfect closer to me too. Again, we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay - let us know whenever you want to come back. Thank you, Jolynn & Tom

Owner's Response: Amber, We are so glad that you enjoyed your time at our home -and we're glad that you too see what a special place it really is. Our family always enjoys actually interacting during the evenings with the games &/or the fire pit - so many stars and makes family time special without the "usual" distractions. Of course when we "need" distractions we just turn to our movies etc. on our laptops or other devices for entertainment - an easy tether to our phones for all other connections - but we really do try to avoid these whenever possible. Colonial Beach is a wonderful town and we are always so happy to introduce guests to our home and the area and all that it offers. Thanks again and come back whenever you can! Jolynn & Tom

A Special Place!

  • 5 of 5

We first visited Colonial Beach last summer and were immediately hooked. By unanimous decision we have committed to visiting every summer. This year we decided to try a VRBO rental and booked AmaZen: BBB. The rental process was seamless and the homeowner quickly responded to all of our questions.

This is a very unique property with an owner who is committed to providing a comfortable and positive experience to her guests. There were countless small added touches that made us feel at home and even pampered. The cottage was spotless, open, and bright which was appreciated one rainy day which was spent playing board games, talking, listening to music, and reading. The down time was enjoyed by all.

The cottage is in a great location just a few blocks from the river or the bay. We loved exploring via golf cart as did our four legged kiddo. He also enjoyed the fully fenced yard.

This cottage was the perfect setting for our family and added to the great time we had! We will see you next summer!
