About Greg

We built this cabin because we fell in love with Lake O'brien. The cool clean water, wildlife, mature trees and evening fires are some of the features that make our home a wonderful place to "escape" from the stress and daily grind. Sleep with the window open and hear the loons calling in the spring, it is absolutely serene.

Greg purchased this cabin in 2001

Why Greg chose Crosslake

With 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen with plenty of room for family, a workout room and 225 feet of sandy beach, this is the place to go to enjoy your next family gathering. With special prices in the summer, fall and winter, it is the perfect place to get away with someone special for a long weekend and relax in front of the stone fireplace.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We loved our stay, there was plenty of room for all to do their own thing. It is a great place to have our family together in one place. The kitchen is a cooks dream with plenty of counter space to bake or just gather with snacks etc. Our granddaughters had homework to do, the loft was great for that, they could study yet be a part of our conversations. Football was on the TV for the guys and the gals were playing games and baking cake our son-in-laws birthday.

The weather was great for taking family pictures, with the leaves turning it will be a memory not forgotten. We will definitely come back!

Lake O'Brien is 188 acres, and one of the clearest lakes in the state, with water clarity down to 22 feet. The fishing is great for northerns, bass, walleyes, crappies and sunfish. Skiing, after dinner sunset cruise on the Pontoon or a walk through the mature pine forest are just a few of the attractions. World class golf at The Legacy, The Preserve, Deacons Lodge or the local Crosswoods are available close by. For the shopper, you can visit downtown Crosslake and Nisswa, Christmas Point or Fleet Farm. There are numerous restaurants nearbye, but don't miss dinner at the Riverside Inn and an Ice Cream Cone at Lake Country Crafts and Cones in Crosslake. The wild rice at the Bungalow is outstanding. For you winter enthusiasts, the snowmobiling and cross country skiing are unbeatable!

Fantastic Girls' Weekend Destination

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful, comfortable, well-appointed, and clean. Eight women for four nights and we never left! It is even better than the pictures. While the well pump went out on our first evening, the owner was very responsive and had it fixed the next morning. We all agreed we have found our annual destination and can't wait until next year!

The pictures don’t describe how fantastic this place is. At the end of a dead end with a beautiful view of the lake. We truely loved our stay and will stay here again next year. Very nice place.

Gorgeous cabin with spectacular views!

  • 5 of 5

This is a gorgeous cabin on a perfect spot on the lake. It has a great bonfire pit to relax at in the evenings and crystal clear water with a sandy bottom.

The cabin itself is very accommodating for a large group of people. The kitchen, dining room, living room area is great for hanging out and socializing. There are plenty of comfortable beds in separate areas to meet the needs of all guests.

I would definitely request this cabin again if I was looking for a spot for a gathering of family and friends.

Beautiful home on Lake O'Brien

  • 5 of 5

Our family greatly enjoyed our stay at your home. We had 9 Adults, 4 totters and 2 dogs. Their was plenty of room, bathrooms and beds for everyone. We have been on the lake before so we knew what to expect fishing wise. Good small/medium size northern, sunnies and bass. Great lake to kayak on since it did not have larger boats and was sheltered from the wind. The pontoon boat worked great for the little kids and dogs. The kids and dogs loved the sandy beach and not very deep so perfect for little kids. Greg came out and fixed the one minor issue we reported at check-in. Greg was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely keep this on the list for future trips to the cross-lake area.

Amazing! Breath taking! Room for all and then some!!!

  • 5 of 5

This place is just too perfect! From the home, to the views, the pontoon even the fire pit! The home has everything you need, is immaculately clean, has so much sleeping space, oh my gosh! Perfect! Then you step outside either onto the deck or screened in porch and even more perfection!! Could not believe how crystal clear the sand beach water was!!!! Eagles, loons, deer, fish!!!! Having the pontoon adds to the enjoyment of experiencing the lake! We sang by our bonfires, grilled, fished, played cards, watched movies, went for walks, fishing, ate, ate, ate, and enjoyed the entire stay!!! Being so close to Crosslake is also awesome!!! Plan on an annual return!!! Thank you, we loved it!!!

Perfect cabin for our extended family with kids.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the cabin. The lake was great for our kids ages 3 - 8. There is a sandy bottom, it is very clear and shallow. We brought a lily pad up and the kids spent hours in the water and playing in the sand. The cabin set up was nice for us to make dinners and all eat in the kitchen between the bar and table. The room set up worked well too. It is close to downtown Crosslake so we went into town a few times. Went to the community center and the kids played on the playground, we played on the soccer field and used the pickleball courts. The roads around the cabin were great for biking and running as there isn't much traffic.

We had a bee issue the first day we were there. I called the following morning and someone came out that afternoon to take care of them. Very responsive.

Thanks for sharing your home with us, we had a great time.
