lovely cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely cabin that comfortably held our group with lots of room to interact. We enjoyed the grill and the firepit outside, as well as the pool table and dart board inside. It was convenient for visiting our son at Juniata as well. We may try to make this an annual tradition for our family.

Very clean and roomy!

  • 4 of 5

We rented on very short notice. Neil was great to respond very quickly and make arrangements.

Pros, very clean beautiful cabin and lots of space and very family friendly. Everything was provided and it was quiet. One of the days was very warm and there is A/C (window units) and they came in handy

There is a lower level game room (pool table and dart board)

There are cabins around this cabin but they are far enough away and didn't really hear them.

Cons, If your towing a boat there is very limited space and you cannot turn around in the driveway although Neil suggested I could when asked, I had to back my boat in and out of the driveway and it was quiet difficult.(there would be plenty of parking for cars only)

The cabin is a 20 minute car ride to anything in the form of bike paths, lake etc. so just be aware. and WiFi was very poor to unusable (realizing that for some that's a good thing) so be prepared to work offline.

Overall a good experience I would recommend.

Owner's Response: My sincere apologies for the problems listed above. I have turned my Dodge Ram towing a 25' boat around in the drive in two different places (next to the house or next to the dumpster) with no issues. Separately, backing the trailer into the drive is not a problem either. The wifi is state of the art Satellite which is very expensive and high performance (12 MBS). I have never heard a complaint about it before but will look into it.

Beautiful but had some issues

  • 4 of 5

The place was beautiful bUT there were some flaws. The first isue we ran into was the dryer was broken so we couldn't dry our clothes. Another issue but was easily fixed was the driveway is big enough for a boat but not big enough to turn it around, so if your bringing a boat plan on backing it in. The last issue we had was it said there were 3 queen size beds and it seemed more like they were full size beds. The floors are really loud so I'd anyone is walking you can hear everything. The views were amazing and it was very private. I loved how the kitchen had all plates and cooking utensils needed. We also loved playing pool. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Owner's Response: I apologize for the dryer not working during your stay. It has been repaired. I am disappointed with the comments about the driveway, beds and floors. The beds measure 60" wide x 80" Long. They are Queen size beds. This is a 100% authentic wooden cabin built by renowned cabin builder Don Rockwell. It is made from wood including the floors. As for the driveway, I have no problem parking my Dodge Ram 4x4 pulling a 25' Cabin cruiser on a trailer in the drive. In fact, I have turned it around in the drive with no issues.

Charming & comfortable!

  • 4 of 5

We frequent the area often but this was our first time staying at Lenga Hill Lodge. Overall, a wonderful experience from the initial inquiring about the property to our departure from our week long stay! Owner was super nice and very quick to respond to and answer questions we had. Cabin is quite remote and such a beautiful and serene location. It was perfect for our group of 6 plus extra room for others if needed. Multiple levels for different activities and plenty of options for spreading out. Stairs accessing the different levels are somewhat steep and may pose difficulty for individuals who are challenged by stairs. We will certainly consider re-booking this location for future needs!!

Owner's Response: I contacted Michelle and she told me the 4 star rating was a mistake and that she intended to give 5 stars. HomeAway will not make a change to the rating.
