I'm from Germany and came to the North Fork by chance but instantly fell in love with the charm and history of Greenport. It is so unique in its setting surrounded by water, its wonderful food and wines and its proximity to New York that I've been coming here ever since.
Isabel purchased this House in 2013
Why Isabel chose Greenport
When this house from 1830 came on the market (it had always been in the same family) I knew this was a one time opportunity - luckily it was really in good shape already and it was fun bringing out its abundant historic details. The house has beautiful wooden floors and all the original doors and windows. The living room walls and ceiling are the original tin, quite unique and now shine in their restored glamour.
What makes this House unique
Garden with mature trees and beautiful plants, huge eat in kitchen with open ceiling leading up to second floor, washer/dryer, historic details throughout. Walk to all Greenport has to offer. Vineyards in close proximity.

Perfect place for a few days. Could be very hot in July/August!
Everything was clean and in good working order. A couple of casserole dishes would be great. Great location.
Charming, immaculate, convenient apartment
We had a lovely 3-night stay in this apartment, which is even better than the photos show! The place is absolutely immaculate, & well designed for ease & comfort. Everything works as it should, & having a basket of goodies & coffees in the kitchen was a bonus. The location is quiet & pretty--especially with the cherry blossoms at this time of year. We really appreciated that it's very walkable to everything in the village. And for the east end of the North Fork, it's a very good value. Isabel was easily accessible the few times we needed to communicate, & her housekeeper is obviously a gem! Highly recommend staying at this apartment,
Comfortable Rental in Beautiful Greenport
My wife and I had a great experience at Isabel’s place. I am not exaggerating when I say she has a beautiful yard with expert landscaping and a comfortable deck and gazebo. It was very easy to access and to get around to the wonderful Town of Greenport. The apartment, which was clean and well equipped, was like staying in a house with it’s own access to the yard and street. Also, Isabel Is very committed to hospitality. Highly recommend this rental.
Charming updated historic house
Great rental. House was well equipped, immaculate and very charming. The gazebo in the backyard was an added plus. We loved it here. Isabel was a gracious host.
An Immaculate Paradise
Isabel's home is lovely and the perfect location!
First, let me tell you about the house. The minute you enter the gate, you will find the garden is so inviting that you just want to sit in the gazebo and admire the relaxing grounds. The house is well-maintained, very clean and has all the amenities you'll need during your stay. The furnishings were carefully chosen, so perfect for Greenport.
The communication from beginning to end was flawless. You can easily walk to downtown or the beach.
I will definitely stay at Isabel's home next time I visit Greenport, if she'll have me.
Great house, confortable, cozy and less then 10 mins walk to Greenport downtown. Definately recomend it and definately will go back! Thank you Isabel!
The North Fork is known as the garden of New York. There are countless vineyards as well as fruit, vegetable and flower farms all around. There are oyster farms and fresh fish markets, it truly is amazing how good the food is here. The vineyards all offer sampling and live music, it's a very enjoyable experience.
There are many beautiful beaches around Greenport, some you can have almost to yourself and the town has wonderful historic charm and is all walkable. There are many great restaurants as well as beautiful shops.
There is a ferry to Shelter Island right in Greenport as as well as the Jitney buses and Long Island Railroad to New York (I find the Jitney buses the most comfortable and they take 2.5 hours to Grand Central!). There is also a ferry in Orient Point which takes you to Connecticut so you are in a perfect spot to explore the near and far.
