We had a great stay and loved the property. The owner was very helpful with suggestions for local interest and places to visit. Would definitely suggest this property to others for a very relaxing ocean view stay
Great porch/balcony with a view that can be enjoyed in any weather
This two story home is in a small, friendly town. Nancy, the owner, lives next door and is very accommodating. She even had coffee, eggs, and bread in the unit so we wouldn't have to worry about our first breakfast. Nancy knows the town very well and will assist you with planning activities. Two small supermarkets are in town, a local farmer comes around daily in a truck selling fresh vegetables and fruits, and a larger supermarket is 4 or 5 kilometers outside of town. The wireless signal was good enough for four people to be all on line at the same time. The house is located close to the national park and wildlife is all around it. We saw holler monkeys in the trees right outside our windows. A wide variety of birds, including a toucan was seen during our stay. We spent most of our nights on the veranda with our computers, but for a younger guest there is plenty of action to be found within an easy walk to the bars and pubs in town. It is a nice, lively little town that has something to entertain everyone.
It is a rustic environment - no TV or AC. If you want that then you're looking for a different type of vacation. Even without AC, the ceiling fans were enough to keep you comfortable during the nights and the wireless internet was good enough to provide for some entertainment. It was very quiet most nights. We had a lovely stay.
A beautiful piece of paradise!
My husband and I were fortunate enough to have had 3 weeks in this wonderful little town. The house we rented from Nancy could not have been more perfect. Everything we needed was there. We were able to have breakfasts at home and head out for the day. Sometimes having supper back at the house or walking downtown for fantastic meals. Having Nancy next door was a blessing. We felt like we'd known her forever..she was very friendly and helpful. We certainly enjoyed her company. We often ran things by her to get her advice before we headed out. We often found things on our outdoor table (herbs, green onions, etc) and she had picked up things for us so we already had a breakfast in the fridge when we got there. And a jug of filtered water. Altho Cahuita is a small town - we loved it - it was a perfect Costa Rican experience. We felt very safe walking around and the people are SO friendly. We had some truly unforgettable experience and met so many remarkable people. We even had sloths in the backyard! We had beaches that were gorgeous a few minutes walk away. We had the Cahuita National Park at the end of the street. I can't say enough wonderful things about this property and the wonderful lady who owns it. It was even more beautiful than the pictures - and the pictures are perfect! if you are considering visiting Costa Rica...you can't go wrong with this one. We were here for 3 weeks and enjoyed every single day. This definitely was a trip of a lifetime! Thank you Nancy! Pura Vida
Great house and owner!
I really like the house. Lovely wood craftsmanship and tile work, and spacious. No beach but beautiful view, right on the ocean. The owner lives next door, and was very helpful!
Nice to have them here. Had many suggestions. Most we have tried in the past but very helpful.
Cahuita is a great little town and this house is a great place to stay
Nancy is a gracious host, brought us breakfast for our first morning and fruit throughout the week. The house is right on the ocean, a 5 min walk from a swimmable beach and bars/restaurants. House has everything you need and was clean on our arrival. Cant emphasize enough that Nancy is a wonderful host.
Nice of you to express your experience. We try hard. It was enjoyable to host you 2. Hope to see you again & or friends.
Incredible ocean front property!
We had such an incredible time staying here. Property was a little confusing to find when we first arrived, simply due to Costa Rica not using addresses. We ended up staying an additional night because we wanted to explore more. I really enjoy getting to know culture and people and not doing super touristy things, so this place provided that for us. Cahuita is a quaint little town that seems secluded, but there are still great things to do. Nancy gave us some great recommendations for food and drink and the do’s and dont’s of the area. We also had a wonderful time at the Tree of Life animal sanctuary down the road that Nancy also recommended. It’s a really incredible place to stay and relax. The porch was so nice to just sit out on and watch the waves. We played cards out there at night and it was purely therapeutic. Thank you again Nancy! We will definitely be staying again when we fly back to CR.
OH, How nice of you to receive the true experience of what I live everyday. Cahuita is a gem. Let us hope it is not raped as much as the rest of Costa Rica has. Natural
