Secluded rustic cabin in the Black Hills, Just 3 miles from Custer, SD.
5 miles from Crazy Horse, 10 miles to Custer State Park, 25 miles to Wind Cave National Park, 17 miles to Jewel Cave and 40 minutes to Mt Rushmore.
Very nice quite area with 4 acres of land around it. It has 1 bedroom,a large front room and an eat in kitchen. It can sleep 4 with a day bed or sofa sleeper. It is set in a valley with mountains on both front and back, can be walked or climbed.
We had a wonderful time visiting gorgeous South Dakota and the Lost Bison Cabin was a wonderful home base in the Black Hills. We felt close to the major sites but off the beaten path. The cabin is close enough to Custer to easily go out for a meal but still secluded and peaceful. When we arrived the owner stopped by to make sure we were settled and was very nice and friendly. The cabin was beautiful inside and out and we felt very comfortable there. Everything was clean and the bed was comfy. The best part about our stay was the stunning scenery. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch or out in the yard watching birds, squirrels, turkey and deer roaming around. We didn't end up having time to cook, but the kitchen seemed well appointed. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Lost Bison Cabin and wish we had more time to stay longer.
The Lost Bison Cabin was exactly what we were hoping for! Tucked away against a rocky backdrop, our hosts welcomed us to their comfortable, rustic guest cabin. We and our dogs enjoyed the peace and tranquility of this country setting even though it was only 5 minutes to downtown Custer (we recommend getting a slice at the Purple Pie House - delish!). After touring Custer State Park, we made s'mores on the fire ring located on the property. Everything was great!
This was a very nice little cabin. Was very easy to get to and close to town and attractions. Would recommend this for a family of 4 or less. Very neat & clean, owner was there to greet us within 15 minutes. Thanks for the weekend wish we could've stayed longer.
Lost Bison Cabin is a jewel in a beautiful, rustic but accessible location. And, being from Minnesota, the cherry on the cake....not a single mosquito during our stay! We enjoyed peace and solitude, cooked our meals, slept well and were most comfortable during our stay...wished we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended; just wished we were a few hours closer.
We stayed at the Lost Bison Cabin during our trip to Custer State Park and day trips to Devil's Tower, Mount Rushmore, the Black Hills area and the Badlands. Great space for 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids). Saw many deer during our trips to and from the cabin. Easy access to downtown and surrounding areas.
My husband and I absolutely loved Lost Bison Cabin! The décor and layout of the place was right up our alley and the owners are so nice. We felt immediately at home and cannot wait to return next summer!! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to my friends and family.
