Wonderful Weekend Getaway
The property was small but perfect for me and my fiancé. It had everything we needed including a DVD player for a relaxing weekend. It was very quiet and the neighbor, Chris was very nice. The fire pit was great and that is where my fiancé proposed to me.
Peaceful
A little surprised to find a trailer not a cottage but with that said...loved it! So peaceful and the property owner was extremely helpful and more accommodating than I could ever expect. Thank you Bill!
Cabin in the Woods
This was a nice little cabin in the woods. It reminded us of a boy/girl scout type cabin. It did have an odd odor to it. I'm not sure if it was a damp smell or a shut in smell. I know this is in the woods, but there were SO many bugs in the house. We watched a light show of lightening bugs as well laid in bed. Our son killed a couple roaches and ran from the big spiders. This could be totally normal but it creeped me out a bit. The couch was cozy and the wifi worked well. The kids had fun with bunk beds. Just an FYI to tall guests, you will hit your head on the ceiling while showering if you are 6'4" or taller. We were excited to see a bear on the way to the cabin and a turkey in the backyard. Thank you!
WHITE OAK CANYON COTTAGE
We Loved the White Oak Canyon Cottage & the entire surrounding area!! The cottage was like home away from home! We would DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN!!!!!
~perfect location!~
We had an amazing time staying at Bill’s cabin! The place is perfect, close to Shenandoah State Park! It had all the amenities we needed for our trip! The place is peaceful! Bill was very prompt in responding to our questions. We will definitely come back and stay again!
Great Location! Very accommodating people!
if you want to be VERY close to some of the best hikes in Shenandoah National Park, this is a great place. We were able to stroll down the road in our flip flops to cool off in the stream. But be warned: because this cottage is just steps away from a popular trail and swimming hole, there will be lots of traffic around on the weekends (We were there in August). The amount of people trying to park nearby took us by surprise. The evenings are very peaceful though.
The cottage isn't fancy, but it had what we needed. The owner Bill was extremely accommodating--if something was wrong he was more than happy to make it right. Also the neighbor Scott was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He gave us the impression that we could knock on his door if we needed anything.
Overall this was a very nice place to stay. My family had a great time.
