Our house is situated at the broadest canal of Amsterdam in the oldest part of the city. It is a very qiuet neighbourhood where families live. But at only 4 minutes walk lies the 'Nieuwmarkt' (see the photo) And at 7 minutes walk lies the Central train station.
We are not the only one that think our canel is the most beautiful 'street' of Amsterdam
Our house was build around 1700, and said to be Captains Home's. We live here about 5 years. We love the house, it is very big.
We live on the bel-etage. That is ground floor, but then a little higher.
There three bedrooms. One of them is in the sousterrain and has access to the outside patio/garden (Half below groundlevel)
Our house is old and still needs some renovating. But it has character and the location is marvellous.
We have an house in the back to (the 'achterhuis'). We rent that permanenty to maximum two people. We share the main door our house. That is all.
We live in our house and rent it out during our holidays.
And we have a cat named stella.
In fact our house is legally two houses. Binnenkant nr. 24 E plus nr. 24 F. But it is one.
We live here since 2004
mike boerma purchased this house in 2004
Our house is very spacious. It's situated right in the old centre on the broadest canel of Amsterdam. It is a quiet living area. There is very little traffic. But at the same time it is only 5 minutes walk to the Nieuwmarkt. One of the city centres.
We have a little garden and outside patio.
Ou house has a lot of space
Absolutely stunning house, it's distressed feel only added to the character. Perfect for entertaining and big meals, with cosy out door areas and three massive ensuite rooms.
And to top it all off you're welcomed home by their lovely cat Stella who loves to curl up with you next to one of the many sunny windows.
Incredible location, within walking distance of everything and a short stroll to restaurants, cafes and supermarkets.
Two of the toilets didn't have doors (purposely) but the showers were lovely!
Would highly recommend, especially over a hotel/hostel - you really felt like you belonged and the group was able gather for meals and planning (and the odd glass of wine).
Thank you, Mike!
the house is very central in Amsterdam, and it was easy to walk almost everywhere.
We loved the house- the decoration was fun and whimsical, and the house is huge! There was easily enough room for all 6 of us, and we enjoyed the roomy bedrooms and the in suite bathrooms.
The house is unique and fun, and we would love to come back some time again.
Communication with our host was very easy, and we have only had a positive experience.
