Bandon is a great place for GOLF:
In addition to Bandon Crossings, the world famous Bandon Dunes Golf Resort is about 6 miles north of town and includes Bandon Dunes, Pacific Dunes, Bandon Trails, and Old Macdonald links style golf courses.
My husband and I fell in love with Bandon Beach in 2001, and built the vacation rental All About the View in 2003 so we could enjoy vacations there and share it with others.
As a golf addict, Rex loved playing Bandon Dunes, but felt it was too high priced for most people to play regularly, so spearheaded the creation of Bandon Crossings Golf Course south of town.
Once we committed to Bandon it was hard not to want more great vacation homes to share with people looking for a fun trip in Bandon.
Carla Smith purchased this house in 2013
We fell in love with the great views, and appreciated that it's a great house for people who want views without a lot of stairs, and plenty of bedrooms to accommodate a big group.
We love to wake up and see how the ocean looks, and then enjoy the sunsets in the evening from the comfort of our house. It's fun to watch the horse trail rides go down the beach, and take our own long walks on this beautiful beach.
Loved everything about this home. Location is very convenient and situated on a spectacular lot with a breathtaking view of the pacific. Very close to Bandon Dunes and Bandon Crossings. The beach is accessible by taking a short trail next to the house. The walk rewards you with a beautiful sandy beach dotted with giant granite rocks that give the place an otherworldly feel. Highly recommended. BTW go play Bandon Crossings if at all possible. Outstanding track!
We just love this vacation home. The kitchen is well equipped. Bedrooms are roomy, beds are so comfy and the kids enjoyed staying in the loft. The ocean view from the master BR, kitchen and living room is awesome! We loved going down to the beach w/c is so accessible fr the side of the house. I don't have any negative comment about the house everything is positive that we all decided to come back next year. I highly recommend this property to families with kids.
Our son was getting married in Coquille, OR. We wanted to be on the beach as we had family from WY, ID, WA coming that have never seen the ocean. We had a 23' motor-home and 28' travel trailer and several cars and motor cycles. This home had room for the motor-home and Harley's in the garage and the RV in the driveway. We still had room for for 3 cars and a truck. I had read other reviews on this house with know-one really mentioned the 3 bathrooms. I was not sure if three bathrooms would work for 15 people. Now the ones that came in the travel trailer and motor home used there own. So that left 10 of us in the house with 3 bathrooms. We shared a bath with our parents (jack and jill) master and another room with queen. It breaks down to 2 queen beds share a bathroom and one room shares it with a hallway. We had no problems. We did not use the hide a bed or one of the twins in the loft. We found it easy to share the kitchen and it seemed we had no problem all hanging out. Plenty of closet storage. It was an easy walk to the beach until you get closer. Then its just a simple walk and a slight hill down to the sand. We found several nice restaurants to eat at only 8 min away. It's a bit older and dated, but it's a rental. Working with Carla was great!. Always got back and was very helpful. I would recommend this home to a large group that needs room for RV's large vehicles. We read restaurant reviews on ate at the ones that had 4 stars or better. We were not disappointed. Downtown Bandon was fun to hang out and eat at. We watched people crabbing.
The house was as the pictures depicted except the lot is bigger than shown and the garage is huge. Carla was great to work with and she returned the security deposit in a timely manner. I rented the house along with some friends to play the Bandon Dunes Golf courses. I intend to return to the house again next year. The house is advertised as having 5 bedrooms, but it really has 6 if you include the loft. You really can't go wrong renting this house. The owners seem to either own or be associated with Bandon Crossings Golf Course, which is a great alternative to the Bandon Dunes courses and as a renter you might be able to get a reduced greens fee. I intend to take advantage of this course next year. It looks like a really good course, with greens that may actually be better than Bandon Dunes in the winter.
Listing description was accurate. The small channel of water that needed to be crossed in order to get to the beach was just as photographed in the listing, although someone had put up a temporary bridge that worked great for those of us that chose to keep our feet dry. Everything was just great. Beautiful view, beautiful spacious home, Bandon was fun to visit, and the house was close to horse back riding that was an amazing experience. Loved this and hated to leave. Great reunion spot for those with family in Seattle and San Francisco!
I suppose I had high expectations before arriving, we had been planning this trip for nearly a year....a "destination birthday party" for me (who was turning 60). Well, the Pacific Panorama did NOT disappoint! In fact, it exceeded my highest expectation's. The home was more than adequate for 13 of us to enjoy! The view OUTSTANDING! my husband and I practically had to pinch ourselves each morning as we looked out at the ocean, Face Rock right in front of us! so surreal it was when we walked down on the beach at low tide out to her and all the other rocks and got "up close and personal" and then later in the day to see those same beauties out in the ocean at 'high tide' with wave crashing against them.....interesting feeling . :) The kitchen was very well equipped as most nights we ate in and there were plenty of pots and pans and a couple of large stock pots just perfect for the Crab Boil when the grand kids brought home some freshlly caught crabs from the Bandon Pier....Tony's Crab Shack was so helpful and reasonable! The bed my husband and I slept in (the master) even had one of those "sleep number" mattresses on it and it was heavenly! Every night I slept like a baby! The place was very clean and well kept, had all the supplies we could possibly want for our week's stay there. The only drawback if there was one, really wasn't a big deal to us, the little path way to the beach had suffered a bit from winter storms which we had been made aware of and we had to access the beach at the public access which really was just a about a three minute walk away. I could go on and on, but, the best advice I could give to someone contemplating renting this wonderful venue...is just go right ahead and do it! You surely won't regret it !!
Bandon, along Highway 101 on the beautiful southern Oregon Coast, is both picturesque and uncrowded. It's a fun family vacation spot, but is world renown for it's golf courses. Special rates are available to our guests at Bandon Crossings Golf Course just 5 miles south of this small town, the famous Bandon Dunes Resort is just north of town.
Bandon, Oregon is a wonderful coastal retreat, with quaint shops and art galleries. It has miles of lovely beaches, tide pools, wildlife, and pounding surf. There's lots to do: horseback riding on the beach, flying kites, kayaking through the Bandon Marsh, fishing for salmon in Coquille River, exploring the Sand Dune National Recreation Area, about an hour north, and of course, golfing.
