Alhambra del Mar is a quiet, luxury ground floor apartment of 110m2 in one of the most exclusive fenced communities of Marbella. You can walk to Playa de Nagüeles in two minutes without crossing any busy streets. You can almost see the beach from your doorstep, it offers fun for all ages and has countless (inter)national restaurants and cafes. Alhambra del Mar is only 10 minutes walking (or jogging or bicycling) from the old town "Casco Antigues" of Marbella. The modern kitchen has all appliances; a Nespresso-espresso machine, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine. About Brit Leistikow-Peeters

We are a family of four and have been fortunate to have this lovely apartment since our oldest was not even one.

We visit Marbella three or four times a year, and have been doing so since the kids were small and before that. We love the tropical gardens, the lively beach and a visit to the old town.

My husbands family has been living part-time in Marbella since the 1960's so we have a connection wit Marbella. We have seen great changes over the years and still in love with the laid back, lively and tropical surroundings. The cheerful atmosphere, immaculate gardens, beach life, foods and sun make this an all year round destination we enjoy every time.

In Marbella you see people of all ages and backgrounds mingle and enjoying themselves. Certainly in summer (which is almost from April till November) people are outgoing; take a stroll, go to the beach and dine together with family and friends. That's exactly what we do too!

We like to travel if we can and explore Andalusia and it's surroundings. We have been off to Morocco, Ronda, Gibraltar, Faro, Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada, Sierra Nevada, Cadiz, Portugal, Malaga off course and many more places in the last years.

There is a lot to see, experience and explore in the area which it doesn't make it dull in the long run!

What makes this apartment unique

Alhambra del Mar has a central location, quiet and the beach with it's fun is very nearby. The tropical surroundings in the urbanisation are beautiful and perfectly maintained. The ground-floor apartment is 110m2 with a large & sunny terrace and small private garden which accesses a big palm tree garden with the pool, sun beds and parasols. There is a semi closed parking space.

The sea a is a two minute walk without having to cross any busy roads. The beach has a range of activities for all ages and plenty of restaurants to choose from. You can walk to the old city center of Marbella easily in 10 minutes over the boulevard.

Warm welcome, meet and greet is done by kind staff (English & Spanish speaking) when arriving in Marbella. Staff and I are easily reachable by email or phone / whats-app for any questions or issues. Also for local tips and recommendations we are more then happy to inform you what's happening in and around Marbella.

The mild climate makes Marbella all year round attractive. Average yearly temperature is 22C with 320 sunny days a year. Best location possible on the 'golden mile' of Marbella. Over the pedestrian boulevard you can walk to restaurants and shops easily and without a car. The old city center of Marbella, Casco Antiguo, is a ten minute walk. Numerous beaches and sports activities are nearby. Shopping is great in Puerto Banus and Marbella. Jet set harbour Puerto Banus is 3 kilometres. Attractive cities to visit are Cádiz, Málaga, Sevilla, Córdoba, Gibraltar and Granada. Nice villages in the surroundings are Ronda, Mijas and Istán. Malaga international airport is 40 minutes by car. The apartment is in one of the most sought after urbanisations of Marbella because of the proximity to the city, the beach and the price winning tropical gardens surrounding the houses in the urbanisation. 24 hour security, fenced and private parking space.


The weather in Marbella - Marbella is located on the coast and sheltered by the Sierra Blanca Mountains, making it a highly favorable micro-climate. The sun shines on average 320 days a year. The summers are hot, but the sea always brings cool. In the summer it almost never rains. If it rains, it is usually in the period between November and March.


Rentals: Since 2005 we are renting out our apartment, and it has proved a succes, we are in our 11the year and have met quite some people now. We are almost fully occupied whole year round! Some people are coming on a regular basis, others we see every now and then. Of course we are always very happy when a guest has had a super holiday. You can read their reviews on this website under reviews. Of course now and then there are people with questions or small problems. We always try to communicate and take away the problem as soon as possible in order to not to let frustration grow, you only have a few precious weeks of holiday! We are constantly improving the apartment (also thanks to your feedback) because we do love our own house as well! We love to hear the feedback from people when they had a great holiday and want to come back immediately and if there was something they would like to see improved we would like to hear that too. We would be excited to welcome you in our green, tropical apartment.


Festivals: In June, the Fair and Festival is celebrated in honour of the patron saint of Marbella, San Bernabe. For a week there are various activities and performances which are divided into two parts: Fair Day, which began in the Old Town and is now held in the Avenida del Doctor Maíz Viñals, and Fair Night, which takes place in Arroyo Primero. In October the Fair and Festivals are held in honour of the patron saint of San Pedro Alcantara , which also lasts a full week. In addition, throughout the summer season (July to October), in most neighbourhoods of Marbella three are celebrations for a few days to encourage activity in the area with dancing, competitions and other activities organised by the neighbourhood associations. Among the best known are: Santa Marta, Salto del Agua, Leganitos, Divina Pastora, Trapiche, Bullring and Miraflores, Pilgrimage to the Cross (in May), the Virgen del Carmen (July), the Virgin Mother Pilgrimage (in August) and Toston Day (in November), a traditional celebration which consists of going to the fields to roast chestnuts.


Madrid - Malaga train:

On December 23rd 2007 the new AVE High Spped Train Service between the Spanish Capitol Madrid and The City Of Malaga. The new service means it is now possible to travel between the two cities in appr 2hr 30 mins. The route travels though Ciudad Real, Puertollano, Córdoba, and Antequera.on its way from the Capitol to Malaga

The Train has the affectionate nickname “The Duck” was built by the Spanish company Talgo can reach speeds of up to 330km/h.

Beautifully presented and perfect location

We managed a late booking and were lucky enough to get the week before school holidays so it was nice and quiet. The apartment is beautifully presented and extremely comfortable. Literally a few minutes walk to both the beach and the Town centre, so the hire car stayed in the car park most of the week. Both the owner, Brit and her local agent Ines couldn't have been more helpful so no problem recommending this property, we're certainly going to try booking again, perhaps even later this year.

Gorgeous, great location, comfortable

We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights here earlier this week. The property is gorgeous, inside and out. It was very clean and well-stocked with anything we could need. The beach was just a 5 minute walk away, there are restaurants and shops within just minutes of the apartment. It was a lovely stay, one I would easily book again.

A little piece of Heaven!

We spent two wonderful weeks in Alhambra del Mar with our two teenage children last August and cannot recommend it highly enough. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. We ate regularly on the veranda which is a beautiful private spot overlooking a small garden. The main gardens & pool area are immaculately kept and never too crowded. The location is perfect also, a short stroll to the seafront & beach with plenty of restaurants and activities to enjoy for all ages. Our hosts were a pleasure to deal at every level - overall a very positive experience, we would re-visit in a heartbeat!

Wonderful location, perfect hosts

Welcoming atmosphere, we were greeted by Ines and offered fruits. The apartment - with an intimate patio and small garden - and the whole complex are just perfect for a flawless summer vacation at the seaside :-) The apartment is decorated with taste, fully equipped and very well laid out. The gardens of the complex are beautiful (with water basins and small waterfalls, appropriate for the name of the complex - "Alhambra del Mar") and the swimming pool has plenty of space for both swimming and sunbathing.

The directions received from the owner to travel from the Malaga airport were very good, we reached the complex very easily.

Ines was also a great host, very professional and ready to help. We enjoyed meeting her and practising our Spanish (although she was, of course, fluent in English).

We visited Granada/Alhambra (you need to make reservations on line at least 1-2 weeks in advance, or otherwise arrive at Alhambra no later than 8:30 am - do not stay in line for cash purchases, instead go and buy tickets at the automated machines using your credit card), Malaga (the Feria de Agosto de Málaga was going on, with beautiful flamenco street dancing), Ronda (a spectacular mountain-perched little town, with a nicely-preserved old center; do not miss the Museo del bandolero) and Benahavis (20 min from Marbella, it has very good restaurants and nice strolls).

The seaside promenade from Alhambra del Mar toward Puerto Banus is very pleasant, especially after 7pm, with nice chiringuitos (there is also a promenade to the east of Marbella but that is more crowded and commercial) and places to rest and enjoy the view.

We had a wonderful time and we'll recommend the apartment to our friends and family.

We stayed ( a family of 4 with a baby and a toddler) at this apartment for 4 weeks in January 2014 and we can just say that it was one of the most positive vacation experiences we have had. The apartment has everything and can accommodate all of your needs, the location perfect and the owner with her "local crew" always there to solve any possible issues (fx. when the dishwasher broke down they replaced it with a new one within a couple of days!). All in all we had a great time and we are looking forward to visit again in the future.
