Located on the outskirts of the Casa Marina district, this quaint 2 br/ 2 bath beach house comfortably sleeps 4-6 people. Tile throughout and a gorgeous newly updated kitchen with granite countertops, makes cooking meals fun and easy for all. Vibrant, color splashed Cuban tile floors in both bedrooms are original dating back to the 1950's. The master bath's whimsical pink and green tiles are original construction as well, and give the master suite the feel of going back to simpler times. There are three flat screen tv's; one in the living room, as well as one in each bedroom. Wireless internet and cable tv are provided. There is an electric piano in the sunroom for those who wish to play. The private backyard with tropical plants and flowers, and a small pond, will make you want to spend time outdoors. Across the street are bike and jogging paths to the beaches. Higgs beach is one block away to the south, and Smathers is a short bike or jog to the north. Downtown Key West is easily within biking or walking distance. Sitting on the porch in the mornings and evenings, people watching with a cafe' con leche , a glass of wine or a margarita... and you will feel like you have become a native living on conch time.
We had the good fortune to stay at this property just prior to it being listed, and felt I had to write a review.
What an adorable place to stay during our visit to Key West. Tastefully decorated, yet simplistic. Very low maintenance as a vacation rental.
As a group of five, we were easily accommodated. Beds were comfortable. The kitchen is quite spacious and furnished with modern appliances. There is a feeling of nostalgia throughout the house, which I loved, since the feel of Key West in bygone times appeals to me. Even the decorative white wrought iron adorning the front porch adds that Key West flair.
The neighborhood felt very safe, as we strolled out at night with no problems. It was very quiet, yet was only a short distance downtown, to the excitement of Duval Street. Although there are neighbors on either side, it is quite private.
I loved having my morning coffee in the cute breakfast nook/sun room that overlooks the back yard. The back yard is secluded for sunbathing, etc.,and has a deck with comfortable seating. Exotic flowers abound. The front has a mosaic walkway and tasteful foliage, and the porch was a great place to sit in the evenings. We had no problems with parking during our entire stay.
There is no pool, but the beach is literally just a short walk across the street, and personally, I would much rather spend my time at the beach instead of a pool.
When I'm in Key West, I like to feel part of the culture, and this quaint house certainly adds to that nostalgic feeling. We will definitely stay there again, and would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering this property.
