wonderful girls weekend away
We had a great time relaxing at the property! Very secluded and gorgeous scenery! Would definitely book again.
Without a doubt the most beautiful location we have ever rented including building, grounds and surrounding area.
Great for a weekend away from the city
We loved the beautiful architecture, the great vinyl collection, the bike trail to Monticello and just beging surrounded by nature. Great for everyone who needs to get away from the city for a couple of relaxing days.
Slice of heaven
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this lovely farmhouse. It had everything we needed to disconnect and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the country. We can't wait to come back to enjoy more sunsets and a super cool retro record collection.
My elderly mother, my wife and I stayed at the Little Sugar River Farm for two nights in July 2019. Our stay was everything we had hoped for. The owner, Frank, welcomed us and checked with us each day to make sure we had everything we needed.
The home was clean, bright, and comfortable. The weather was hot and humid when we were there, and the air conditioning kept the home cool.
We loved sitting out on the back porch in the evening, listening to the sounds of nature, enjoying the sunset, and watching the lightning bugs over the wildflowers.
We highly recommend this property. We only wish it were closer to our home, so we could visit more often.
Peace and Calm
My husband and I were escaping from the city for a few days of quiet relaxation and Frank's place totally delivered. With a fully stocked kitchen and many places to just chill in the home, there wasn't anything that we needed that wasn't provided. We brought all our food for the week and cooked recipes we had been meaning to try for some time. If you're looking for a quiet get away and don' t mind cooking (since you're so far away from restaurants), it's perfect.
We are 2.5 hours north of Chicago and 40 minutes south of Madison in a very lovely, rural area. We are surrounded on 3 sides by wildlife refuge, so the guesthouse is secluded and peaceful. A short drive away are the charming villages of New Glarus, Monticello, and Monroe, with excellent restaurants, antique shops, galleries. Wonderful bike trails are next to the farm, and the quiet rural roads offer good road biking as well.
