A beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in a convenient location. Nice back yard and porch. Original double shotgun house built in the 1800s, totally rebuilt in 2014 to incorporate 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, each with private entrance. It is a slice of Parisian comfort in New Orleans, with an emphasis on local art. Walking distance to Jacques Imo's, Oak Street shops & restaurants, and to the Carrollton street car line. Close to Tulane and Loyola Universities, Audobon Park and Zoo. Minutes to the French Quarter, Casinos and River.
My daughter is a Tulane student, and I wanted a second home close by. I fell in love with the neighborhood and this house. I've completely redone the house to reflect my memories of Paris and the French country homes. It is my home when I am in New Orleans, and I'd love to share it with you when I am not here.
The Owner purchased this house in 2013
This is a beautiful original double shotgun home, built in the 1800s. It has been completely rebuilt to its new comfort and beauty with the highest standards. I've loved getting to know the neighborhood. Walk to Oak Street, have a drink and amazing food at Jacques Imo's, a New Orleans legend. Maple Street Pub has live music almost every night. Oak Street Bistro and Bar has wonderful food and an amazing wine / beer menu. The neighborhood is a wonderful mix of old and new. We have neighbors who have lived here all their lives, and others who young professionals, doctors, artists and musicians, giving the neighborhood a new spirit.
We stayed in Suzy's home over Memorial Day for my husband's 50th birthday. The home is spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The patio was shady and perfect for morning coffee or afternoon cocktails. It is in walking distance of several good restaurants with a traditional New Orleans flair. Suzy is great to work with and very helpful in making our stay perfect.
This house is amazing, location, cleanliness all top of the line. The host provides everything and more that you could possibly need or want. Five of us women stayed for 6 glorious nights. The walk to the street car was safe and close. The restaurants in the area were amazing. Jacques Imos was a favourite, long lines but totally worth wait. The Maple Leaf Bar is right next door and they just put an out door bar table on the street. The Mellow Mushroom for Pizza was also delicious. The host of the property was easy to contact and super helpful. We used Posh Transportation for a lot of our rides, which I would also highly recommend. We had a wonderful stay in New Orleans and can't wait to return. I would highly recommend this home.
This is such an awesome place to stay after a day of sight seeing in New Orleans! The area has so much to offer to see and do , we were really going all day. The home was wonderful to come home to. So spacious! So well designed (and I am a designer) it really had the charm and feel of the city. The beds were so comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and even extras like fresh fruit, coffees for the Keurig, and things to drink. We were traveling with our two teens and they loved having their own rooms and bath to share. Our shower was huge and the bath was so well done. I really can't say enough. I've stayed in home away rentals before and they have all been great but this was by far my favorite!
First of all, the website pictures show such a pretty home, but truly, it's even more fabulous in person. It's luxurious but very comfortable. Fully stocked pantry with all the essentials. The beds are so comfortable too. Neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful (and we were there for Mardi Gras!) and neighbors are friendly.
We have stayed in home away/vrbo homes 8 times in NOLA, and this one was by far our favorite!
Outstanding property!. The layout, design, art work, kitchen, beds, bathrooms, every aspect of this remodel in on point. One unexpected plus, pantry and refrigerator was filled with basics. wine, condiments, coffee, sweeteners and lots more. A note from Suzy, "take what we want, just replace for next guest".
Just blocks from Trolley stop; never enough time to sample all the restaurants, but found some great ones in the neighborhood (Cow Bell, Camellia Grill, CIBO, Milk Bar, Refuel Café). We went to Destrehan Plantation and found the best "eat like the locals" restaurant, Port Side Restaurant in St. Rose, a few miles from Destrehan plantation. Best sweets, Sucre on Magazine St, best brownie, Mothers on Poydras St.
This property has such great attention to detail.
Conveniently located off Carrollton (street car line), 2 blocks from trendy Oak Street. Close to Tulane and Loyola University.
