Nestled on the scenic Coral Coast of Fiji's main island of Viti Levu, just a 1-1/2 hr drive south of Nadi Airport, rests the luxurious Villa La Jolla. This exquisite beachfront villa sits on 3/4 acre in a gated community, surrounded by a mature forest of coconut palms and nearly 110 ft of beach that fronts a lagoon with snorkeling just steps from your back door. This property is ideal for families or couples seeking relaxation with private swimming pool and spectacular views, yet proximate to high adventure activities.
A custom- designed residence built in 2009, Villa La Jolla offers all the comforts of home in an extraordinary setting. Three elegant rooms connect to a spacious lounge/kitchen with panoramic ocean views. Two of the rooms are oceanfront while the third looks into a tropical garden. Each room is air conditioned and contains an ensuite bath with shower (Orchid suite contains a large jetted spa tub) plush king-sized bed, 42' flat screen TV with DVD player and ceiling fans. A covered walkway conveniently adjoins each room to the central lounge/kitchen area.
The beautifully appointed lounge is air conditioned and equipped with a flat screen TV, Blu-ray DVD and satellite TV. The large, state-of- the- art kitchen features palmwood cabinetry fabricated by Fiji's famous Pacific Green Furniture Co., modern appliances and ample room for family dining.
Just outside, watch the waves sweep over the reef beyond the lagoon while relaxing in the horizon- edged beachfront pool with jacuzzi.
First, I want to apologize to Jerry. We stayed at this beautiful home over a year ago, and we each thought the other had written a review. We actually stayed in December 2015, but the site wouldn't take our date.
This was the ultimate vacation getaway, and completely exceeded our dreams. Jerry thought of every detail in building this amazing home, and we still cannot believe our good fortune in finding Villa La Jolla. Our children, who live in other countries joined us for the holidays, and unfortunately, no other vacation home we have shown them for next Christmas will even come close to this one. Dharna was a jewel and prepared some amazing meals for us. Every person we encountered during our stay in Fiji made us feel so welcome.
The home has everything you could possibly need. The rooms are comfortable and nicely done. The beach facing glass doors all fold open to have a completely open unabstructed view. The pool appears to flow into the surf. Just perfect! Thank you Jerry for providing such a memorial stay for our family.
From the moment we arrived it was prefect. Realised perfection did exist. Everything you thought you needed was there. Nothing was an issue. Dharna (housekeeper) was very accommodating including doing a magnificent Fijian Christmas lunch. If you want a piece of paradise La Jolla is the place. Thank you Jerry. Hope to return one day.
The beach is awesome and the home has everything you could possibly need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Location is convenient to both Nadi and Suva attractions. The grocery across the street is convenient, but overpriced and limited. Best get what you need in Nadi or Suva. Jerry goes out of his way to make sure things are perfect. I highly recommend staying here if you love the ocean and peace and quiet
My family spent 11 blissful days at Villa La Jolla and found it to be a true gem. The villa lives up to its beautiful pictures and the views of the ocean are both breathtaking and soothing. The cook/housekeeper Dharna is wonderful and proved her versatility by creating delicious dishes that worked for two vegetarians, including one gluten free (we were able to bring in an unopened bag of GF flour from the states, no prob), and two non-vegetarians. The house managers are easily reached if there are any issues and can provide many recommendations for activities. The best place to shop is the new market near the roundabout in Sigatoka (if I recall right it is a Shop n' Save, beware tiny parking lot!) and the open air market nearby has the best variety of and ridiculously low prices for veggies. There is a store within walking distance of the villa for essentials, but don't expect much variety and veggies cost a fortune there. There also is a gas station, bank and ATM near the villa. Up the road a bit is a good pizza place for those who have less adventurous food yearnings. The villa location is about an hour from Pacific Harbour diving outfits (try the shark dive and soft coral reef dive) and whitewater rafting tours (upper Navua Gorge, great fun!), and roughly an hour and one half (in the other direction) from Denaru where you can take catamarans to visit the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, many of which have resorts or bures so you can spend a few days if you like. My daughter and I had great fun taking a day trip on the Yasawa Flyer (run by Awesome Adventures) to Barefoot Kuata island where we snorkled with the reef sharks and enjoyed a nice lunch. I have to say that 11 days went by too fast and I hope to get back to this lovely villa again soon!
We stayed there last week, with my mum and dad, mum is in her early 70s and dad is in his early 80s the house was perfect for all of us. My husband and I snorkel and took the kayaks out, while mum and dad layed by the pool. The house had everything you would ever need. Even a lovely young lady that cleaned daily and a young guy came to clean the pool and around the place.. we will be going back next year for sure. Stay here you won't be disappointed
My wife and two teenage daughters stayed in Villa La Jolla for two weeks in August. We have stayed in homes all over the world and our company provides services to the luxury home market in the US and by any standard this is a very nice home. It’s obvious that significant effort was spent on the architectural design, engineering and build. Without reservation I would recommend this property, it it everything described and more. Jerry was great to work with, Dharna came almost everyday and cooked and cleaned inside while Ashneel cleaned the pool and worked on the yard/garden. They were both very accommodating. Day1 Ashneel showed us around the various markets in Sigatoka so we could stock up on food - I even joined Ashneel’s family for kava that afternoon! The people in Fiji are unbelievably nice and generous people.
You could easily spend weeks and not hardly leave the tranquil, relaxing environment of the villa. There is a small market, ATM, liquor store and gas station and even a rental car place within easy walking distance. Before leaving the airport we picked up a SIM chip for an iPad (super easy & cheap) and rented a SUV. We did too much to mention but highlights would be; relaxed at the villa, hot-tub/pool, snorkeled, kayaked, stand up board (all included), watched breaching whales while eating great pizza at nearby Eco Café, Mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Beqa Adventure Divers shark dive (AA+), dove in front of the villa with Diveaway Fiji located at the nearby Hideaway resort, ice-cream at nearby Warwick resort (ask for Posita tell her Todd said bula), Navua River Rafting w/ Moses (A+), hiked to nearby Biausevu Waterfall (ask Ashneel to call his friend) and so much more.
This was my 2nd trip to Fiji and even with all the wonderful things I mentioned my family said the highlight and most memorable part of our trip was the time we spent with the people of Fiji. We took loads of school supplies for the children and spent hours in different villages. The Fijian people are by worldly standards poor but I would rank a few of the villagers I met as the richest people I’ve ever had the privilege to talk with. Give yourself a memorable treat, skip the big resort and stay at the Villa La Jolla and experience the real Fiji and you too will understand why they say Fiji is one of the happiest place on earth.
For what it’s worth, I found it helpful for my arrival to have the GPS coordinates of the villa which are: 18°12'10.9"S 177°40'21.9"E
Located between Nadi International Airport and Suva, this location offers easy access to the capitol city of Suva, nearby hotels and restaurants, including a newly built grocery/liquor store and a cafe just a short walk across the main highway. Local activities include snorkeling, excellent diving, horseback riding, waterfall and rainforest tours, golf , fishing. A 45-minute drive to the east you will find Pacific Harbor, known as the adventure capital of Fiji. Shark dive, ATV off-road tours and river rafting just to name a few of the adventure activities you'll find. For surfers, nearby Hideaways features one of the few paddle out surf breaks on the island, world famous Cloudbreak. Restaurants and Namotu Island are also accessible via local boats, but does require a 45-minute drive to the west.
