Space 2,100 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Living Areas, 3 Covered Porches, 2 1/2 Baths, Sleeps 11

This beautiful piece of heaven is perfect for a couple or a large family. It was completely renovated in 2010 and has CENTRAL air conditioning. It is on the banks of Lake Erie and has every amenity you would expect from the word 'luxury.' WIFI, Cable, Pottery Barn 400 thread sheets, Vera Wang towels, Cuisinart appliances and cookware, and place settings for 16.

Truly a touch of peaceful serenity. There are 3 porches plus a 3-seasons room off the back. The master bedroom has French doors that open onto a private upper deck. The master also sports a coffee bar and small frig just to make life a little easier.

The house sleeps 11 but there are so many special places to go, you hardly know there are others in the house. There is a natural gas grill on the back deck, (just turn it on) with TWO refrigerators downstairs. In the evening there is a great firepit for family time and roasting marshmallows while you watch some of the USA's top ten most incredible sunsets. (Firewood included.)

There is private beach access just down the block and there is a guarded sandy beach and playground a mile away at Freeport. The quaint little historic town of North East has a square in the center complete with statue and fountain. It is a sweet little area with a Farmer's Market on Thursday morning, and live concerts and kid friendly events all summer long. Stop in at 'For Olde Tymes Sake' and shop for some great antiques.

Mercyhurst College, a restored seminary dating back over 130 years ago is just outside of town and a gorgeous landmark in the area. In town you will also find Bella Day Salon and Spa for a great massage in a Victorian elegant mansion.

The food in the area is amazing. Foodies will love the authentic local Italian, Polish and German cuisines. We will leave you a list of some of our favorites.

We can't leave out that this is a 'Fisherman's Paradise.' With walleye and Lake Erie perch Charters available daily to fly fishing in local creeks for incredible trout. If you're not catching, you're not showing up.

Don't forget to book your time for the gorgeous Autumn leaves. You walk outside and the smell of fresh grapes permeates the air. Pumpkin patches, apple cider, gorgeous leaves and late summer vegetables are everywhere.

Winter will offer you lots of opportunity to take advantage of Peek 'N Peak Resort and Spa, only 20 miles up the road. Snow skiing, ski-dooing, tubing, cross country skiing and just plain winter fun.

You are more than welcome to come visit our gorgeous vacation home no matter what the season. And we know you will love it as much as everyone else who has come to visit.

I could totally live in a house like this!

  • 5 of 5

Great spaces, and especially if you have good weather, wonderful outdoor amenities. Convenient access, close to town, right on the lake. Without using couches, this sleeps 4 adults and 3 kids easily. The third bedroom is a bunkbed with trundle bed. The bunks will sleep adults, but the trundle is for teens or younger. Master bath suite is enormous and fabulous! Kitchen is awesome. It's a country house, but elegant, well-kept and spacious.

Wine Country Weekend

  • 4 of 5

The house was beautiful. The view from the back yard was beautiful. I would definitely stay here again but would change one thing. There were not enough towels for the seven of us to us therefore we had to use towels from the close and wash those before we left. Since there is a housekeeping fee included in the rental, I would take my own towels to use so I did not have to spend my last night washing and drying cloths.

Also the room with the bunk beds showed as another twin in the room. Instead it was a trundle bed which was useless to us.

My family loved this place and we had a great time. The area was very peaceful and relaxing and it was nice to get away. Definitely worth checking out.

Outdoor decks, railings and furniture filthy

  • 3 of 5

The home is quite lovely and clean inside. We enjoyed the atmosphere.

However, one of the main reasons we decided on this property was all of the outdoor spaces to play games, share meals and chat. These spaces were very dirty and sticky.

I also was not aware that the nearby community water space was so difficult to get to. The trail leading to the water was not easy to navigate.

Owner's Response: The outside sticky problem is caused by a maple tree close to the deck. This is the first time in years that this has happened, the area was pressure washed but it is hard to keep up with Mother Nature when she makes the tree continue to drop sticky sap. The access to the water is Freeport beach which is 1mile west from the house and.has picnic pavilions, rest rooms, guarded beaches.

We enjoyed are stay are only concern was the drop off at the end of the property. With having small children we had to constantly monitor the young ones. Putting up a small fence I think would greatly improve this situation. Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home. Randy bobb

Gorgeous home, peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

We usually rent vacation homes in the Outer Banks, but have been searching for a nice destination with a shorter drive so that we could take the grandchildren. This home was perfect--beautifully decorated, clean, and very comfortable. The kitchen was large and generously equipped to make meals a breeze. Sunsets on the lake were so nice. The drive from the house to Presque Isle was easy and scenic with most of it passing by vineyards and farms. It was a wonderful vacation. We shall rent this home again since the grandchildren are already missing "our" lake house.
