Linda and Bob were very accommodating and great hosts. The cabin is an incredible retreat set back from the road by a long driveway lined with pines. The cabin is very cozy and has movies and games the whole family can enjoy when not hiking trails or seeing the many state parks in the area. The amenities made it easy to cook our own meals and it was a pleasure to have a fantastic view of the woods and creek. We look forward to visiting again.
This was our second stay at the cabin. The hosts are attentive and a pleasure to work with, while providing privacy enough that you feel you are alone in the woods. The cabin is well equipped and very cozy. There are nicely groomed trails in the woods with lots of wildlife to hear and see. We enjoyed sitting in the living area looking out on the creek. Highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to enjoy nature and each other's company!
This was our second stay on the Caldwell's property, and just as before we had a wonderful relaxing time. Robert and Linda are kind and welcoming hosts. the cabin is always in good repair, and we love the updates to the veranda. We will be back soon!
I brought my young niece and nephew for an unplugged getaway in the woods, and it was a surprisingly delightful experience. The cabin is tiny but has two bedrooms, and the entire south side of it overlooks a brook and wooded ravine. I could have sat and looked out the window for hours. Even though it was end of October, there was still lots to keep the kids' interest: fishing in the brook, walking on the trails on the property, making marshmallows around the campfire, and a shelf full of games.
The owners live in a building within sight of the cabin, which made it feel safe despite being located several miles from the nearest town and about a half a mile back from the road. A highlight for the kids was visiting the owners' home to feed the chickens and the koi fish. They even hand-drew a map to help us find a local fishing spot. Very friendly and accommodating. I hope to be back for a mini-retreat sometime soon.
Note: While there is a hot plate and microwave, the only oven is a toaster oven. If you don't need frills, this is a wonderful place to rest and rejuvenate.
Also, if traveling with family, note that the two single beds in one of the two bedrooms with can be pushed together, but the bedroom door will not close, so privacy is limited.
This cabin was the perfect getaway for what we were looking for. We wanted a short little getaway from home where we could enjoy the beauty of autumn, and this was it! We have two kids and a dog and the cabin accommodated us just fine. We loved looking out the big window wall that looks out over the stream both during the day and at night with the floodlight. Linda and Robert were such kind-hearted hosts and gave us a tour of the koi pond and chicken pen. They even scouted out some fresh eggs that we enjoyed for breakfast the next morning. We didn't need to leave the cabin for anything, and enjoyed walking the trails on the property, taking in all the nature around us, and watching a few family movies together at night. There was a grill and a campfire at our disposal too. Just perfect. So charming. Loved our stay! We'll probably be back again next year.
Linda and Bob were very welcoming, they showed us they're koi and lily ponds and introduced us to the chickens and their beautiful rescue dogs. The cabin was very well stocked and clean upon arrival. The property was gorgeous and very tranquil and relaxing, you really felt you had gotten away from it all. We can't wait to go back and are already plannng our next visit.
