Best VRBO ever

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in many VRBOs in the US and Europe, and this was the most fun. Our hosts, Barry & Sue, made it a special trip. We arrived at 1 am, and the key was in the mailbox; there were chocolates and coffee waiting for the next day - and fresh flowers. The place is small, but offers everything you could want. The towels were soft, the sheets smelled wonderful, the water was hot! This was a great place to visit Portland - even though it was 30 degrees and windy. I would recommend this studio apartment to any couple wanting a great place to stay; congenial hosts; and comfort .

The property is lovely- a quaint Victorian in the heart of the arts district of Portland

We absolutely loved our stay here and hope to return every year. Sue and Barry were wonderful with loads of recommendations. The apartment was perfect with a small kitchenette stocked with coffee and cream and little snacks. The bed was comfortable with lots of wonderful natural light- and what an amazing bathroom! We were in walking distance to everything if you don’t mind a bit of a walk. But close by we ate at Hot Suppa and had fabulous drinks at brumhall. Really this apartment is the perfect stay in Portland. We were there for three nights. Each morning we had coffee and relaxed - it really felt like home. I highly recommend it.

Excellent!!

  • 5 of 5

Our hosts, Sue and Barry, were so gracious and friendly. Right from the start, they provided helpful tips and recommendations for restaurants and shops. The room was just as advertised...comfortable bed, new bathroom (great shower), kitchenette. They went out of their way to make our stay perfect including providing fresh flowers, coffee and snack. Great communication leading up to and during our stay. We'll definitely return on our next visit! John & Maureen

Would recommend!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent 3 nights in this rental vacationing. It was close to shops, restaurants, and parks. The bed was comfortable and the rental was very clean. Sue and Barry are very accommodating and readily available while still respecting your privacy. The small touches they provided (fresh coffee and flowers, other local goodies) made us feel welcome and special! I would 100% recommmend this rental.

Great location with plenty of walking opportunities to activities.

  • 5 of 5

The owners were fantastic from the beginning. Shared info on the apartment and the neighborhood. Nicely appointed studio with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Sue and Barry had treats and fresh flowers in our room. Fresh coffee and cream made mornings a pleasure. They made our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely be back!!!

great location

  • 4 of 5

The little studio is close to everything. There are plenty of restaurants within the walking distance. Sue and Barry were extremely helpful and full of great information and advice. Sue is wonderful and willing to help to assist you with anything (e.g. she found me a hair saloon that works Sundays).

The reason this place is not 5 stars for us is that the studio is really tiny (the pictures are deceiving) and the bed was a bit on the firm side and it was uncomfortable for us due to the back issues we have. We wanted a bigger space than a hotel room and we got a smaller one.

Overall I recommend this place to anyone that visit Portland. Please, don't miss a trip to Old Orchard Beach to check out a wonderful beach and have lunch at Rising Tide.

Thank you again Sue and Garry for sharing your home with us. You are wonderful hosts!

Best regards,

Adina

Owner's Response: So sorry you felt the bed was too firm. It is certainly hard to find the right comfort when you have back problems. It was nice to meet you. Best wishes!
