About Susan

A dream for our entire marriage of 35 years, we finally completed a beautiful, warm and welcoming log home in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire. It has been a gratifying labor of love and we are so proud of our accomplishment. We hope you feel as stress free during your stay as we do when we escape from the stressors of daily life.

Susan purchased this house in 2014

Why Susan chose White Mountains

Our adult children learned how to ski at ages 4 and 9 at Cannon Mountain and we have been hooked on the area since then. Always knowing we wanted a second home in the area, we looked at many houses and properties and knew right away that this piece of heaven was for us. We finally started to actually build the log shell in January of 2013. Who starts to build in NH in January? Amazingly, it went up pretty quickly and we built it over the next 15 months.

What makes this house unique

There is something about the beautiful towns of Bethlehem and Littleton and the surrounding area that draws us up north as much as possible. Waking up to the beautiful mountain views and knowing that you can do as much as you want--hiking, swimming, golfing, skiing--or as little--resting, eating, driving around--no pressure. Do what you want. Main Street, Littleton is filled with shop after shop of entertaining shopping experiences. Summer, autumn and winter are wonderlands of activities and experiences. Build your family and friendship memories in a beautiful, peaceful and interesting setting.

great base of operations

  • 4 of 5

Was here on a family vacation of 6 adults doing light hiking.

**Pros**

Beautiful home -- new construction, modern finishes inside

Amazing views across a valley and the mountains beyond

Quiet and secluded

Great location to get to Bethlehem, Sugar Hill, and the hiking on the north side of the White Mountains

WiFi was solid

Good selection of pots and pans and kitchen stuff to use.

**Cons**

Somehow, about 100 black flies in the interior. Not exaggerating.

Vacuum cleaner didn't work and no dust pan was provided.

Dearth of hand towels.

Knives are were dull and unsafe to use, making cooking a little painful.

One of the bathroom doors doesn't latch.

No light at the bottom of the exterior stairs makes nighttime walking more exciting than maybe you'd like it to be.

Pool cues have no tips.

Firepit is nice, but the stonework is very uneven, making moving around the fire in the dark a tripping hazard.

Almost no food supplies were present. Bring your own spicerack.

Immaculate Log Cabin was perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

I recently arranged for 4 couples to stay at this home for two nights during our motorcycle tour of New England. This home was perfect in every way. All four couples thought the same. All the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for all 8 of us. I will be recommending this home to other friends that may be traveling to upper NH as a great place to stay. Also, my deposit was refunded in full very quickly. Thank you Susan for sharing your home with us.

GORGEOUS! COMFORTABLE! BREATHTAKING VIEWS!

  • 5 of 5

The property is absolutely gorgeous and just as pictured on the website. We visited the property for a family reunion with 11 family members (all adults) from 4 different states. This home comfortably sleeps 12 in beds with an additional pullout sofa bed in a separate room that could sleep 2 more if the current room/bed arrangements don't work for you. The view from the expansive rear deck will leave you breathless. We all sat around the campfire in the back yard (there is plenty of dead kindling in the surrounding woods), and our nephew strummed his guitar while we all sang songs and reminisced.

Susan was spectacularly easy to work with and we will definitely be making this an annual family event at Sue's lovely home and are already looking forward to next year's gathering!

We absolutely give this property 5 stars and recommend it highly!

Beautiful house and views

  • 5 of 5

We stayed as a group while visiting the area for the wedding, and couldn't be happier with our stay! The house is in a wooded location yet a convenient distance to area attractions and restaurants. Plenty of beds for everyone! Everything inside looks brand new, and it was very clean. The views from the living room and loft are amazing! Sue was very helpful with everything and answered all my questions promptly.

Amazing weekend!

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for lots of room, a beautiful view, and easy access to all of your NH childhood memories (The Flume, The Gorge, The Basin, Santa's Village, Clark's Trading Post, Mt. Washington's Cog Railway, etc.) then look no further. We stayed at this beautiful home from 8/12 - 8/15 with 4 adults and 5 children and we still had room to spare! The weather was beautiful, with cool nights and warm days. The owner of the home, Sue, couldn't have been more accommodating with quick responses to email, calls, and texting. Upon arrival there is a 3 ring binder with instructions on EVERYTHING in the home which alleviated a lot of the stress of potential accidents. Definitely looking forward to making this location a family tradition. Thank you Sue!
