Spacious, luxuriously furnished, upscale apartment located in the heart of historic downtown Newport on the second floor of the Anna Pell House (circa 1876) across from the award winning Vanderbilt Grace Hotel. The unit has two bedrooms (a master bedroom with a queen sized bed and a second bedroom with a twin daybed and pull-out trundle that can be pushed together to make a queen); gourmet eat-in kitchen; large living room with a full sleeper sofa, open beams and fireplace; and full bath.

The 1250 square feet, second floor residence has a large living room/dining area that is perfect for social get togethers. Please note that although we want our guests to enjoy their vacations, we are not a "party house".

The Anna Pell House rental apartment is light and airy with amenities that include: private entrance, one off-street parking space, hardwood floors, washer/dryer, WiFi, flat screen TV, air conditioning, ceiling fans, ample closets, storage space, and smart DVD. Enjoy the ambiance of Newport's sunrises and sunsets in the privacy of the apartment or in the award-winning garden.

Our downtown location is ideal to easily enjoy the many aspects of the city that make Newport such a sought after vacation destination - the Historic Hill district, museums and galleries, Thames Street, downtown, and Broadway. You can find many of the best restaurants and city highlights within easy walking distance.

Specifically, we are one block from Thames Street; a 2-5 minute walk to many shops & restaurants. Easy walking distance to Newport's historic attractions, fine dining facilities, theaters, parks, shopping, libraries, and farmers' market. Commuting options include access to public transportation and convenient biking around town, to area beaches, and the Ocean Drive. Short bike ride or commute to Naval Station Newport, the Naval War College, and Salve Regina University.

My husband and I work locally and live on the first floor of the Anna Pell House. We take great pride in our property and maintain it in impeccable condition. We are very responsive to our tenants' needs. We deal with all of our guests' requirements, inquiries and needs directly – from key exchanges, cleaning, repairs, and anything in between. Our property is fully furnished and has all the amenities of home.

Katie and Nord were very hospitable and very helpful. The apartment is on the top floor. Its very clean and specious. Everything was provided, from bed sheets and towels to utensils in a full kitchen and even beach chairs. Highly recommended.

Discover Newport and stay here!

Two couples staying in Newport for the weekend, thoroughly enjoyed their home away from home at the Anna Pell House! The two bedroom, one bath, eat in kitchen and large living room had everything you can think of to make our weekend comfortable and enjoyable. Don't let the trundle bed steer you away...the mattresses are comfy and the trundle lifts up so it can be used as a separate twin bed or pushed together to snuggle with your someone special!

The weather was on our side and we parked our car and walked to everything in downtown historic Newport. Although Katie and Nord live downstairs, you only saw or heard from them if you needed them..they really gave you your privacy! There is a great binder that informs you about the history of the Anna Pell house, so make sure you read it...it will make you appreciate staying there even more!

Great Location!

We went to Newport for the weekend with another couple. The apartment was awesome! Had everything you needed, very clean and the location was just as great. We walked everywhere except for when we went to the cliffs. It was a great weekend, the owners were very accommodating. There are a lot of restaurants in the area - we had a great time and would definitely stay there again.

Absolutely loved it!!

Our stay at the Anna Pell house was perfect. We wanted something close to everything so we could walk and explore, and we needed somewhere comfortable to relax and unwind. This was both, and the owners Katie and Nord could not have been more welcoming. Everything you need is provided, and some! We can not wait to get back to Newport, and hope to stay at the Anna Pell house again. Highly recommend it!

Impressive, elegant apartment with fabulous hosts!

What a beautiful, spacious apartment in a perfect location! Close to shops, cafes and restaurants and within easy reach of the local beaches, cliff walks and mansions, this property is a real find! The apartment is very well-equipped with everything you could possibly need for both self-catering and relaxation. The attention to detail is impressive- there are even beach chairs and cool boxes etc that you are welcome to use. Nord and Katie are indeed the perfect hosts - they were quick to respond to any queries both before and during our stay and are very friendly and helpful, with a wealth of local knowledge. The car parking space was an added bonus. I would have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful apartment!

Home away from home

Katie and Nord, our hosts, immediately made us feel right at home. They are two of the most endearing and accommodating people we've ever met. They have thought of just about everything a guest could possibly need, both for the apartment and the beach as well. And their apartment is not only well appointed but immaculately clean. They live on the first floor so unlike some absentee landlord they are always on top of everything, yet with a separate entrance you have complete privacy and feel almost as though you have the place to yourselves.

As other reviewers have pointed out, the location is ideal. You are literally steps from Newport Harbor, dozens of shops and eateries in nearly any direction, and surrounded by colonial history with the William Vernon house directly across the street. The Newport mansions are just a few minutes away by car, and the beaches are short drive as well. With this location, the importance of Katie and Nord providing their only driveway to their guests for off-street parking cannot be overstated. Parking in the historic area of Newport is a limited commodity, so having your own private parking in a central location of historic Newport eliminates the time, cost, and stress of parking in the area.

Katie and Nord also know Newport and the surrounding area well, so they are a great resource for restaurant and attraction recommendations.

The apartment is both comfortable and spacious. It is ideal for small families. Our family of four, us parents with a college senior and a high school junior, had all the space we needed and then some. The bathroom is larger than those in most hotels, and the main room is huge. It was great to return after a day of walking through Newport, some mansions, or Fort Adams and have the space for all of us to relax in front of the TV with Netflix or surf the web on our tablets/laptops with their WiFi, without being in each other's way. If you are looking for a party atmosphere, this is NOT it. But it is a great home away from home for those looking to explore the Newport area and have a great, low stress, relaxing vacation.
