Charming Spanish style beach retreat for the beach lover! 'Ebb Tide' is one of three units in our Triplex ('High Tide' and 'Low Tide' are the other two)...an amazing location gives you a peaceful home yards from the white sand beaches and beautiful Atlantic Ocean without any streets to cross (East side of A1A beach blvd)! The triplex is a legal vacation rental - no risk of having your vacation spot cancelled due to unlicensed renting! Rent all 3 units for a family gathering! Got pets? Bring them too - it's a pet friendly beach, and we have a fenced in yard for their roaming freedom! Dog door available on request! Walking distance to great restaurants (Mango Mango's, BeachComber, Taco Shack!), the Pier with a water park, bocce ball, volleyball, concerts and markets or take the beach trolley to the historic city and downtown attractions only 5 miles away.
For the adventurous, take surf lessons from the local surf shops, surf camp activities, or visit the Alligator Zoo to Zip Line and traverse the obstacle course while seeing the wildlife.
When you've done all you can do outside, come back and enjoy the wide selection of movies (or good old cable TV) with our new entertainment center. We have a fully equipped kitchen - and if you get there and think 'she should have ____' let me know and if it seems like a good idea, it will be delivered!
Time to sleep....well if you have to! We have a master with a King bed and the sliding glass door that leads to the backyard. The second bedroom has a set of bunks - a double over double, and two single beds. The couch in the living room also has a pull-out bed and there is a futon too. Unique art from local galleries and Sage-Photographs graces the walls - the beach will inspire the artists in all of us - paint and easels can be supplied upon request!
We're proud to say we're getting 'repeat' guests which is the greatest compliment of all!

'Life's a Beach' defines me! Laurie is your proprietors here. I grew up as a Navy-brat living in the Azores Portugal and Brussels Belgium, always finding a seaside location as I traveled. I'm in technology sales and a weekend-realtor in FL and NC. My passion is the beach and ocean - I moved to the Outer Banks of NC in 2004, learned to love beach life and have explored beaches around the world creating adventures as I go! I made St.Augustine my permanent residence in 2012 and I want everyone to get a chance to explore beaches so began creating beach havens to allow friends, family and now you to enjoy our favorite beaches in the quirky comfort of our homes!
When not on beach adventures, I kayak, boat, take my rescue-dogs Nemo and Ollie out for runs, and spend lots of time on the tennis courts. I'm also a licensed Realtor in NC and FL and can help you find a place of your own once you fall in love with my favorite beach areas!
Laurie Sage Royal purchased this house in 2011
In 2004 I began visiting St. Augustine and my parents bought a property in the historic district. I'd often stay with them or the St.Francis Inn B&B, and fell in love with the local beaches of St. Augustine.... the real estate bug caught me as usual and I found this perfect home in the summer of 2011. This is a Triplex - if 'Ebb Tide' is rented, we can see if the other two are available. Have a big group? Rent all three units for 6 total bedrooms to have togetherness yet privacy!
I also have beach property in the Outer Banks of North Carolina - come visit there too!
The beach sunrises are absolutely stunning from our property - take your coffee (add some Baileys!), sleepily walk to the beach and enjoy the peace, sun colors and sounds of birds blended with waves. SWEET!
Golf Fan? The TPC is just north of us....drive the scenic route up through Ponte Vedra and enjoy the courses and watch the pros!
Tennis, anyone? Public and private courts are available - I can set you up with matches of any level at the two clubs I belong to.
Prefer to be in the water? You've got it! Activities to be had everywhere, snorkeling, rent kayaks, jet skis or take a boat tour of the historic river.
Love it so much here that you're looking for real estate of your own? I am an agent at St. Augustine Realty - I can help you find the home of your dreams if you don't have a Realtor already!
Staying at Ebb Tide for my 10 year anniversary was such a lovely and unique experience. Laurie was always very quick to respond to any questions or concerns and she was incredibly kind and accommodating. You are literally walking distance from the beach, and just a stone's throw from the bridge to the beach. It takes about 15 minutes to get to downtown Saint Augustine, which felt very fast with the beautiful scenery of the bridge. It took us about 2-5 minutes to get there and it's a pretty private walk. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and pretty private, and we went while it was cloudy and sometimes rainy! Laurie provides beach chairs and umbrellas under the car port, but you might want to bring your own since they're a bit rusted. Word of warning: Don't take your beach umbrella to the beach if the winds are high -- it will invert! lol The house itself reminds me a lot of the Keys (as does Saint Augustine Beach in general), old with charm and well-kept. You might also want to bring your own beach and bath towels as the ones provided are a bit thin and rough. Also, be careful stepping in and out of the shower, as they are not at the same level -- I almost tripped on my way out the first time lol. There is a very convenient fenced-in yard accessible from the master bedroom, and a second bedroom with bunkbeds and twin beds. Having a washer and dryer available at a beach rental is very useful. The access from the carport was one of my favorite features as well, since it gives privacy and covers you if it's raining. I think the pictures don't do the house justice; the main living area is actually much bigger than it appears in the pictures, and was definitely my favorite "spot" to hang out in the house. The neighborhood felt very safe and beachy. There is some construction going on at a nearby house, but you won't hear any noises or be bothered by it at all. You may have trouble planning your trip since you'll find you want to stay on the island a lot, but also go downtown a lot! There were so many things to do. As for restaurants on the actual island, I think SaltLife Food Shack was a bit overrated, but Sunset Grille was excellent, as was a French bakery called Les Petit Pleasures (order the Spinach and Cheese on a croissant and any crepe!), which looks not-so-great from the outside but is truly a hidden gem. Also, Beachcomber was a pleasant surprise -- the carrot cake is amazing! We will definitely be back! Thanks again for everything Laurie!
My husband and I rented Ebb Tide from Laurie this past winter and felt so much at home we did not want to leave. It is a lovely and welcoming place. Laurie warmly greeted us and oriented us to the house, the neighborhood , the beautiful beach just a few steps away, and the town itself. She provided bikes for us to ride and many household amenities. Ebb Tide is bright, spacious and cozy all at the same time. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our dog and for late afternoon reading. We loved the accommodations, perfect for us and large enough for family to visit. We enjoyed the quiet and leisurely life as well as the short stroll to the beautiful beach . We have already booked with Laurie for next winter for a much longer time in our home away from home.
This is a nice beach house that is two houses from the beach. The beach in this area is very nice as it has dunes with sea oats and a broad expanse of beach. The beach is so large you don't feel crowded. You can surf or watch the surfers here and have miles in either direction to walk or ride bikes.
There are excellent restaurants in the area and it is ten minutes to the OLD TOWN. We had a car but I did notice there was good public transportation to Town.
The home was previously a large six BR home which has been broken into two units. The home is older but has all the amenities. The place is well kept if you remember that it is an older beach house and not place too high of expectations on it. People used to luxury or "new" might be happier in a condo. The best part is the price for the location makes this an exceptional value.
My daughter took her little dog who enjoyed the large living room and back yard to play. It was like having a home near the beach.
The perfect beach home in the perfect spot. Spacious rooms. Wonderful fenced in back yard. Beach chairs, bikes, towels and much more provided. Second house from a beach walkway. Restaurants 3 houses down but on A1A so no car traffic. Everything about this home makes a wonderful vacation. Close to magnificent St. Augustine with it's great restaurants, art galleries, fun shopping, and history at every step. Long relaxing walks on the dog friendly beach with my 2 dogs...no kennel for them. Watching the surfers and paddle boarders. Truely something for all ages. I left today and am ready to return!
Terrific place! I loved the large open living room with lots of seating and room to do yoga in front of the big screen tv! It's a small backyard, but fenced, so it's wonderful if you have pets. I really liked the deep kitchen counters as well because some rentals have no counter space in the kitchen. The cabinets are a bit full, so it was a little tricky finding a place to put food if you are staying for awhile.... but with that included every possible item you could need! The washer and dryer work great and are in their own little handy closet. Laurie is a very nice host and didn't miss a beat on details for the place. She was even kind enough to bring me over a new dvd when I was having issues with the one there. I would most definitely rent this place again!!
Location! Location! Location! Loved the beach access a stones throw away, with views from living room. Beautiful hard flat beaches and loved Hammock park walk way. Enjoyable running ! Loved the walking distance to multiple restaurants and surf shop. We love destination walks esp for food and drinks. We frequented the Taco Shack and loved Salt Life roof top seating. The backyard was perfect space for our (2) 35-lb dogs and we enjoyed bbq'ing burgers on back patio. Bathrooms def need updating, but rest of house was clean and in great condition. Living room more spacious than pics reveal. Laurie was very helpful with information and assistance with anything we needed. We usually stay downtown historic district but loved having our dogs with us for the holidays and enjoying the beach-side for first time. Drove into historic district multiple times and loved quick drive time from house. Recommend parking before bridge for hassle-free parking, free parking, and a scenic walk! Would def stay at Ebb Tide for future visits!
