This place was perfect for 3 adults and our 3 teenagers. Easy walk from the ferry and after it a long day in the city it was great to escape the lights and noise for our nights on the island. A short walk down the hill is Steiny's pub - a great place to grab a drink!
Lynn was so helpful and kind - wonderful host! We will return!
Fishbach - Clean and well taken care of
This house was perfect for 7 of us and a baby. My husband and I and the kids took the upstairs and my mother and father in law took the one room and sister in law and her husband the other room on the main floor. We felt so welcomed with all the directions and take out menus along with the welcoming beer and wine and cheese! We almost wish we could have stayed longer. We aren't used to the city so just a warning on parking, it's tough to find a spot. Everyone parks on the street wherever there is room. Besides that, everything was perfect! Lynn was so sweet and made us feel so comfortable if there were any issues. Thank you both so much for a wonderful and comfortable stay!
Living like a local, Staten island style!
Coming to NYC for a few days and we decided to rent an apartment instead of hotels. This home ticked all the boxes for two families - space for 8 people, AC, comfort and access to Manhattan. Lynn was very helpful and prompt in all replies to us, she met us on our first day and left us beer, wine and snacks to get us going!
The house was great, top two floors of the building with a very pleasant man downstairs. It was clean, comfortable, had tons of room for everyone, including the entire top floor just for the kids. Well stocked kitchen and a fantastic decking area for chilling and eating.
The added bonus was an easy drive from Newark airport and the chance to live on Staten Island and travel on the ferry every day! 5-10 minute walk to the ferry terminal and then you relax and take in the views. Have no hesitation in recommending a stay here and will definitely come again! Thanks Lynn!
This house is old in a very charming way. It has been updated with modern conviniences which make it comfortable. We had a great time and would highly recommend to our friends. Bus, ferry, subway make NYC easy to explore.
Good home base for NYC adventures
The property is nice and quiet, and the owner is very helpful. The location is quite convenient for touring the city with just a short walk to the free Staten Island ferry.
The house was very well equipped but there was visible garbage and clutter on the outside and porches. There was plenty of room for our family but the king bed was extremely firm and very uncomfortable. Location was great.
Our apartment is within walking distance to the free Staten Island ferry, which goes directly to Lower Manhattan (the Wall Street area). From there, all of Manhattan is accessible. Wan to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island? Just walk 10 minutes into Battery Park, which is next to the ferry terminal, and get tickets for the ferry that goes there. (The Staten Island ferry passes the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, but does not stop at either one.) The Freedom Tower and the 9/11 Memorial is also walkable, as is the South Street Seaport.
Hop on the subway, which is directly in front of the terminal to get to the Empire State Building, Macy's, 42nd Street/Broadway, Central Park, 5th Ave, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and all of the NYC museums. You can get any neighborhood you want to go in NYC with the subway: Soho, the Village, Chelsea, the Bowery, Midtown, Gramercy, Union Square, the Upper West Side, the Upper East Side, and more. You can also travel to the other boroughs like Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.
Buses and taxis are also available outside of the ferry terminal in Manhattan if you prefer.
