Charming studio apartment, private terrace, beautiful mountain views.

Our beautiful little apartment is set over the main house and has a double bedroom with space for a travel cot for a baby or a single bed for a child, kitchen/sitting room and full bathroom as well as a private, shaded outdoor terrace where you can enjoy the amazing scenery and the sounds of birdsong. The pool area is just a few steps away with a large swimming pool and a smaller pool for toddlers as well as an outdoor shower. It is fenced for safety and has sun loungers and parasols so that you can relax and enjoy the sunshine or the shade!

There is ample on-site secure parking and we are fortunate to be just a short walk from the picturesque train station of Cortes de la Frontera. You can take the train to Ronda or further afield or pop in to one of the many great restaurants in the neighbouring villages for lunch and then either walk or take the train back.

In the nearest village of Estacion de Cortes, you will find a small supermarket, an excellent jamón shop, several bars serving very reasonably priced tapas and main meals and a hotel with a beautiful terrace for al fresco dining.

In the larger town of Cortes, which is 10 minutes away by car, you will find more supermarkets, bars and restaurants as well as several banks, the post office and a medical centre.

There are so many places to discover in this area! There are beautiful walks, horse-riding close by, gorgeous rivers, bike trails, yoga, massage and pilates, mosaicing classes and a wealth of historical and archeological sites to visit. The Costa del Sol and the Costa de la Luz are just one hour away and you can go whale and dolphin-watching near the Straits of Gibraltar or visit Gibraltar itself or kite-surf in Tarifa!

While there is plenty to do in the area, one of the nicest activities is to settle into the hammock in the shade of the walnut tree and relax!

Why Breda Keegan chose Benalauría

This is such a wonderful place; it is peaceful and the scenery is amazing but we are close to so many amenities as well. We came to this area in 2008 on holiday and loved how green and lush everything was even at the height of summer! We always promised ourselves that we would settle here and now our dream has come true!

Neat, clean comfortable and good location.

Directions to the property were exact (gps coordinates). It is gated and plenty of parking. The accommodations included a very clean and equipped kitchen and dining area. A separate bedroom with a memory foam mattress double bed. A patio with outdoor furniture as well as access to a swimming pool. The owners provided fresh spring water as well as tap water that was actually good and safe to drink. I'd say the water was better than our Kingsland, TX local water. Wifi service was a plus as well as adequate power outlets.

The most intangible benefit to the experience was our owners who were very friendly, helpful and interested in our journey. They provided us eggs, tomatoes, milk, butter, baguette and coffee for our breakfast the next morning. We had a great time and would go back someday.

Our property is a haven of peace and quiet but just a short walk away from a little village where you can find friendly, good-value bars with tapas and main meals, an excellent jamón shop and a little supermarket. The train station is small and picturesque and you can take the train to one of the neighbouring villages for a lovely lunch and then either walk or take the train back. We are close to sparkling, clean rivers, amazing prehistoric caves, beautiful walking routes and an hour away from the coast. It is the perfect spot for relaxing and recharging the batteries but also a great base for sight-seeing.
