Exclusive Villa with private pool a few steps from the beach!

Please checkout our other house, Villa Mango, listing # 3612132.

This graceful Caribbean property combines elegance and simplicity: this is the perfect escape to a tropical paradise just for you. It’s a must visit, with its precious beach, abundant colorful coral reefs minutes away for snorkeling and with Villa Gabi’s 21 feet fishing boat, just 20 minutes away from the famous Cayo Paraiso, ranked by CNN Travel in May 2013 ¨The 34th most beautiful beach in the world¨.

Villa Gabi is a great getaway, with its private gated property, exclusive coral sand & crystal water beach a few steps away, 3 bedrooms each with air-conditioning (OPTIONAL), 2 full bathrooms with water heater, 32”LED TV, cable TV service, wireless internet, private pool, large brick BBQ (Charcoil NOT PROVIDED) , hammock, open terrace and wooden deck, interactive fully equipped kitchen (NO MICROWAVE, NO DISHWASHER), washing machine, dryer, back up generator and a battery backup inverter to guaranty an enjoyable and comfortable stay with 24 hours of electricity.

Nearby, you can enjoy the culinary art of exquisite French Restaurants as well as typical Dominican food. A few feet away, you have “Paradise Island” a tour operator that offers excursions to tourists visiting Cayo Paraiso, this establishment’s restaurant also offers breakfast, lunch and dinner (dinner on demand) that can be served directly at Villa Gabi's table as if we were part of the restaurant: they also serve drinks to the public.

The perfect Dominican spot with one of the country’s least percentile of precipitation (it almost doesn't rain), a great condition to guaranty a wonderful outdoor vacation.

Personnel included: Our maid is available for daily cleaning and our gardener sleeps on the premises in a hut outside to assure your safety and comfort.

Punta Rucia is located at 60 km from Puerto Plata city.

Our driver is always available for airport pick up and drop-off from Puerto Plata or Santiago’s International Airport for a maximum of 4 guests + luggages in our SUV and in our Chevrolet Express van we offer services for up to 8 plus luggages.

The use of the Villa’s 21 feet fishing boat for rides, fishing and water sports is available at an extra cost, including an experienced captain and all the necessary equipment.

The use of the air-conditioning is available at an extra cost per night (US$35 for all 3 rooms). Each room includes a fan at no extra cost.

A minimum of 5 nights stay is required.

Additional Information & FEES:

We offer airport pick up/ drop off: for parties of 4 people or less, we charge US$150 each way for airport pickup and drop-off from and to the airports mentioned above. We personally do the pick-up and drop-off in our SUV, if we're unable our driver is always available. This is paid after the service is offered. If you are over 4 people, we have a minivan for up to 8 people plus luggage, the cost is US$200. from Puerto Plata and Santiago airport. In the pick up we include one hour waiting at the supermarket, if other stops are required the cost is USD$ 50 extra per hour or hour fraction. If pick up or drop off are in night time (6:00 pm- 8:00 am) the cost is US$250 and USD$ 300, respectively.

We really don't recommend our guests to rent cars as traffic can get very hectic (a lot of people don't respect the traffic signs and there are a LOT of motorcycles), streets aren't well signaled and GPS (or google map) is not to be trusted, as it can take you off roads. We have had guests taking up to 8 hours when we usually take 1.5-2 hours from the airport to the house. Most of our guests who rent cars regret doing so. But of course this is ultimately your decision.

We have a BBQ, but charcoal is not included and is to be bought in the supermarket.

In Punta Rusia there is only a very small market with the most basic items: eggs, salt, sugar, sodas, beer, tropical fruits and vegetables, generic toilet paper and very fresh seafood.

We offer complimentary but limited amounts of coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, toilet paper, body soap, shampoo and conditioner. We also supply unlimited drinking water.

Our maid offers cooking services from USD$20-50 per day depending on how many meals you would like her to prepare (1-3 meals per day). This price includes the cooking service and cleaning the dishes afterwards, all ingredients must be supplied by you. Her specialty is fresh seafood and Dominican food.

We always recommend our guests the use of mosquito repellent and sunscreen, you can get these at the supermarket.

There are no pharmacies or ATM in town, you can find these at the airport or supermarket in the city you fly into.

Check in at your arrival is at 2 pm the earliest and check out at your departure is at 11 am the latest. Failing to leave the premises on time will result into a fine of USD$ 100 per hour to be discounted from the security deposit.

There will be a late check in and early check out (9 pm to 7 am) charge of USD$ 25 each, only if our pick up/ drop off service is not used.

Maximum capacity is 6 people, including children from 2 years of age and on, if more people were to sleep in the house a fine will apply of USD$ 50 per extra person per night.

About Carl-Philippe Mangones

We've been married for 9 years and have a wonderful baby girl of 8 years of age. We love the water and enjoy our weekends on our boat!

Carl-Philippe Mangones purchased this villa in 2014

Why Carl-Philippe Mangones chose Punta Rucia

This was love at first site! We first bought our boat in 2012 and in 2013 we bought our first house on the beach (Villa Mango).

A year later, we found this great opportunity to buy our second house. We jumped on the occasion and remodeled it by today's standards, this was certainly the second best real estate decision we have taken in our 9 years of marriage.

This is truly a unique paradise far from the big crowd!

What makes this villa unique

Beach House right on the bay, with protection from the Atlantic big waves. This is the perfect spot for the family and small kids to enjoy the tranquility of calm waters. Punta Rucia is still a quiet and secret touristic site away from the big crowd. This is a small town where everyone knows each other by name and live in harmony. This is truly the perfect spot to disconnect and have true relaxing vacations.

Hidden paradise!

  • 5 of 5

I recently traveled to Punta Rucia with 3 of my friends. We have NEVER had such an amazing vacation! The house is beautiful just as pictured. The owners are very sweet and quick to respond with any questions. All inclusive resorts are overrated, this is how you should vacation! The water is beautiful. Punta Rucia is a peace of heaven the rest of the world has not yet found. The locals are the friendliest people we have ever met. We felt safe walking around town even at night. There are several places to eat in town including pizza, French, American, and a resort close by. If you drink or eat at either Paradise Island or Gogonza Beach you can sit in their lounge chairs all day for free. We did this several days. Cayo Arena is a must! Kleiby makes the vacation! You are missing out if you don’t let him take you to Cayo Arena. If you are American and have never driven in the DR, we HIGHLY suggest not driving. Pay for the shuttle (also Kleiby if flying into Puerto Plata) it is worth every penny. Lena was our housekeeper and she is precious! Alfonzo is great and lives right across the street. We always felt very safe. Tips: take plenty of sunscreen and bug spray. The mosquitos aren’t bad but they are present. Buy groceries at the supermarket, including paper towels. Know that English is not widely spoken. Knowing some Spanish or French or having an app is helpful. Ask for “Pinky” at Paradise Island if you need someone who speaks fluent English. He is also adorably awesome.

We have left a peace of our hearts in Punta Rucia and made some unforgettable friends. We are already planning our next trips back. Until next time our new favorite place! Truly a slice of heaven.

Ideal for beach lovers

  • 5 of 5

Excellent 'get away from it all' holiday location. Peaceful, relaxing, unspoiled and not over developed in any way. Local people are friendly and the staff at the property are very pleasant. A special mention must go to Kleiby, for whom nothing was too much trouble. If you do nothing else on your holiday do make sure that you go snorkelling at Paradise Island - the fish are spectacular.

Fantastic, relaxing family getaway spot! Great people, great place!

  • 5 of 5

Villa Gabi is a restful, well-equipped villa, just a few hops from the beach. The staff were professional, helpful, efficient and friendly. The property manager, Alphonso, was very diligent and always close by to help when assistance was needed. Thanks to his vigilance we were able to access the villa when we arrived very late due to a flight delay. The town is quiet and peaceful with enough small, friendly eating places to enjoy when you have the urge to "eat out". Our captain, Kleiby, who took us on a cruise to Paradise Island for snorkeling, was a perfectly skilled captain and thoughtful companion on our day trip. The owners, Natalie and Carl-Philippe, communicated swiftly via email and offered helpful tips and support. Overall, it was a wonderful stay for us. We highly recommended it!

Great Villa - Fabulous People

  • 4 of 5

We stayed the entire month of January 1017 at Villa Gabi. The villa is comfortable and looks exactly like the pictures.

Staff - FABULOUS!! Warm, welcoming and they took excellent care of the villa and anything we needed. Kleiby, Melatise and Alfonso couldn't have done more to make our stay any better.

Beach - Just a few steps away is a beautiful, swimmable beach and a day resort with plenty of beach beds/chairs, drinks and food. They were extremely accommodating and the prices were great.

Villa - Actually a bit nicer than pictured, housekeeping daily, grounds maintained daily, security all night. Not that you need security. It was safe and you are more likely to get mugged in Hawaii than here. We enjoyed it.

Negatives - Only one and that is more comfortable furniture in the living room would be nice. If you have more than a couple people there really isn't any comfortable seating as the sofa is small and boxy and the other chairs are like director's chairs. Also, mosquito nets on the beds would be a must if we were to go back.

AND - the mosquitos. Brutal. Bring lots and lots and lots of repellant - You'll need it.

Overall it was a fantastic experience and we would highly recommend this villa. The local people are wonderful and we made lifelong friends. Worth every penny to stay here.
