A gem with an incredible view.

When we arrived, Mark, the owner, greeted us with warm hospitality that instantly got us excited about the stay and the neighborly feel of this quaint community. This is a great fit for a family and we had lots of friends and family over to the easily accessible location with a gorgeous view of Lake Winnebago. We swam, went out on the canoe and kayak, had bonfires right on the shore - a truly memorable experience with the added bonus of gracious neighbors. This is a great fit especially for those of you looking for an authentic Wisconsin lake experience. The cottage is cozy with lots of interesting books and DVDs and a picture window so that you can wake up to the fantastic view. Mark really cares about his renters and takes pride in knowing that we had an enjoyable time! We look forward to returning.

Nice home

  • 4 of 5

The house is very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. Better views of the lake from inside the house would have been nice, but easy enough to open the back door and sit on the deck and enjoy the view.

It was just the two of us and we only used the bedroom on the main floor.

Very comfy bed!

Very disappointed!

  • 1 of 5

The house was very dirty, I have pictures. The closets and cupboards were full. We thought this was a rental property but found out someone lives here. It says air conditioned but there is a window air conditioner that did not cool the 90 degree days. The dock needs work. We called the owner about a bug problem, so bad we couldn't sit on the decks. I emailed him about the other issues. NO RESPONSES.

The view and the area was spectacular as we sat with the neighbors on their deck.

We use VRBO all the time, this place was not worth the price. We were extremely upset the owner did nothing.

Owner's Response: the outlandish review submitted by our last guests doent really merit a reponse. but we feel the need to use this opportunity to list our complaints about these guests. while most people come to take pictures of the lake, they were busy taking photos of dirt, while most guests come to relax and enjoy the lake, these guests were busy looking for things to critize and to worry about their financial investment in this adventure. we did not respond to them about air conditioner and closet space, because they were not matters we could do anything about at the time. the problem of outdoor insects was provided by God and/or mother nature. these guests left home without the address or telephone numbers that were provided to them. we had to look for a way to contact them and regive the address anew.. they stained the bedroom carpet, left the hugest feces in the unflushed toliet with the lid shut, left the cottage without properly locking up. left half washed dishes that had to be re-washed. we pride ourselves on having a clean cottage, having good relations with our guests as you can see by our other positive reviews. we regret that we have to defend ourselves against unwarranted critism. unhappy people are going to be unhappy no matter where they are.

Idyllic, homey and fun; peaceful and lots to do.

  • 5 of 5

Very very clean when we arrived, the owner was very helpful and the property was exactly as advertised. The setting is peaceful, but there is lots to do in the area as detailed in the listing. Neenah has free concerts in the summer at Shattuck park. The streets have wide shoulders for bikers or runners.

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with a great feel. The beds were comfortable, kitchen had what we needed, the porch looking out on the lake was perfect, and the neighborhood was a quite private area that was very nice! We have no complaints about the place, location, and overall condition of the home.

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was everything we were looking for! We enjoyed the big backyard and the beautiful view of Lake Winnebago. We took their canoe out several times too. Great neighborhood. Close to grocery and outlet shopping centers. The beds were very comfortable and the house was exactly as described. The owners greeted us after we arrived and gave us ideas of places to visit while we were there. I had several conversations with them while we were making our reservations and by the time we met them, I felt like we were old friends! Thank you so much!
