Welcome to our new spacious beachfront house on Historic Pass a Grille Beach, directly overlooking the glistening Gulf of Mexico. You will enjoy stunning sunsets and a magnificent moon lit ocean view. Call if you have any questions. 941-544-7440. Katie

The house is spacious (1400 square feet) Two bedroom two bathroom.) Very large living/dining area. All upscale furniture. Large deck with lots of comfortable seating.

What—Never heard of Pass-A-Grille Beach? Well, then, before we tell you about our house we’ll have to educate you about the first beach community on the Gulf of Mexico to be developed as a weekend get-away location for successful Tampa and Saint Petersburg residents.

The area is a small spit of land merely 31 blocks long and one block wide at the south end of St. Petersburg Beach, starting just south of the historic Don Cesar Hotel. Pass-A-Grille got its name from Cuban fishermen, called “Grillers,” who would camp on the island to smoke their catch of fish before heading home. As you traveled through the pass you could see their fires, hence the name Pass-A-Grille.

Pass-A-Grille is NOT your typical Florida “beachy” beach town with hotels, motels, swimsuit stores and fast food stores wall-to-wall, If you are looking for this, you’ll have to go further north, past the Don Cesar. Pass-A-Grille is more sedate with a convenient grocery, quaint shops, inviting bars and restaurants, and a more relaxed style. And, everything is within easy walking distance, because the blocks are short.

22 blocks of beachfront and walkway a few steps to a nearby dune walkover. Once you cross the dune you’ll be presented with a wide, sandy beach stretching in both directions. It's like having your own private beach. There are never big crowds. A locals secret.

You’ll find some good bars, restaurants, and ice cream shops on this (the west) side. The Hurricane Restaurant is one of the most popular places, and you’ll get a great view while sipping a drink at the third-floor bar. By the way, there are no high-rise hotels on Pass-A-Grille—there are a couple of 7-story condos, but that’s it—

Or, walk one block to the other (east) side of the island, where you can dip a line in the water, arrange a fishing charter or scenic cruise, or merely stroll along the marine sites to some rather excellent restaurants. .

Less than an hour from the many attractions in Tampa and St. Petersburg. Our house is 2 blocks from the southern end of the island, and as close to “on the beach” as you can get. To the west there is the Gulf of Mexico, the beach, the street, and our house.

Paddle boarding on the beach. There is a company that will bring the paddle boards to your door. People watching from the patio. We are located in the heart of pass a grille. You can walk or bike to everything. Their is a local trolley that can take you all the way to Clearwater beach( can even take bike on trolley). No car is needed.

A slice of heaven

We were looking for a warm place to get away from the cold New England winter and not only did we find this amazing house, but we also experienced record breaking high temperatures!! This location is by far the gem of PAG. The owners, Katie & Terry have created a home filled with comfort and pure relaxation. I have been a VRBO customer for many years and have to say this home is by far our #1 rated place to stay. We look forward to our return next year

We loved it!

We stayed the whole month of January at this very comfy beach cottage. It is nicely furnished, has absolutely beautiful original hardwood floors and a neat new second bathroom. The location is perfect with the beach across the street (awesome sunsets!) and the bay just a couple of steps in the other direction. During the record cold we enjoyed the little sofa in front of the house, which was indeed, as every bundled-up passer-by enviously commented, the only warm outdoor place in the whole of Pass-A-Grille. Thankfully, the A/C kept the house toasty.

Katie and Terry were the most wonderful hosts we ever had. Thanks again for being so accommodating when a broken foot delayed our stay!

Sunny views, even better sunsets. Bright and inviting interior. Everything you need for a great getaway. Hope to be back to see what is updated next! I would highly recommend this for a enjoyable, restful getaway. Close enough to everything to be as busy, or not, as you please.

If you are looking for the perfect location...

LOVE this house and location. Seriously, you could not ask for a better place to spend a peaceful time on Pass-A-Grille beach. I was fortunate to have spent time in this house years ago... it was a quaint (but dark) beach house.... I had already heard that the new owners had remodeled so I was nervous that it would have lost the old beach house feel. OMG! The changes were dramatic and yet so charming and so perfect... the house is bright and light and the new deck wonderful... I am pretty sure we were the envy of other vacationers walking by, as we sat out on the deck, at sunset, with our cocktails. I spent everyday on the beach and it was so nice being able to walk back to the house for a cold drink or snack then back out to the beach. Since the house is at the end of PAG you almost have the beach to yourself (it feels that way). If you like to fish you have several choices within a block... go one way and you fish off the seawall, go another way... you have the jetty with an area just for fishing or just fish from the beach. We found hundreds of shells (even VERY large ones), we found sand dollars, I swam with a manatee, watched dolphins everyday, walked to PAG villiage for ice cream and dinner and shopping, snorkeled, visited the Merry Pier where you can catch the 'ferry' to Shell Island or take a sunset cruise or fishing boat, fed the birds (only if you are brave), watched the sunrise behind the house and the sunset off the front, hung out with locals, and NEVER wanted to leave!!! We will be back!!

Dream house

This house was the perfect place for our family of 5 including child to create lasting memories. The deck outside overlooking the beach is ideal, the 2nd bathroom even though it is only accessible from the outside worked out super well for showering after the beach when everyone came back at the same time. Kitchen has everthing you need to prepare meals, you can watch the sunset from the dining area, the separation of the bedrooms allows privacy, and I could go on raving. Would come back in a minute!
