Bella Casa is an 1100 Sq. Ft. Condo located on a quiet tree lined residential street in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Santa Fe. This Condominium Complex was built in 1983 on the site of a former estate and features only 5 units. My unit is located on the largest lot, in the inside corner, which allows you to have both a front and back patio that are completely private. Two Reserved Parking spots are just steps from the front gate and are off street. This area is known as the South Capitol Historic District, and is located less than a mile from the center of the Santa Fe Plaza and 2 blocks from the State Capitol "Round House". Shopping, dining, and amenities galore are within walking distance. The Cathedral bells can be heard outside and will guide you towards one of the most interesting spots in the entire country. Galleries, Art & History museums, Farmers Market & Artists Shows, restaurants, wineries, sunsets, spas, golfing, skiing, hiking, and great people abound here. Day trips are easily accomplished to Taos, Indian Reservations, Bandelier National Monument, Casinos, Los Alamos, the Sandia Tram, Chaco Canyon, Ghost Ranch, the former home of Georgia O'Keeffe, Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, Botanical Park & Sandia Tram, the spectacular Rio Grande Gorge, Narrow Gauge Train Rides in Chama, along with skiing, hiking and sight seeing at Red River & Angel Fire. The condo is an adobe with high ceilings featuring exposed vigas, an authentic Kiva fireplace, brick floors throughout, a cooks kitchen, and above all, privacy. The two separated bedrooms (one 8 steps up, one 8 steps down) allows for guest privacy. Bella Casa has both front and back private adobe walled-in patios which allow for an indoor/outdoor feeling throughout the condo. Both patios have seating and are great for relaxing, reading or outdoor BBQ-ing. Enjoy the light filled living area (with upgraded queen sleeper sofa for those extra guests), a fully equipped kitchen, full size washer and dryer. The upstairs King bed and bath suite and downstairs Queen bed and bath layout is especially nice for guest privacy should you travel with two couples, with your family or just a fun girls trip. No matter whether you are visiting for the ambiance, skiing, shopping, dining, hot air balloons, Fiestas, museums, holidays, spas, the famous Opera and Chamber Music Festivals, Spanish and Indian Market, or just for some much needed peace and quiet, you will truly enjoy your time at Bella Casa. After a busy day out, just imagine yourself relaxing in front of the Kiva Fireplace or sitting on the back patio grilling your favorite meal? Or, perhaps it is a glass of wine or hot cocoa by the Chiminea on the patio? This will be a place to call home while you are away! About Diane and Phil Apprill

Our family grew up in New Mexico - my husband in Los Alamos, and myself in Albuquerque. Meeting at UNM in 1972 was the beginning of a fabulous journey for us. We moved around the country but always wanted to be back in New Mexico. Splitting the difference between our families, we ended up with the most amazing condo just outside of the craziness of downtown Santa Fe. Over the years we were blessed with a beautiful daughter who is now on her way to college. The condo remains our very favorite spot, and we have worked hard to make it inviting, comfortable and functional for our guests. We began years ago just occasionally renting to friends and family, and have expanded to include others. We (knock on wood) have had the best experiences with travelers, and invite you to become one of our cherished guests. We strive to accommodate the needs of each group, so let us know what you are looking for in a vacation spot, and we will be completely honest with you about our home. It is important to us that you have a great trip and everything works perfectly for you. Why Diane and Phil Apprill chose Santa Fe

When we finally began looking for a place in Santa Fe, we knew we wanted something very close to the Plaza and all of the galleries and museums. We looked forever it seemed, then one day we happened upon a condo for sale in the South Capitol area. Tree lined streets, residential, quiet, with the most sought after elementary in town. Turns out, the condos were designed and built by friends of my husbands in the mid 1980's. Phil is an architect by trade, and upon this discovery, we knew this was the place. At the time, it wasn't very well kept, and we strove through the years to be sure it was kept in pristine condition with traditional Santa Fe Style furnishings and art. Lots of love and care went into the unique furnishings, the acquisition of art, and maintenance.

What makes this condo unique

Let me start with what to expect when you arrive at Bella Casa. We have 2 private off street parking spaces, which make entry with all of your bags very easy to accomplish no matter the weather...just steps from the front patio door. The patios are truly the best ones we have ever seen in a condominium. There are only a few homes in our complex, and we are in the corner of them. This means we have a great sized flagstone front patio, complete with a Chiminea, seating, greenery and a beautiful shade tree. The living room windows look onto this patio, and the view is lovely. Both front and back patios are surrounded by tall adobe walls, so they are completely private. The back flagstone patio is very large, with a grill, easy access to dry firewood, seating, a cocktail table and a beautiful wrought iron bench under a mature pine. There will always be a spot of shade to enjoy a quiet moment outdoors. If you are ever lucky enough to be at Bella Casa in May, you will see the magnificent Lilac bush in bloom by the kitchen window. The family story states that Arch Bishop Lamy gave a cutting to my husband's Grandfather, and it traveled to Santa Fe to our garden. The dining area and kitchen look out to the back patio, which makes for another great view. The two bedrooms are very separate. Upstairs there is a King bed, with great light and a private tub/shower full bath. Plenty of storage, and a full wall of closets. Brick floors, vaulted ceilings with vigas, and a great view to the back patio and beyond. In the winter months when the leaves have fallen, you can see the top of the Capitol building from the window, and the mountains surrounding Santa Fe. Downstairs there is a queen bed, with a window to the back patio and an adjacent tub/shower full bath. Vigas, brick floors, and a very large closet complete this room. Flatscreen TV's are in both bedrooms and the living area. The Kiva fireplace speaks for itself in the living area. Just check out the photos!

Notes:
There are wonderful Spas located within minutes of the house. Ten Thousand Waves is my personal favorite but La Posada is lovely as well. Ojo Caliente is approximately an hours drive and its sister spa and restaurant is just south of town, called Sunrise Springs. Ojo has massage services, natural hot springs, as well as an excellent restaurant on site. Please ask for referrals for massage therapists and facials.

Dianne was a wondful host. Texted often to make sure we had all we needed The house was very well stocked. Particularly enjoyed the chimania in the back. Plenty of wood and the weather was great. Would definitely recommend this house to others

Quiet sanctuary close to everything!

We were really impressed with Bella Casa. It came fully loaded with amenities, all the details included. Diane was accommodating and always available. Local insights and activities were provided to ensure an enjoyable visit. Utlized the serenity of the back patio for coffee in the morning or a cocktail at the end of the day. Very convenient location, we would definitely rent again from Diane. Great visit all around!

This property is perfect. It is well-appointed and very comfortable

We could not have asked for more in terms of a place to stay. The home is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of great restaurants, art galleries and shopping. The property owners are very attentive and responsive to any questions you might have. We would highly recommmend this property to anyone visiting Santa Fe.

This location was perfect for us

My wife, two teenage kids and myself found this to be a perfect location. It was comfortable, the layout was nice with the two bedrooms and baths both leading to the living area. We found it very clean and in good shape and the owners could not be more helpful. Parking is outside the door and you have easy access by car to all directions , as well as an easy walk to the Plaza. We felt the location was a safe one in a nice neighborhood.

Will stay there again if we return to Santa Fe.
