Thank you for your interest in Vista Villas, apartments on the beach.
We are hoping to see you soon and make your holiday and stay with us as heavenly as Caribbean can be.
I was born in Barbados, and was educated in Daytona Beach FL, at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
I enjoy many sports like surfing, sailing, snowboarding, golf and racing. Our Beautiful Island offer many attractions to offer. And if you are not a sport enthusiast, you can just simply step out on to our beach and chill and relax.
If you want a place where you have your own private beach, this is it! The gorgeous Caribbean is literally at your doorstep. Worthing beach is very private compared to other beaches on the island, even though you are close to shopping, grocery stores, the many mini buses on the island and a main road behind the apartments. You can literally swim around the end of the beach to a more populated one if you choose. If you like the sound of the ocean, then you will love Vista Villas. We were lucky to see a turtle laying eggs, as well as rescuing a baby turtle and releasing it to the ocean. Also, the staff are amazing, as are Sacha and Nat. We became very good friends with one of the gentleman that works there and will continue that friendship. We have been home for a week and are missing our time in Barbados, where everyone is greeted with honest hospitality. We hope to return.
Regretfully we had to cancel our April 2017 vacation unexpectedly, so I can't comment on the accommodation. However, it is wonderful when you book with owners who show and honour their cancellation policy and that we can attest too. Nat was wonderful and even though they were experiencing Storm Matthew processed our Paypal refund within 2 days request! That's what we love about Bajan honesty and hospitality and it keeps us coming back almost every year. Thanks Nat
Vista Villa is not as it appears in the photos that is why the owners has not shown the front of the building which I was curious about from the start when looking at this place but the fake picture of the balcony which showed the beach had me fooled. I spoke to Nat on several occasi3769158ons before we booked and even express to her that I could not stay in a place which was hot and needed to have a constant breeze and had mentioned my concerns about other reviews regarding how hot the apartment was except the bedroom which supposedly has A/C.
Nat assured me that it would not be hot because they were windows and two fans, which ended up not to be true. The fans turned out to be small portable fans. We arrived in Barbados the end of August 2016 and immediately upon arrival knew that this was not a place that we wanted to stay. On our arrival the place look like a dump from the front because of a large yellow dumpster that was sitting out front and they were also two males that appeared weird and appeared to be washing or worker on an old car which we took as being very strange and actually scared us to some extent. After climbing a old dirty stairway to the apartment we were surprised at the unkept condition of the entire building and how small and very, very hot and uncomfortable the apartment was on the inside which looked nothing like the pictures on VRBO/HOMEAWAY. Upon looking around we saw a black spot on the white bedspread and the floors and kitchen needed cleaning and the inside was so hot that immediately upon entering sweat was running down on faces and I felt like I was going to pass out, Then adding insult to injury we were greeting by an older lady and not Nat herself who had nothing to say about our concerns and agreed with us that they were a lot nicer places very close by. The little breeze came from being on a very small balcony which had only a partial view of the ocean only when standing. Keep in mind that this time of the year Barbados is very hot. Nat agreed to met us the next day to give us 50% of our deposit but then just argue with us, we could not handle being there one night let alone two weeks, Nat was not considerate and we saw a total different side of her and she refused to give us back any of the refund and went as far as taping our conversation and stated that we said we would hurt her. If your considering renting this place be warn, if you don't mind being hot and sweaty all day then this is the place for you.
Vista Villas was an excellent choice for the two of us in Barbados. The interior was clean, we were very close to the beach, and within walking distance to many many different points of interest. We stayed on the third floor (apt 18). It was our choice to be on the top floor for safety reasons--we like to sleep with the balcony doors open and listen to the ocean at night. However, now that I've been there, it seems like a very safe area. One drawback to being on the top floor is that the rails on the balcony do obstruct your view unless you stand up. The view, by the way, is absolutely gorgeous.
Nat was great to work with--always responding to our emails leading up to the vacation, and checking in with us when she happened to catch us there. Because there is so much to do, we were out and about most of the time.
Vista Villas is within walking distance to St. Lawrence Gap where there are all kinds of restaurants to choose from. If you go in the opposite direction you will quickly find yourself on the South Coast Boardwalk, That's a wonderful way to start your morning. It is walking distance, but since we had a car, we would drive to the Tiki Bar which is right on the beach with plenty of parking, and walk from there. Another unexpected stop that turned into a routine was stopping across the street at the ArtSplash Café. The breakfast there were yummy and you could sit on their porch and enjoy the scenery that includes the Caribbean Sea. They have a farmer's market out front on Wednesdays and Saturdays where we found a painting from a local artist that we brought home to remember this wonderful island.
We did have a car, but there is a bus stop right out front. I noticed people being picked up by vans and buses quite frequently and the locals seem most friendly.
I would highly recommend Vista Villas if you are interested in Barbados, and we hope to return there someday soon!
P.S. The WiFi is also very reliable!
We stayed at Apt 6 at Vista Villas from 7 to 19 December. The location is fantastic, everything you want or need is within a five minute walk. The staff are excellent, both Nat and Jamie were always there to lend a helping hand or give us advice on something we had questions about. The apt was clean and having the beach right in front of you is just wonderful. The beach itself in front has a reef which if you want to walk on it, you need watershoes, however, you can walk a 100ft in either direction and walk into the water. It is also not a very busy beach and everyone is very friendly, locals and tourists alike. We will absolutely go back there.
My wife and I spent about a week at Vista Villas and overall we had a good experience staying here.
Great location--close to supermarkets, close to the Gap and many restaurants such as Champers.
Good Service- Nat was a great host and was available at any time. She would try to help out in any way that she can.
Excellent Beaches--In the area around the apartments there was excellent beaches where the sand is extremely soft and water shoes aren't necessary. We found that at Accra Beach the water is quite shallow, which is great for non-swimmers and small children.
Choppy Waters--The one knock I had about this location is that the water in front of the apartments were extremely choppy and very hard to actually swim in. Majority of the people thought the week either just lounged on the beach or got their feet wet by stepping in. We found that going to some beaches in walking distance like Accra Beach was a bit of a better experience. The waters still have quite high tides but it was bearable.
