Glamping at its finest
Great location, close to town but feels remote. Yurt is very comfortable. We enjoyed hanging out at the property in the mornings and evenings, and went hiking during the day. Lots of hiking options near by. Also a short drive to Lake Placid. Important to note that water does need to be conserved, which might put some people off but we were fine with it. Highly recommend!
2nd time here. Stayed Aug 10-15, 2019. Great views from deck, great fire pit. And plenty of room.
Nice. Remote yet minutes from town. Great spot. Sitting on deck and watching weather move through mountains. Love the hiking the many mountains that are close by and really look forward to the Yurt at the end of the day.
Unique accomodation, very roomy and great location near the small town but views of only the mountains and no other properties. Very comfortable and has all you need.
The Cadillac of Yurts!
Doug is a great and timely communicator. He answered all our questions promptly. The yurt is well maintained and extremely comfortable for the two of us. The kitchen is well stocked, and there are many amenities in the yurt. We enjoyed the spectacular views, the fire pitt, the deck, and the hiking on the property. We would recommend this to anyone who wants to commune with nature and not be bothered by the static of civilization.
A unique and very enjoyable experience
Our 3 day stay in late summer 2018 was our first time ever being in a yurt. It was everything it was advertised to be! My wife and I and our adult son had lots of room and everything was very comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and had salt, pepper and many spices available. Our son enjoyed sleeping in the loft bed and seeing the moon and stars overhead. During our stay we had warm days and cool nights. The fans kept the yurt temperature very comfortable. One cool morning we baked biscuits in the oven and the heat felt good. We boiled corn on the cob on the stovetop and the propane stove took a long time to boil the water, but it got the job done. The “secret swimming hole” mentioned in the description was a treat. Be aware that it is a steep climb down to the stream and back. Also, the trails on the property are nice, but are best suited to folks in good physical shape (not necessarily a phrase that describes us). Don’t set out on them hoping to quickly arrive at a fabulous sunset vista. Actually the deck is a really nice place for that. The owner, Doug, was a good person to deal with and he supplied very detailed instructions for everything that could be needed.
Fun time. Been to Adirondacks before so I knew location and liked it being close to hiking. Was able to cool place off most nights. Shower needs an extra couple feet of space. Loved the deck, view, and making a fire!
Enter the adventure of the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks. Nearby hiking trails are the finest in the East. Lake Champlain is 15 minutes away. Whiteface Mountain in 30 minutes away. Saranac Lake and Lake Placid are easy drives. Take a ferry to Vermont or a bobsled run at the Olympic Center! Great shops, restaurants, pubs, antique stores can be found in Keene Valley, Westport, Elizabethtown, and Essex.
