My wife, Janet, and I purchased this property at

Beacher's Lodge as our own, personal vacation dream getaway. After 2 years on the rental program we decided to offer our close friends and those we met at Beacher's, an opportunity to share in what we thought was a gem in Crescent Beach. We have some guests that we have had coming to our unit for over 19 years now that we decided to share our getaway with others. We have many great, written reviews and it makes us happy that we can offer some others the same as we enjoy. We recommend no more than 2 or 3 adults as the unit is "tight". However, we have had 2 adults 2 teens with no issues.

Janet and I were married in 1995 and this was our first purchase together. We have seen to it that all of our guest have been supplied with all their needs, from special requests to the everyday need that may have been forgotten.

Janet and I are avid travelers and have counted more that 50 cruises that we have been on. So ,we understand the need for comfort in a somewhat confining space as a condo can be. That is why we are constantly adding simple amenities that will make your stay a happy and memorable one. Any and all comments are welcome, if we are booked on the dates that you absolutely have to have, we have some great references at Beacher's Lodge, that we can recommend. Janet and I are currently retired and live in Jacksonville, FL only an hour away. We are able to be a little more flexible and allow you to check in at any time on the day that you are booked and check out at your leisure. We only ask that you treat yourself to some relaxation and we are only a call away if you need some information or have additional needs. 'Leave it like you found it.' is a often used term that we like to use. Not to worry about the small things. We always make sure that your rooms will be fresh and clean. We want to have you back again and again.

Why Steven M Smith chose St. Augustine Area

Steve first found Beacher's Lodge while working in his Own Business installing Cable TV in new construction. He saw how well Beacher's Lodge was constructed when compared to other new oceanfront condos being constructed at the same time back in the mid 1980's. Beacher's is close to the ocean, however, are protected by a double set of sand dunes. The dunes are well established and contain a variety of natural species such as rabbit, gopher turtles, varied reptiles and bird life. Being on the second floor gives one a close, yet protected view of the daily habitat in it's natural state. Views from the first floors can be obstructed and are not entirely private. Also, being on the second floor affords the opportunity to be close to the dunes and wildlife, without the wildlife becoming uninvited guests, during the evening, when you like to hear the sound of the ocean with only the screen door separating you from it. The pool is heated and contrary to belief is not a salt pool but has a large quantity of salt in it, from the air circulating in it. If you don't care for the ocean, the pool is the perfect place to be. New chairs, tables and umbrella for the pool area makes for a comfortable and relaxing day. All accesses are protected by gate at the pool and gate to the beach, which you must have a code to exit and enter. The new boardwalk to the beach from the pool area is handicap friendly and lit at night. Making for day or night trips to the shoreline. The view from the balcony of the unit is one of the best vantage points of Crescent Beach. You can literally see the entire coastline of 9 miles. Night time it is beautiful with the city lights far enough away to see the stars, yet close enough to make out the Lighthouse sweeps and St Augustine Pier lights. Perfect for meteor showers or stargazers.

With all the comforts of home, an Ancient City waiting for discovery, Marineland and all the memories that can be packed into a camera and your memories. This is the Place.

Benefits of renting with Janet and myself are that we cater to each traveler and their unique needs. We are committed to making your stay a memorable one. We have made sure that the latest technology is available, should you need it. We recommend our unit to couples, as it is not large enough for a family of more than four. We have tried to anticipate any want that you might have and left enough to the imagination to make you want to go out and discover your next dream vacation. Every day at Beacher's Lodge is a great day to be at the Beach. The beach has a public park and draws a nice crowd during the peak periods. You can also drive on the beach, permit needed, park and enjoy that aspect of beaching it. It is recommended that you have 4 wheel drive. Since Beacher's Lodge is a Condo/Hotel you as a guest enjoy all the benefits of any guest and must also abide by guest regulations, as posted.

With so much to do in a close proximity, you'll want to come back, again and again. Every day is a new adventure in St Augustine, Florida

Badly in need of an update

The location is amazing, the view unbelievable. The space is small and incredibly full of things. Unfortunately I really struggle with clutter so the space bothered me. The furniture is threadbare and the bathtub is in bad shape, really bad shape but the shower head works well. This condo is in dire need of an update..very few kitchen materials. We won't stay again.

We also have had an awesome rental year and now have a few months to update and refresh the look. We will, however, keep that beachy feel and as well as cozy, well appointed furnishings. We had mentioned some of these with a previous week's 5 star rating. We appreciated your staying with us.

Great view, quiet part of beach

Really liked this place. We stayed in Panama City the days before coming here, and this beach is better in that there are no huge condos. The beach is pretty and quiet. Several nice restaurants nearby. Condo itself is small but has a great view off the porch.

Perfect Weekend

Very happy with our stay here. Easy arrival and access, clean and cozy condo with very accommodating owners. Can't beat a balcony ocean view either! We hope to go back and highly recommend it.

Hurricane Matthew

Great location and view Owners very prompt with responses and very generous with staples. My only complaint is while watching TV tracking the hurricane the window shaker makes so much noise you have to turn the TV up so loud to hear. Maybe wireless speakers behind the couch would fix.

Great Ocean View!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay! The owners were great with communication and answered any questions we had. Even though the unit was small it was perfect for the 2 of us. We love the balcony view of the ocean...sitting out there in the evening was relaxing. The unit had very close access to beach, pool, washer & dryer and elevator. The owner even supplied many little extras.

Off I-95 west onto exit 305 or SR 206 then 8 miles over the Matanzas River to Anastasia Island. Beacher's Lodge is located south on A1A immediately to the left (oceanfront).

10 miles to the north side of Anastasia Island on A1A is the Bridge of Lions or the entrance into old St Augustine Historic Area with the Castillo de San Marco as the cornerstone.

5 miles to the south of Beacher's Lodge is the southern end of Anastasia Island where the bridge over the Matanzas Inlet and Fort Matanzas are awaiting. 2 miles further south is Historic Marineland, The University of Florida has a Oceanographic Lab located on site.

Crescent Beach is unique in that it is it has a 'crescent' shape which gives one the opportunity to view all 14 miles of beach from a vantage point.

The beach itself can be driven on, yet is protected by lifeguard patrol, and sheriff patrol. Beacher's Lodge is located near the southern end of the island, where there is only a 1/4 mile separating the Atlantic Ocean from the Intracoastal Waterway.
