About Westley

After wandering around the country for a while, I returned to Charlottesville in 2007 to be near family in the area. Although I grew up in Northern Virginia and had family there, I had fallen in love with Charlottesville when I finished my undergraduate work at the University of Virginia. Coming back to Charlottesville felt like coming home, and I decided to buy and settle in for the long haul.

Westley purchased this apartment in 2010

Why Westley chose Charlottesville

I bought this house because the weeping cherry tree up the street was in bloom, and when I first looked at the house, I could hear children playing up the street. I liked that it was in a quiet neighborhood with families and mature trees. I loved that almost all of the houses on the street were mid-century modern. I also love that I can walk to football games and be most anywhere in town pretty quickly. And if I don't feel like driving, cabs are inexpensive because of the central location.

What makes this apartment unique

Walking to the football stadium is a huge plus. I can enjoy tailgates but avoid the traffic issues. I'm 5 minutes from my gym and 5 minutes from my office. I'm also close to many great local restaurants.

Very nice clean place that served our needs well.

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. We liked it's location, handy to all of our needs. Like others we loved the bed! Very comfortable, which Is the most important part of any stay in our book. The garden level was nice and cool in sumner's heat. I would stay again in a heartbeat!

The apartment was very clean and nice. Everything was extremely organized with clear directions. We were very close to events we were attending at UVA and Monticello. We enjoyed our stay.

Convenient location for UVA, for winery tours, or historical site seeing. We had a slight issue and the owner addressed it quickly and efficiently.

Everything Was Awesome

  • 5 of 5

We walked into the apartment after a long day, the kids took a look around, and said to me "Everything Is Awesome" (of course they are Lego fans). I have to agree with them. The apartment was perfect for our purposes. Tastefully decorated, all the essentials there, kitchen has the basics and of good quality, and everything is there for a nice hot cup of coffee or tea. The queen bed was very comfortable and had nice linens. Westley is quick to respond to any questions. Would definitely consider this for any future trips back to Charlottesville. Thanks Westley!

Located close to the University, this property allows for an easy drive to University events but is located in a quiet neighborhood. The property includes a full kitchen as well as a washer and dryer. About 1 block from the city bus line and the free Trolley, it's also a short cab ride downtown, if you don't feel like driving. If you do feel like driving, you won't have to go far to find a wide variety of excellent restaurants, from inexpensive to high end. At 1 mile to the football stadium, you can walk to football games and avoid the parking mess - it only takes about 20 minutes. When you have finished exploring the University and other historical sites in town, a short drive takes you to Monticello, Ash Lawn-Highland, Michie Tavern and Montpelier. Go a little further and you're on Skyline Drive and enjoying Shenandoah. Charlottesville offers a wide variety of things to do, and this apartment offers a great central launching point.
