Barefoot or black tie, snow-blanketed winter days or starry summer nights, Barn on the Pond is the ideal place to unwind. And the world is taking notice of our mountain getaway: USA Today lists us as one of Homeaway's Top 12 renovated barn rentals (12/17) and Time Out NY (3/18) voted Barn on the Pond #2 best rental in the Catskills for a picturesque weekend getaway to upstate NY. "No property better exemplifies rustic luxury than this massive converted barn...looks like it’s been ripped from the pages of Architectural Digest. The outdoor space is just as beautiful and features a pond, stone fire pit, and even an Airstream trailer for overflow guests." Perfectly located in the scenic Hudson Valley, between the popular Woodstock & Saugerties destinations, sits this rustic yet elegant Barn-style retreat surrounded by gorgeous greenery and mountain views. Set on nearly 4 acres of lush private property in the Upstate New York Catskill region, here is a truly one-of-a-kind residence that provides unmatched enjoyment year-round for even the most discerning vacationer.

Bring up to 20 guests to this turn-of-the-century barn, which was relocated and lovingly replicated on its original site. And what a site it is: four lush, mountain-view acres in the Hudson Valley, between Woodstock and Saugerties.

Barn on the Pond combines the rustic charm of the Catskills with elegant finishes like top-of-the-line chef's appliances and a stunning solarium that brings nature inside. All 11 guests can sprawl out in beds, with three bedrooms plus a sleeping loft and two full baths. Another 3-4 guests can decamp to our renovated, heated Airstream in the backyard.

Our getaway is designed to be not just in the Catskills but of it. Our walls are decorated with work by the same artists featured in local galleries. Soaring ceilings and wood beams are reminiscent of classic mountain retreats. And the natural setting is ideal for everything from unplugging as a family to getting your team focused on a company retreat.

Or bring in spa & salon specialists to refresh and rejuvenate right at home—perfect for prepping for your special event at Barn on the Pond. We have double ovens, 2 sinks, 2 dishwashers, and even 2 refrigerators. Set the adjacent table for 10 and dig into a memorable meal, or fire up the grill and enjoy your feast alfresco. For a gourmet experience right at home, ask about our personal private chefs, some of whom man the kitchens at favorite local restaurants.

OUTDOORS: Our pond is our namesake, and in the warmer months, it’s our favorite spot to gather. Pull up a chair, throw a log in massive sunken the fire pit, and let the distant mountains be the backdrop for your summertime memories. Crackling wood, chirping crickets, and twinkling starlight are all the ambiance you’ll need.

The best weekend away we could've imagined ...

  • 5 of 5

I came here with 12 girls total and we had PLENTY of room and plenty of fun. The home is so fun and cool and is equipped with anything you could imagine. It's also amazing b/c usually rental homes have minimal items and 'less nice' items because they're being rented, but there was a beautiful kitchen to enjoy making meals together in, there was a record player and awesome records to be enjoyed, there were fun tabletop books for viewing art and local culture, and it was just so charming, fun, beautiful, and inviting. My friends and I had the most memorable weekend and hopefully will be able to make this a tradition of sorts. We enjoyed yoga and massages at the house as some of the available amenities and would 110% do it again. The yoga was SO enjoyable and relaxing and got us ready for the day and the massages were the cherry on the Sunday of this gorgeous weekend. The fire places were so warm and enjoyable when it rained one day and we cozied up and couldn't have been happier.

We were a short drive away from a lovely waterfall hike, and a short drive to the town where we enjoyed walking around, brunch, and the fun and inviting locals. Everyone was SO SO nice. Such good vibes all around from the home, the town and our friends being so thankful for this time together. We'll definitely be back, thank you Tripp!!

This property is beyond amazing.

  • 5 of 5

I hosted a girls weekend here for my sister ahead of her wedding and it was an unforgettable summer weekend. The house - and it's many spaces for gathering - were perfect for our group of 12.

We enjoyed morning coffee on the back porch, evening cocktails under the covered deck at sunset, and a beautiful catered dinner in the dining area. The local area (Saugerties and Woodstock) are equally beautiful and charming with wonderful day and evening activites, but you won't want to leave the property: it is so perfect.

Tripp was a great host, very accessible for questions and information throughout. Can't wait to come back here with family and friends! Seems like the perfect getaway any time of year.

Nothing short of spectacular!! The home away from home you don't want to leave!!

  • 5 of 5

Tripp was beyond helpful in the planning stages of our weekend away. The "barn" is something out of a magazine! It's a hybrid between luxury and comfort. The homeowners have forgotten nothing! A tooth brush and some clothing and you are set!

The home is located only minutes away from picturesque Woodstock, but we loved the home so much we only ventured out for a few hours - excited to get back to the coziness and beauty the barn offers!

By the end of our girls weekend- we were talking about renting it again in the summer time!

Owner's Response: Elated to hear your girls weekend went so well and your planning paid off, Tracey. As much as we try to promote our groovy little neighborhoods, many of our guests say they never want to leave the barn once they have nested. Fingers crossed for your lovely group's return and thank you!!

Amazing Hidden Gem in the Catskills

  • 5 of 5

Barn on The Pond is the perfect weekend escape, vacation destination for relaxation, and beautiful venue for a variety of events.

We were lucky enough to stay for a beautiful week in October at the peak of the leaves changing in beautiful weather. The minute we stepped into the home, we were immediately in vacation mode-- it's hard not to be with its serene property, beautiful high open ceilings and a welcoming decor. The kitchen was made for entertaining, whether that's hosting a holiday for family, pepping for an event, or simply cooking dinner for 2 or 12. The bedrooms are all warm and inviting and to sit by the fire-- either inside in the living room listening to records or outside upstairs, cozied up looking out into the mountains with a drink-- is heaven.

There's a beautiful fire pit that we sat with friends around with a beer to catch up and roast some s'mores and the airbed (basically an XL hammock) is the ideal way to lose track of time staring at the sky.

To look out of our windows or sit on the upper back porch with coffee looking out at the pond and the background of trees and mountains was perfect.

Every amenity was thoughtfully in place. Tripp and his team have thought of everything and go out of their way to make sure your trip is comfortable, enjoyable and memorable.

We were a group of 11 + a our dog and had the best time, even hosting our annual pumpkin beer tasting. There's no lesser accommodations though, even the airstream (about 100 feet from the house) was roomy, funky and fun to stay in.

This is a wonderful hidden gem and we look forward to coming back in the future.

Idyllic paradise

  • 5 of 5

I stayed for a week at the fabulous Barn on the Pond with a bunch of friends, and loved every minute.

Tripp the owner is great; he's extremely accommodating and goes beyond the call of duty. The place was clean, beautifully designed, luxurious, grand, bohemian and posh.

The Barn on the Pond is a short drive into Woodstock where you can find some good stores, restaurants, friendly people and a river with beautiful water holes to swim in.

The Barn and the grounds are huge with different nooks and crannies to hang out in - one night roasting marshmallows on the bonfire in the garden, the next night posh pizza and wine on the upstairs balcony with an open fire burning in the hearth, home cooked meals with friends round the long dining table, an afternoon chatting peacefully on the giant dream catcher swing looking up at the Dr. Seuss trees, then dangling feet into the cool water of the pond watching frogs, listening to the sound of birds singing and crickets buzzing. So beautiful.

Staying here is everything summer should be; It's an idyllic paradise.

It's the kind of place that nurtures life long memories. I will always recommend this wonderful place to friends and family, and I look forward to staying here next summer.
