|Minimum Stay||5 nights|
Imagine yourself pulling into a gated community, Peace and security as you enter. Pull into the garage on the 18th hole of the Verde Santé Fe Golf course. Enjoy the quiet neighborhood with dark star filled skies, a small home town feel and the opportunity of being so close to one of the most beautiful places in America, Sedona! Red Rock County. Ahhh..Away at last!
Travel north only 12 miles to Sedona, Enjoy the great red rocks views, hiking, scenic drives, tours, horseback rides, hot air balloons, spas, galleries, shopping and dining.....Spend a great day with your family at Slide Rock Park or visit the natural land vortex’s such as Cathedral Rock and Bell Rock for healing energy and mental clarity. My favorite hike is Devils Bridge, a moderate 35 minute hike to the top of this natural land arch, walk out on the arch or enjoy it from a distance…either way you will leave here with some great pictures, a sense of accomplishment, and inspiration.
Or travel 12 miles south to Jerome, an old copper mining town, artist community with an interesting reputation of being a ghost town...if you want unique local art instead of mass-produced 'Indian Art & Jewelry,' which, unfortunately, has begun to be plentiful in the shops of Sedona. Great location for photography, shopping, wine tasting, galleries and dining.
This new home is open and light with great energy and blazing fast internet. Enjoy the sounds of the tranquil water fountain or relax in the round chair with a cup of morning coffee or cuddled up with a special someone. Enjoy the temperature being 10 degrees cooler here than in Scottsdale. You open the door and you know that you are 'home'. Leather sofas, down comforters, tribal rugs on the floor. In the winter the gas fireplace is capable of making the family room nice and toasty. Enjoy some family time with a movie. In the summer enjoy coming back from a long day of hiking to a super cool air conditioned home or enjoy soaking in the guest bathroom tub.
The sliding glass door leads to an open space patio surrounded by plants, flowers and a variety of bird life. To one side is the green grass of the golf course, the other side is open space with beautiful views of the Mingus Mountain. Spend an evening talking with friends or make new friends as you visit with the golfers on the 18th hole.. I often love to sit out there alone..in the evening enjoying the fire pit with a glass of wine and my own thoughts..
The tiled kitchen is open to the family room with bar counter and stools for entertaining your guests...everything about this place, from the Sedona Landscape images to the Quiver with the bow and arrows makes you feel like you are in Sedona.
The master bedroom is spacious and inviting…romantic
mood lighting with a medium-firm mattress, nice and cool high thread count sheets and Flat screen smart TV. A full bathroom with a stall shower. Just drop your bags and head off for the red rocks.
The guest bedroom has s a medium firm queen mattress, high thread cool sheets and down pillows. Complete with a 19' TV and walk in closet. Decorated in a series of photographic images by the owner of the natural land arches in Sedona.
Next to the water fountain is the third bedroom, The Indiana Jones Room, no TV in here, perfect for a single guest who loves to read or just loves some peace and quiet from the rest of the family. This room offers a very comfortable firm twin futon mattress, a full closet and wood writing desk inviting you to document your vacation experiences in your journal...or perhaps complete that writing project you started last year!
This is high desert living at its finest and it won't break the bank. Come stay in my home, I would love to have you.

Photographer; Linda Johnson lives in California primarily where she owns and operates a portrait studio. Her second love is her home in Sedona Arizona, where she enjoys landscape photography, geology, hiking, rock climbing, being moved and feeling empowered. Her days are filled with images and ideas, she is always watching and waiting for the defining moment…dramatic weather conditions, a sunset, a star filled night, a waterfall or just red dirt! Linda creates moments that help people to see how much beauty there is in a moment and the often overlooked details of daily life.
Linda Johnson purchased this house in 2006
This home is a great price. Owner does not charge by the person, its the same low rate for up to 5 people. No extra charge for weekends and NO TAX! Gated community, Blazing fast internet. Great location, The backyard is the 18th hole of the golf course. Its located in the closest town to Sedona. This home is in Cornville which is a suburb of Cottonwood. It is a quick beautiful 12 mile drive to Sedona.
if you rent a home in the town Sedona the law rentals require a 30 days stay
The golf course in the backyard is fun to watch and very entertaining. The home has a romantic living area with fireplace and granite water fountain. The backyard has a propane fire pit, barbaque and birdwatching. Enjoy star gazing, the sky is jammed packed full of stars!
This was our first visit to Arizona. We came with the intention to enjoy hiking, biking and sight seeing. The house is located just outside of Cottonwood. It was the perfect place to launch out to Jerome, Sedona, Oak Creek, Prescott and Flagstaff. The house itself was beautiful and comfortable. We typically ate breakfast and supper in; the kitchen had all that we needed to make our own meals. The beds were comfortable. We would not hesitate staying here again if we come back. We could not have asked for a better place to stay from which to enjoy our first visit to Arizona.
Our 5 night stay just before Thanksgiving was wonderful!! Linda was very organized throughout the entire process, providing all the needed home information along with multiple suggestions for places to eat, shop, hike, and site-see!! The home itself was cozy and very clean. We all enjoyed the fireplace during the cold evenings. It's also conveniently located between Cottonwood and Sedona and very near the major hwy leading to both. It was extremely easy to get around the area even without having visited previously!
If I had to be nit picky, my only suggestions would be a greater selection of cable channels and/or other types of entertainment for evenings in. I would definitely return to Sedona and can't imagine there being a nicer place to stay!! Thanks Linda
Clean, convenient and beautiful scenery. Linda was always available and extremely helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return some day.
Thank you Linda for opening your home for our use. We used the house as our base camp. It was lovely coming home at night to relax and recharge for the next day. I don't think we missed any activity. Your house was central to everything. Very quiet neighborhood, we were 2 couples and could not hear each other moving about the house, was fun to watch the golfers and neighbors very friendly. Beautiful, clean home with everything we needed. We spent a lot of time eating and visiting on the patio or around the fire pit.
First, the owner is extremely responsive and took care of any requests we had with a sense of urgency. Many nice little touches throughout the condo to help us feel at home and relaxed. Tasteful decor and really feels "homey." Beds were really comfortable and the layout of the property was perfect for our family vacation with 2 parents and 2 daughters. This was a good base camp for us. It was a 20-25 minute drive to Sedona, but we enjoyed being away from all the tourism and traffic. Plus, Cottonwood, AZ is about 5 minutes away. Safeway and other grocers are located there. 2 car garage was an added bonus which allowed us plenty of room to store our bikes. The Grand Canyon was appx 2 1/2 hours away, so that made for a long trip, however we did it all in a day! The condo was stocked with all the items you need for day-to-day. Coffee maker, dish soap, scrubbing sponge, paper towels, toilet paper, washer, dryer, etc. Back patio is stocked with propane grill, however we never got the chance to use it! We were too busy with all the activities surrounding us! Jerome is a 20 minute drive up the mountain and provides for a great scenic view of the valley down below. I have used VRBO on many occasions and this owner is probably the most attentive and detail oriented I have come across! I highly recommend this property without hesitation. The only "complaint" (and I use that term lightly because I have ZERO complaints)...is that the box tv's could be updated to flat screens. But honestly, if you are in the Sedona area you should NOT be using time to watch television! Please NOTE: There is an awesome LG Flat screen in the Master bedroom. Thank you SOOO much for letting us stay at your property. And thank you again for being so helpful on multiple occasions to ensure our stay was as comfortable as it could be!
In summary - the listing description is spot on. The property is EXTREMELY clean and well-maintained. And the owner's customer service skills rival that of a 5 star hotel!
We are a family of 5 adults that stayed at Linda's gorgeous home for a week in June 2016. The home was beautifully decorated, well stocked with everything you could need in the kitchen, comfy beds, nice fluffy towels, and and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. We enjoyed sitting out in the backyard in the evenings, watching the golfers and the sunsets. The owner's photography also decorates the home and is breathtaking! We enjoyed our welcome basket, thank you, Linda! The home is in a nice central location for sightseeing. We managed to do 5 hikes in Sedona, a day trip to the Grand Canyon, another day in Flagstaff to see Wupatki/Sunset Crater Monument, as well as a hiking Red Mountain Trail (which was probably our favorite!) We drove to Prescott to see Watson Lake Granite Dells, Jerome, Montezuma Castle, Tuzigoot, and V-Bar-V.
Linda was such a pleasure to deal with. She was very professional and gave us lots of recommendations, and answered all my e-mails promptly. Her home is such a good value for the price. We hope to be able to return in the future!
If you would like to stay close to home there are many wonderful experiences to be had in this area of the Verde Valley. There are several local wineries on Page Springs Road (about 5-10 minutes away), and don't forget the Fish Hatchery on that road, as well. In nearby Camp Verde are Montezuma's Well, Montezuma's Castle, and a little farther out, Tuzigoot, Honanki and Palatki, ruins. Also near the house is the Out of Africa Wildlife adventure area. For some night life, Cliff Castle Resort & Casino in Camp Verde (about 10 min. away) has some great restaurants, a bowling alley, and, of course, lots of 'one armed bandits,' if you want to try your luck!
Nearby Old Town Cottonwood is also a great place for an afternoon stroll. Plays and performances are offered in the Theatre there, and the La Bella Restaurant offers wonderful natural fare. The Clarkdale Train offers a sweet ride through the local mountains, with the guide pointing out both historical and natural points of interest...a real treat for train kids!
I can help you tailor your experiences to your interests and budgets...just ask! If I don't know the answer to your question, I will be happy to try and get one for you.
