This newly renovated apartment has 2 bedrooms each with comfy queen size beds. The bedrooms are at opposite ends of the apartment, so you are assured of privacy. 2 freshly tiled bathrooms are yours to enjoy. In addition to the 2 bedrooms, there is an additional room with a day bed that opens to a King size bed. The living room is large and has a great reading chair, game table, and flat-screen television. New for 2016 is a private outdoor patio with grill. First floor unit has drive for parking and private access into unit.

About Colleen Bedard

I am a New Englander and have lived in the Portland area off and on for 25 years. I am now settled here and wouldn't live anywhere else but Munjoy Hill. It is truly special to hear fog horns, the train, and the tug boats hard at work in the harbor. The sounds and the smells leave a lastly impression. In addition to being a Realtor, I am also an artist and founded the Society for East End Arts with a few fellow-artists almost 10 years ago. I love walking on the Eastern Promenade with my dog, Coali, where there is an off-leash area for her to run and socialize with the other Hill dogs.

I love Portland's East End. It's where I live myself, and I feel fortunate to step out of my door each day to see the sun and moon rise over Casco Bay. I wouldn't live anywhere else and think you will enjoy visiting Portland with all that it has to offer.

What makes this apartment unique

When I saw this property, I had to have it--and so did several other people. I was in a multiple offer situation and was fortunate enough to be the chosen buyer. It's a comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood. I love that this unit has its own private entrance and coveted driveway. The unit is furnished with art created by local artists and treasures that I've collected around Portland. I hope you'll have fun with the chalkboard wall in the dining room!

Perfect location and space for Girl's Weekend.

The unit is clean, updated and located on a quiet street within walking distance to downtown. There is a large hill but we walked everywhere including to the arts/theater district just over a mile away. Unit had a nice outdoor space and the kitchen has many extras. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are perfect. This is a great spot with off street parking.

It’s the little things that make a place great.

The house is actually the first floor of a large Victorian. Best we know, there are two other units upstairs.

Pros:

Great location to water. Walkable to restaurants and Old Port.

The space is very large.

Living room had comfortable furniture and space to relax together.

Beds were comfortable.

Kitchen large and well equipped.

Both bathrooms recently remodeled.

Entire space clean.

Good off street parking.

Owner very responsive.

Cons:

Larger house numbers. We arrived after dark and could not see the 2” house numbers on the door; no porch light. Had to park and walk house to house to verify #24.

Could hear upstairs neighbors walking around continually, especially early morning, preventing us from sleeping beyond 6:30. (Not their fault, but be aware)

The smaller bathroom had NO area for any personal items. Would suggest owner buy some type of shelving or cabinet as everything has to go on the floor.

There was only one hair dryer to share between both bathrooms, requiring some coordination when getting ready in the morning.

Only a partially filled box of Kleenex in one bath; nothing in the other.

All extra toilet paper stored in larger bath.

No luggage racks or chairs in either bedroom requiring luggage to be placed on the floor.

Entrance into hallway from outside very dingy. I know it’s an old house, but definitely needs some attention as this is the first place you see when you open the door.

These concerns may seem petty to some, but we’ve stayed at many VRBOs, and it really is the little things that make it five stars vs three.

This Place IS Perfect!

This house is a gem! It is the perfect location for walking to almost anywhere in the city you would want to go. There were four of us who stayed here (2 couples) but plenty room for 2 more. Loved it!

A wonderful place to stay!

This was our second time staying in Portland at this home and it was just as perfect as the first time. 3 comfortable beds, enough communal space, and a nice side yard. What the best part about the house is, how close it is to the water. I love taking my morning coffee to the waterfront and taking in the view. The home is also in close proximity to downtown Portland. Couldn't ask for a better experience!

Great Location-clean and well stocked

Our family of 6 (3 couples) stayed at this property and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We walked every day to downtown Portland and went along the sea shore for exercise and in search of great ice cream and donut shops.

The place has a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. The entrance is thoughtfully designed with a bench and cubbies for clothing and shoes. The kitchen and family room would benefit from ceiling fans or air conditioners as it was quite warm when the temperature was in the 80s (most of the week we stayed). The chalk board wall in the kitchen kept us on "schedule" and we enjoyed adding to it on a daily basis.

The owner was responsive to our emails and texts when we had questions or concerns. We liked Portland, ME very much and would recommend this property.

This freshly renovated apartment is located on Munjoy Hill. Downeast Magazine's recent article 'Cool on the Hill' characterizes this area as the hippest area in Portland. Located in a residential neighborhood, the apartment is steps from the Eastern Promenade park which has a beautiful lookout into Casco Bay. It's an easy walk to several fine restaurants, Rosemont Market, and Hilltop Coffee. Hop in your car and grab groceries at Whole Foods, Trader Joes, or Hannaford--all just 10 minutes away. Portland Trails provides a lovely walking trail along the water into downtown Portland. Portland is a foodie town, and it's difficult to find a bad meal here. Beaches are an easy 15 minute drive to South Portland, Cape Elizabeth, or Scarborough. East End Beach is located within the Eastern Promenade Park. From your rental, you can hear fog horns, see the moon rise over the bay, and hear the osprey overhead. Hop over to one of the many island in Casco Bay to spend the day peddling or walking around or take the 'mail boat' which stops at a handful of islands and makes a fun day trip. Outlet shopping is 20 minutes away in Freeport. So much to see and enjoy!
