About Angela McCallum
Gonzalo bought this apartment in 2008 and spent the next year renovating before getting transferred for work and thus putting it in the hands of Angela to rent out. Angela lived in Buenos Aires for seven years and has recently moved to New Orleans. A Louisiana native, Angela spent 20 years traveling the world. She and Gonzalo met through mutual friends. We have been working together for the past ten years. Friends and business partners. This is a combination that does not always work. Gonzalo is a chronic adventurer. He has had a bar in Sicily, a cafe in Lima, worked for a tech company for too many years (not doing that anymore), lived in a van in Spain, and more. Angela is also a world traveler, starting out in Italy as a nanny and then becoming an English teacher. She taught in Italy, Switzerland, Panama, France, Miami, and Egypt before leaving teaching behind to move to Argentina.

Why Angela McCallum chose San Telmo
Buenos Aires is massive and each neighborhood has its distinctive personality. San Telmo matches the vibe of both Gonzalo and Angela, free spirits who appreciate history, language, music, and beautiful things.
What makes this Apartment unique
In Buenos Aires' heyday, San Telmo was home to the immigrants from the old world. They came in such large numbers that there wasn't enough housing. The wealthy families had already moved to the Microcenter, Retiro and Recoleta. Their homes were turned into apartment buildings and the government built tenements (conventillos) to house even more people. This building is a famous conventillo from that era. Originally, two families would have lived here sharing the kitchen and bathroom and each with a room to the side.

Excellent apartment, excellent location, excellent service!
A very nice and well furnished apartment right in the heart of San Telmo. Angela and Grisel were very helpful. Perfect for a couple or one or two parents with kids.
Thanks so much, Clint. It was a pleasure to have you stay with us!
Our favorite day is Sunday in San Telmo. There is a huge street fair. In the plaza, there are tons of antique vendors who will be there until around 5pm. Then, all along Defensa Street, there are local vendors and musicians. They'll stay out later. Finally, at the end of the day, starting around 8pm there is an outdoor milonga (tango dance hall) in the plaza.
