A LOVELY COTTAGE WITH BAGS OF CHARACTER. Great communication with the owner, who met all our requests and had good local tips. Family highlight was the zoo and some very theatrical gibbons. Highly recommended. Mr. and Mrs S and family - September 2014
WE, A NORWEGIAN AND GERMAN COUPLE, spent an awesome weekend in this lovely cottage which has welcomed us with a bottle of a tasty Saumur cremant. It was a perfect choice for us, well equipped and clean. We enjoyed the indian summer in the two gardens. The location is perfect for trips to explore the beautiful region, for which one weekend was too short. Communication was perfect, questions were answered promptly. We appreciate very much that you have a sense of your visitors needs, and that you consider for example also guidance to handle emergency situations (which we fortunately did not need).

THE PROPERTY WAS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED and very comfortably furnished, with a very good kitchen equipped with all utensils. It is a 10/15 minute drive to shops and restaurants but their is a very good local boulangerie within walking distance. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, with long walks by the river, the chance to relax in the garden with home cooking and a base to explore the Loire valley, then its perfect. Mr M. A LOVELY COTTAGE with bags of character. Great communication from Colin, who met all our requests and had good local tips. Family highlight was the zoo and some very theatrical gibbons. Highly recommended experience. Mr and Mrs S. and family - Juillet 2014
Merci Mme. D er amis - juillet 2014
We (two couples) stayed in the cottage for a wonderful week in June. The setting is great if you want a quiet, relaxing place that is a short drive from culture and excitement. We had a wonderful time cooking in the well equipped kitchen and eating in one of the two delightful gardens. Angers and Saumur are a quick drive away (we didn't try use public transport but there is a bus stop a stones throw from the front door) and a boulangerie(sp?) a few minutes walk along the river-sode path.Mr D. and Friends - Juin 2014
WE HAD A LOVELY TIME at Riverside Cottage - it is a very comfortable place to stay, full of French country charm. Our hosts Colin and Myriam were very helpful and quick to respond to our enquiries. Spring was definitely a great time to be there - with the gardens in full bloom! Mr. P - AUSTRALIA - mai 2014
THE COTTAGE WAS IN A PICTURESQUE LOCATION, right on the banks of the Loire. When we stayed, it was a bit chilly in the old stone cottage, but I can imagine it would be perfect in slightly warmer weather. Colin was very easy to contact, and kindly offered to provide us with an extra heater. The gardens are lovely - we unfortunately didn't get time to take advantage of the rhubarb! We would definitely recommend this place for those wanting to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Loire and for a relaxing getaway. Mme. A. - avril 2014
Passionate about France, good food, simple living, design, plants and gardens. I studied in nearby Angers, (the centre of horticulture in France) some 20 years ago.
Travelling and the discovery of alternative ways of seeing and thinking. I have worked as a guide for botanical and garden tours and if I have a specialism it is in Indian Ocean flora.
We have let the cottage for the last 5 years. We live a short distance from the cottage, so you have the Independence of not having the owner on site but I will be more than happy to fill you in on whats happening in the area...
Colin and Myriam purchased this cottage in 2000

Very, very clean and comfortable.Lovely gardens to eat and relax in.Local bus very good. Excellent base for sight seeing and wine tasting!!!.We will definately be returning.
Really a comfortable spot, out of the way but close to several wonderful attractions and distractions. Wildlife, including otters, just across the street (street is on top of the levee), many chateaux and vignobles nearby.
The nicest surprise was the culinary and dining equipment. If you're accustomed to renting accommodations this will be a shock: cutlery was not blunt, copious (matching) stemware was not locked away, nor were dedicated escargot and oyster tools and serving ware, if you're into that; or there were nice plain white plates and cereal bowls if that's your thing.
Colin and Myriam were helpful and welcoming, and rumor has it Colin is a polyglot.
Bed and furniture were comfortable. Of course there are the usual character issues one expects from a house of this vintage: built-in tripping hazards, low head clearances here and there, steep stairs, typically inefficient kitchen layout, light switches in odd places, plumbing curiosities. All normal stuff, but probably unlike your house, especially if you're from the US.
Colin and Myriam, the owners, called to make sure we were settled in. They gave us information about the area and tips about local shops . The cottage was comfortable and well-appointed with two delightful private gardens. The Loire was literally across the road with otters and an array of birdlife. Quaint villages and open countryside were within easy reach, Saumur and its stunning chateau just a short drive away. It all made for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday
