Great Rental!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was great and easily accommodated 7 people. The downstairs was newly renovate which was a nice surprise. Plenty of wineries, restaurants, and other things to do close buy and great views.

Owners were very responsive and helpful. There was a small water issue that they promptly addressed and resolved.

Comfortable lake front cottage!

  • 4 of 5

My friends and I celebrated a bachelorette over the weekend and we were very comfortable here. The house was clean and roomy enough for a group of 11 girls. The downstairs was under construction but the host made the extra bathroom available for us. There was also a fire pit that we hoped to use but unfortunately we were rained out. My only complaint is about the water. It had a very strong sulfur smell that was hard to get out when someone showered or ran the sink water. We resulted to opening windows and lighting a candle. Definitely not a deal breaker for us though. I would consider staying here in the future if we ever plan another trip!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. The sulfur smell is common in this area when a house has a private well. It comes and goes and might be worse in the spring and fall when rentals are only on the weekends. I haven't had anyone else ever mention it but glad that you let me know.

Very cute, unexpectedly under construction

  • 3 of 5

Robyn, the owner, was very prompt and thorough in her communication which definitely is very much appreciated. The cottage is very cute and in good condition. It is tiny on the inside, but the huge covered porch definitely makes up for it. We rented the cottage for some of our wedding guests to stay at, and they really enjoyed the space. A week before our arrival, Robyn sent me an email to inform me that the bottom floor of the cottage would be under construction and not usable. The yard definitely looked like a construction site as well. Thankfully Robyn handled it very well and gave us a bit of a discount. Would definitely rent this again.

Perfect for a Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

I'm late on my review but wanted to say we had a wonderful time. We had 3 children ages 7-17 staying with us and plenty of room. The back deck is the center of this home and great views of the lake and sunset. We had a fire every night and ample wood was supplied. The kids loved the slide and exploring around the waters edge. We rented a boat a few days and nice to dock while we ate a quick lunch and back on the water. There is a steep stairway to the lakefront, but very doable for most people. The neighbors are great, friendly but not intrusive. We enjoyed the occasional visit from their 4 legged friends. Would recommend.

This place was so welcoming and comfortable. The front porch, overlooking Lake Seneca, is a delight. We lived out there, quiet mornings, awesome sunsets and easily containing two 2 year olds. Thanks, Robyn.

Great lake front retreat!!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely house! Except for sleeping (plenty of bedrooms and beds) our time was spent outside enjoying the great lake view on the large deck (awesome sunsets), down on the dock sun bathing, swimming and watching the kiddos slide down the water slide, canoeing or up in the spacious side yard cooking on the grill or enjoying a nightly bonfire. The lovely village of Watkins Glen is a 10 minute car ride away, with quality restaurants (Wildflower Crooked Rooster & Jerlando's Pizza), shops, boat rentals and of course a Walmart for your various needs. Also, a hike through the gorgeous Watkins Glen State Park Gorge is an awesome experience. Wine your thing? Well you will be in heaven. Wineries are all over the East side of the lake, with tastings, tours, restaurants and live entertainment. You even drive thru a vineyard on your way to the house off the main road.

If a relaxing lake experience, in a lovely setting, near a quaint Western New York village is your objective, then this home will make for a great HomeAway!
