Formerly the Western Union Telegraph Building, the Union Lofts now represent the pinnacle of urban living in New Orleans. The historic building dates back to 1927 and was renovated in the early 2000’s. The original telegraph was repurposed and now sits on display in the building’s lobby. Also on display throughout the building are bead sculptures by local artist John Lawson. This building has a unique New Orleans vibe.
Upstairs, your accommodations are modern through and through. Polished black concrete floors lead you straight from the entryway into the open concept living room and eat in kitchen. From the sofa to the kitchen cabinets, contrasting colors create a truly contemporary environment. Track lighting and large windows make the space feel open and bright.
The bedroom immediately off the living area features huge, translucent sliding walls that take advantage of the natural light. Asked my family to rate and all gave 5 stars! Nothing bad to say about this place. Was a great location, felt safe, spacious for family of 5. Beds comfy, extra towels and blankets, coffee and some snacks! Would stay here again :)
This is an excellent company, and the loft was an excellent value--very clean, very comfortable, and in a great location. My husband and I stayed there with our 22-year-old son and my parents, both in their 70s, and we had plenty of room. (My son complained just a little about the sofa sleeper, but it's no worse than any sofa sleeper.) I was especially pleased with the customer service; every phone call, beginning with booking the reservation, was answered promptly and professionally. I'm planning a trip to DC in the spring and have already looked into booking with Stay Alfred again.
Checking in and out was a breeze.
The location of the flat is absolutely perfect if you are looking to avoid the Bourbon Street area. A short walk to great food, drinks and coffee!
The best part was the fact that the house had Central AC! I have found this to be a rarity in NOLA.

This place was great! Perfect walking distance to Burbon, Jackson Square, and bunch of different places to shop. The only complaint I have is the condo's right next to a parking garage. Everytime a car exits the garage it beeps to let people around know a car is coming, which is great when your near it! BUT, in the middle of the night/early morning when your trying to sleep it's really annoying. It woke us up every morning. Other than that, it's a a great place! There was six of us total and it worked out perfectly. Plenty of towls, wash cloths, sheets, blankets, pillows. Anything you need. Made the stay really nice!
The condo was nice, clean, and it felt like the advertisement matched the real thing. The rooftop balcony was absolutely amazing and the neighbors we met were also very nice. Great distance from local restaurants, and Canal and Bourbon Streets (Daisy Dukes is highly recommended, as is the little convenience store down the street that sells fried chicken and beef patty's 24 hrs/day!). The only complaints we had are re: the pullout sofa bed and lighting. The bed was extremely lumpy and you could feel the springs and support bars while laying on it. It's also fairly small and would've been uncomfortable for two people to share it. The condo is also not that well lit, especially in the master bedroom. Aside from these two things, everything else was great!
