Our lake home is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath privately tucked into a large lake lot amongst towering Norway pines on 3rd Crow Wing Lake (southeast of Park Rapids and southwest of Nevis, MN.) With access to 2nd Crow Wing Lake and 4th Crow Wing Lake through channels you can boat and canoe for hours each day.
Enjoy swimming or canoeing. Boating, skiing, tubing and fishing are a perfect way to pass the time while at the cottage. For the fisherman, Third Crow Wing Lake hosts a large variety of fish including Walleye, Northern, Bass, Crappie and Sunfish. Watch the sunset sitting next to the shoreline camp fire. In Park Rapids, Dorset and Nevis you will find plenty of great restaurants and unique shopping spots. The area also offers many interesting and fun attractions, such as Itasca State Park where the Mississippi Headwaters is located, a local Winery, the Heartland Trail (a paved trail, excellent for biking, walking, running or rollerblading through the beautiful nature and countryside). A number of golf courses and ATV and snowmobile trails are also nearby.
The cabin has a large living room equipped with TV, DVD and VCR player. There is a large three-season porch to use for extra sleeping and dining for larger groups. There's a full kitchen with dining room. One bedroom has a queen sized bed and the second bedroom has both a queen and regular sized bed. The main floor bathroom has a tub/shower.
The kitchen is equipped with dishes, glasses, silverware, utensils, pots & pans and serving bowls. There is a microwave, stove, refrigerator, automatic coffee maker, and toaster. All beds are provided with linens, blankets, bedspread and pillows. We also provide kitchen linens and bath towels. We do not supply paper products such as paper plates and napkins but do supply items such as foil, plastic wrap and plastic bags.
The cabin comes with a resin patio table and chairs, Weber grill and dock provided. There is a fire pit next to the lake to enjoy a relaxing evening watching the sunset.

Our lake home was purchased as a vacation property for our family to enjoy. At the time of purchase our two daughters were 4 and 10 years of age. We have spent many great family vacations at our lake home, swimming, fishing, tubing and skiing - making great memories. My husband is a carpenter and is from the Nevis area. He has many family members in the area. I am an HR Manager and vacationed in this area every summer with my family when I was growing up. I met my husband while vacationing as a teenager and later when visiting my parents who had retired to the area, reconnected and we were married in 1986. We have and still do enjoy the peace and tranquility at our getaway. Our girls are now 16 and 22. We don't get to the lake home as much as we would like so we are beginning to rent it out in 2012. We hope you and your family will enjoy it as much as we have and that you will be able to enjoy family time that will create great memories.
Vicki and Robert DeVore purchased this house in 2000
My husband grew up in the Park Rapids/Nevis area and I vacationed in this area.
We enjoy many things on this property - it is a large lot and private. We fish both summer and winter. We swim, tube and ski the lake. A trip to town for shopping and a stop at the homemade candy shops is a must every visit. We LOVE the 4th of July celebrations and the fireworks are better than any in the state. Itasca State Park is the origin of the Mississippi and a must see just 40 miles north of the cabin. We are also just 15 minutes from the Heartland Trail for biking and hiking.
We stayed there for a long weekend and had a great time. Very clean and had everything we needed. Very clear lake.
Great little cabin on a beautiful lake. The description says it all. The DeVore's were great to work with! Would visit again.
It was the perfect getaway to catch up with a long time friend, watch sunsets and relax. It is close to Itasca State Park for day trips, where we enjoyed the hiking trails, the boat tour and eating lunch at Douglas Lodge. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed the porch immensely. Due to a family emergency, we had to cut our vacation short. Vicki was most understanding of our circumstances. She was a delight with whom to work.
Nice week. I slept like a log knowing I could get up and go fishing any time I wanted. Everything that is needed is provided. There is plenty of places to go--Park Rapids, Nevis, Walker, Itasca etc. Fishing is actually quite good and for August that is saying a lot. Privacy-distance from neighbors-is excellent. We had a real good time. I would recommend it. It's an easy place to stay--no complications.
We stayed at the cabin for our annual guys fishing trip. In the 30 years we've been going this was by far the nicest place we've stayed. Clean, comfortable, quiet, and we caught plenty of fish. Vicki checked in upon arrival just to make sure everything was OK and if we had any questions. We woke the first morning to a pair of bald eagles perched in the tree above the dock. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place on the water.
We had a wonderful time. The cabin/house was very comfortable, kitchen had everything you needed, beds great and the view was amazing. The lake is very much geared to fishing.
Had some very nice boat cruises on the lake, great bonfires and just a great atmosphere for relaxing on the porch. It is about a 15 minute drive to Dorset and 20 minutes to Park Rapids so very convenient, close enough to run in for something but far enough for quiet and solitude. Road out front had minimal cars so that didn't bother us. Vicki and Bob were super nice and so generous.
