Efficiency unit as part of a duplex where one other efficiency exists. Room appears exactly as the pictures suggest. The overall complex consist of 10 similar units in three separate buildings and a renovated old Sea Captain House. The grounds are well maintained with your own exterior garden sitting area with a grill and a small table . Laundry center is available on site in the main facility for guest to use as they wish. Beach chairs are available to guests as well.
Stones throw from two restaurants, located in what many consider the fines town in all of Cape Cod. Enjoy the vibrant New England Village Center that Chatham is famous for; or explore the 66 miles of coastline.Visit the barrier beaches and the plethora of Eco tourism opportunities.
We enjoyed our stay in this cute cottage (It's more of a duplex cottage-but a cottage none-the-less). It's a great price for what you get. I would definitely stay here again. We had no problem finding where we staying; all of the information including which unit we were staying in was emailed to me, but not until I emailed the owner 2 days prior to our arrival to get this information as I had not heard from them about the checking in process and they do not have that information on Home Away. It would be great if they added info to their property listing that can be accessed via the Home Away app. The room was clean and has everything you could possibly need: stove top, microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, all the kitchen accessories you might need to cook and they even provide a grill outside for your personal use. They also give you beach chairs and beach towels for the beach nearby (it's about a 1/2 mile walk to the small beach). I had no complaints about the unit, but I do think others should be aware that the shower is small. I am a small to average size female and it was difficult to move around in there. Right around the corner is a restaurant called Pisces. It is Michelin rated and comes highly recommended but you will need to make reservations in advance as we could not get in during our stay because they were booked. My only suggestion would be that the owner clearly communicated the process for checking in and out prior to our arrival, but we truly enjoyed our stay.
This little cottage provided everything needed for a short stay in the area. The bed was comfy ,bathroom clean, keys on the table waiting for us ...and a gift of wine in the fridge ...thank-you. Oh , and coffee cream too ...
We enjoyed it's proximity to a delightful restaurant called The Talkative Pig ...walking ...about 3 mins away ...lovely.
It was a bit tricky to identify from the street as it is set towards the back of a larger property visually . The locals were not aware of it's name either . Perhaps a decorative sign above the door as is so common on the cape anyway ...would help.
Chairs and a small table were available for outside use , but the setting doesn't provide much of a view ...location in this respect is not a strength ...however considering the price , it can still be worthwhile . It was a quiet place for my husband to read , and I mostly shopped in nearby Chatham ( my husband drove me ) or went to the beach . The walk to the beach was 20 mins for me ...a 50 something who is in good shape..in warm weather ...thank God for the warm Cape days :) . A bike for this would be a blessing .
All in all ...a great deal for the price...as long as you have a good means of transportation available.
We enjoyed our week's stay. The property was very clean, there was just about everything we needed. We appreciated the complimentary wine. Getting there was confusing, just needed to know that it's part of Harding House and it would have saved us a half hour of searching for it. Once we found the number in my email we were directed around the corner to the property. TV, WiFi, stove and refrigerator all in good working order, coffee maker, toaster oven and microwave too. We cooked breakfast in the cabin and went off for our daily adventures. Bike path is right down the road, which is why we were there. If you aren't looking for a place that you'll spend a lot of time indoors it would be a good home base. The little bunny hopping around the yard some mornings was a bonus surprise. :-)
Laundry available on site, although we were prepared with towels and didn't use it. Lots of places to eat just down the road. Would definitely go back.
So when we got there the door to our unit was locked! So I went up to the main house and luckily found some workers there who guided just up the street (north) to the main office (Summers Cleaning-brown house on right just after post office). There my bf found a house keeper who went down to the unit just after we did to make sure we had everything we needed. The place is simply...Beautiful! I loved it! She stocked us up with clean linens and towels and offered us a bottle of Beach House wine. Ofcourse, we did not decline. :)
Chatham is peaceful, beautiful and there you will find tons to do & everything you need! A stop&shop was not too far a way. We went there and did some food shopping! Esp since we had the grille to use! The winter in Boston was dredful so to have a grille and some good weather we were syked and so we got all the goodies! We pretty much cooked and ate right there the whole time! You will be washing dishes constantly! But pretty much everything you need is there! I have never seen such a compact place such as this! The best thing we brought was paper towels, big garbage bag, seasonings, aluminum foil, plastic sandwich bags, (obv toiletries).
The only cons abt the place is that there is no 24hr contact should you need or something happens. I called Mina a few times and left messages with no responses. The fan light is energy efficient so i thought it blew so i ran and called when it was fine but she never bothered to call back. The smoke and carbon detecters were not hooked up so be very careful! 😬
But boy, we will def be back again! Chatham had us daydreaming abt retirement homes when we get older! Then we learned that the real estate there is in the millions! But this is a perfect way to experience Chatham! Enjoy!
Great location, well equipped, clean and nicely presented property exactly as shown in photos. Booking and check in were very easy due to helpful, responsive owner/manager.
This was a nice place for two people to stay at. There wasn't a lot of room, but as long as you're not wanting to spend a lot time in doors then it works well. The room was decorated nicely and was clean when we arrived. The beach is a five minute walk away and the place is located in a really nice area.
The biggest challenge when booking this place was getting information from the owners as to the specific address and how check in and check out worked. I had to contact VRBO directly to have them provide me with an alternate phone number to contact a property manager to get the necessary information about the place. Once we talked to the manager everything went smoothly from there.
Overall, I'd recommend staying here.
