This was a very satisfying week staying in a wonderful old farmhouse. The house and grounds were well-maintained, and the views from the property were amazing, and a constant reminder of the rural coastal past (and present - there seem to be many working farm operations in the area). The beach was fantastic and not crowded even on the weekend.
I highly recommend this spot and will definitely consider renting it again.
charming, old-fashioned farm house
Beautifully situated on lovely semi-rural road, this modest, old-fashioned farm house is perfect for a no-frills get away. Green painted wide-board floors in the upstairs rooms are especially charming. Distant water views and sunsets make it a joy to be there. The chef may experience frustration with the pared-down though perfectly functional kitchen. Overall vibe earns my 5 stars.
This home is wonderful. Stunning water views from every window in this lovingly restored and maintained period home with charming details placed throughout. The perfect place to go, relax, and get away from it all. The peaceful property has a commanding view over Fogland beach and the Sakonnet waterways leading into the Atlantic ocean. It was great to just go an explore all the little pockets of beauty throughout, and enjoy the start of the fall season. As an artist, I found the property inspirational and fueling for my creative spirit. This home was definitely the retreat I needed, and the caretakers are amazing. Love this place- would love to return.
Where New England meets the Water...
Exactly what we were looking for. Late summer days enjoying the quiet beach just down the hill...evenings at home enoying sunset water views across the rolling farmland. Ideal for idle contemplation.

August 2013 -- If you are looking for peace and quiet, in a charming setting, with stunning views from every angle, this is shangri-la. The house, complete with barn, charcoal grill, adirondack chairs, and a pretty white picket fence, is perfectly positioned at a rise in the road leading to Fogland beach. The panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and seascape were magical. The house, while giving a nod to the past -- my children said it felt like Grandma's -- was clean and comfortable, with TV, internet, and big comfy sofa and chairs. The owners couldn't have been more helpful in making us feel at home and providing recommendations for shopping, dining, and even wind sailing lessons!
