First the good stuff. Beautiful beach, nice pool area but crowded and not much deck space. Location is good for young kids as there are many activities for them within a 5-10 minute drive. That's it for the good stuff.
We stayed in a one-bedroom condo for our final week of summer vacation. The unit was old and had not been well maintained. There was grime and dirt everywhere and the bathroom smelled moldy. The floor had sand all over it even though the unit was on the 4th floor and was supposed to have been clean when we arrived. There were only a few dishes, no cookware and no beach towels even though we were ON THE BEACH. The property itself was old and dirty. There was trash in the hallways that stayed for days. There were rules posted everywhere telling you what not to do. But no welcoming signs indicating they were happy to have you as their guests. The water park was a joke. Half of the sprayers didn't work properly and there were broken chairs laying around the edge of the water area. It was not what we expected and disappointing.
The worst part was the staff, specifically the security firm hired by the condo association. These "want-to-be-cops" walked around hassling everyone, including small children, who crossed over any "rule". In the pool area they did not allow any jumping in the pool, no pool toys, no music, no snacks or drinks near the pool edge, no one allowed without a wrist band even if you were staying there. They'd swarm around you just waiting for a violation to pounce. I witnessed them strongly addressing young children, including ours. They were rude and nothing more than over-grown bullies. My children were terrified of them.
We travel a lot and take the good with the bad. We tend to focus on the fun times and have many wonderful memories of past vacations. That was not the case here. We could have gotten past the old, run down accommodations if not for the overly aggressive and hostile "Security Guards". It was a disappointing experience and we have no desire to return ever.
Beware...the condo owners are not happy to have you there. They are only interested in taking your money and ensuring you follow their extreme rules. And they've hired the perfect security firm to make sure you do.
