Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday villa in Vila Do Porto - House on a Sun Kissed Island I

Although I own the house since 1994,it is known as Casa di Angelo,former owner

The house is airy and on a sunny day is flooded with light.It is a newly constructed house and guesthouse,having kept the exterior elements of a typical Santa Maria house,so it blends into it's surroundings.

The main house has a large living/dining area upstairs,with a kitchen,large wood burning fireplace,that keeps the house at low humidity level and warm temperatures in the winter.( the island has a maritime climate).There is also a single bedroom and next to it a bath upstairs.

The lover half of the house has two bedrooms and a big bath with shower and bathtub.The larger bedroom has also a walk in closet, french doors to the terrace and off the terrace the laundry room with washer and drier.

The guest house is connected by a walkway to the main house and has it's own terrace overlooking the property.

It consists of an eat in kitchen,all glassed in and doors to the terrace.The bedroom/living room has it's bed up on a platform with steps leading up to it,a sofa,armchair,closet and shelves underneath. The bathroom is spacious and has also plenty of cupboards.Because the property is so large and the big and small house are entirely separate , I rent out both houses individually if the travelers group consists of 2-3 people only. Both houses are equipped ,so that they provide full comfort to their guests.

The property is 2500 square meter large, this is a place where you go to recuperate after a stressful year. There is ocean view from the terrace of the main house and you can admire the dazzling night sky with miriads of stars,you only see on an unspoilt island like Santa Maria

Santa Maria was a love at first site, as a vacation paradise. We bought the house that looked charming on a large property, little did we know, that European building standards were not existent just a few years prior.So , trying to replace the windows was not successful,the whole house fell apart.

Shortly, there was nothing to do but rebuild and we built a house that fits as perfectly into it's environment as the old one,but of course inside it was ready for the 21st century.

Why julia bocek chose Azores

Our first Santa Maria trip took place in 1994, because we saw a very enticing video clip about the Azores.We came back the following year and the year after, apparently while lying on the waves and looking up in the sky I said: It doesn't get any better. Now, to be sure my husband has no witness for this and the kids were nowhere near, but be it as it may we bought that summer the charming house of which only one random wall exist next to the small house, which we left there on purpose

What makes this villa unique

I love the view from the front terrace and the sites you see from the top of the property , where an old citrus tree grows: The windmills, the airport, the ocean are all there to be admired.

großzügiges Ferienhaus mit allem Komfort

Wir, Familie mit zwei Kindern (14,11) haben eine sonnige Woche in diesem geräumigen Ferienhaus verbracht. Gute Lage mit Meerblick, ca. 8 Minuten Autofahrt zum schönen Sandstrand. Sehr gute Ausstattung, großes Bad und Küche. Es war alles da, was man benötigt. Sehr nette Vermieterin und Betreuung vor Ort. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder!

Car: recommended

Malbusca is a village about 5 km to the large sandy beach,it is perched on large lava rocks overlooking the ocean.It gets more rain than the northern and eastern coast of the island,so it is all green even when the rest of the island looks dry.
