About Travis Scheff
My name is Travis Scheff and I am a local business owner who lives onsite in this beautiful 100-year-old historic building. Laura Hanan and family completely renovated this mixed-use building and built two beautiful identical high-end condos featuring custom cherry wood cabinetry, original brick walls, and refinished 100-year-old Doug Fir wood floors and artwork throughout.
Travis Scheff purchased this Condo in 2000
Why Travis Scheff chose New Tacoma
We found this beautiful old building - a dusty gem - in the heart of downtown Tacoma, the Theater District. We saw the raw potential of the area and since purchasing and remodeling our building we are in the center of a lovely new restaurant, pub, and brewery row, including a lively bar and grill 'The Office' downstairs in the building. We are proud that our building is also on the local register of historic buildings. A new Pacific Northwest heavy-hitter anchor tenant, McMenamins is being built less than two blocks away from our building and will feature a music venue, theatrical events, and a brew pub in the grand old historic Elks Building.
What makes this Condo unique
We love to pamper our guests with condos that are furnished tastefully and include all original artwork. A complimentary bottle of wine, pound of fresh coffee, and chocolates await our visitors. We live on site available to help out with restaurant suggestions and information about the wonderful local events and places to visit in beautiful Washington state.

Gem in the Heart of Tacoma
Loved my stay here! I ended up extending my travel nurse contract for another 13 weeks and was so happy that this condo was still available to accommodate me! Located in the heart of downtown Tacoma with many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Condo itself is quiet, private, clean and had everything I needed and more to feel comfortable and at home. Huge plus was having Travis (landlord) next door and available via text if I needed anything. I would highly recommend staying here and if I came back to Tacoma, this is where I would want to stay!
Thank you Julianne for your continued stay with us it was a pleasure having you. Hope your travels bring you back out this way again some day. Travis
Vibrant, decorative and comfortable apt in the heart of downtown Tacoma!
I'm a travel nurse and I've recently extended my contract and will be staying in this apartment for another three months! Location is ideal, literally steps away from countless bars and restaurants. Parking is free with rent and is located kitty-corner across the street in parking garage. When I first moved in, I instantly felt like I was home. Apt is well decorated, comfortable bed and large bathroom equipped with jetted bathtub. Kitchen has all supplies you can think of including basics like cooking oil, spices, etc. I look forward to my extended stay here and would definitely recommend this apt to anyone else looking to stay in the area.
Loved my stay !

Best Studio in Tacoma's Theater District
Laura made my first VRBO experience easy and wonderful. She was quick to respond about the rental and to any questions I had during my stay. She even had a bottle of wine, chocolates, and coffee for my arrival. I stayed in her studio for 3 months while I was doing a travel nurse assignment at Multicare-Tacoma General. It was within walking distance to the hospital and to all the great restaurants, breweries, theaters, and museums. The studio is spacious and beautifully decorated with art by her, her husband, or friends of theirs. It has an updated kitchen equipped with everything you need and a large bathroom with a shower and Jacuzzi tub. The balcony is spacious as well and has a very nice grill connected to a gas line. In the 3 months I stayed in Laura's studio, I only had to buy food at the grocery store. She has the place fully stocked with bathroom supplies (towels, shampoo/conditioner, body soap, lotion, hand soap, toilet paper, tissue paper) and kitchen supplies (dishwasher soap, paper towels, trash bags, cleaning supplies). The studio is also pet friendly. I had my 4 year old Great Dane with me. There is a park very close by with lots of green space and dog poop bags. Laura also provides garage parking. Everything about this Theater District studio is perfect.
