Here is the three kids enjoying another boring day in Exuma. They couldn't bring the family dog, so they had to settle for the swimming pigs.
Mike McNamara purchased this villa in 2008
Very private and secluded, yet can easily access all of the island amenities.
My family just returned from a week's stay in this villa and had the trip of a lifetime. Exuma is amazing and this villa was a perfect home base for us. The villa is well furnished and great for a large group (we had 19 total between two villas on property - 9 in this villa). The beach at Jimmy Hill was spectacular - the water was cool and calm, we never worried about our youngest or oldest travelers (ages 9-75). This villa is super convenient to the airport and both ends of the island. We met the on-site property manager the first day when he introduced himself and offered to help in any way. The owner was also super responsive and great to work with. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us!
Everything about this spot was perfect. Two families of four traveling with college-age kids. The 4/4 arrangement was perfect. The kitchen is beautiful and stocked with everything you need. The view is out of this world. The pool is nice and the hot tub a real plus. The beach is long and gorgeous, unlike most of the other beachfront rentals offered. The view is spectacular from all of the rooms - the double masters is particularly nice. The location is 15 minutes north of Georgetown - so there's lots of privacy - but you are not far from everything. We looked at a ton of places before deciding to rent this one - and it was the best decision of the whole trip. Mike is very helpful with everything from stocking the kitchen, to restaurants, fishing and boat tours. The complex is very well cared for - and just about a mile from the airport. You just can't go wrong with this place!
The property was beautiful, the location was great, and we loved our stay. The owner could not have been more helpful and the unit was well equipped. Restaurants are sparse so we did cook more than we planned on, but as Mike suggested Prime Market is the place to go. Loved our day swimming with the pigs with Four C's Adventures and would highly recommend them. Splash has a great Conch pizza and you must see Kaylin at Two Turtles for his special drink - we have actually know him for years from Bimini Sands so it was great to run into him. Truly loved the condo, the beach and the pool, all so relaxing and a spring break success. Thank you Mike!
We haven't even left yet (flights today) but thought I would write now while my mind is still occupied with thoughts of blue water, snorkeling, relaxing, laughing, playing frisbee in the waves... this was a great vacation. Rented with family and friends (9 of us) of all ages. The house is absolutely great - just ridiculous views, quiet, extremely comfortable (furniture is nice, not junky) and the beds are terrific - slept as well as I sleep at home. Bathrooms, kitchens, all excellent. We couldn't use the outdoor patio much for dinner because of the gnats (not a problem in all seasons but a problem in August, apparently) but it's lovely and of course the views from inside or out are amazing. The pool and pool deck with nice furniture and shade are great too - we swam in the pool almost every day, after spending hours in the surf. Everything here (unlike other places I have stayed in Exuma and in other tropical locales) is extremely well kept up. We had groceries pre-ordered so that when we arrived on a Sunday, we had plenty of food to snack on and then make dinner - Mike, the wonderfully responsive owner, will help with connecting to services such as grocery shopping, car rentals, snorkeling excursions. At the recommendation of another reviewer on this site, we spent $50 (both ways) to check a suitcase of food such as peanut butter and olive oil and goods such as TP, ziplock bags, and dish detergent, and were glad we did - the prices are double and triple what you would spend at home, and we used everything we brought. (well, we have left some TP rolls for the next lucky renter! :-)) Wifi was great, TV fine, DVD in living room broken but it didn't matter at all (and there are DVDs in the bedrooms too). Great selection of books if you didn't come down with a list in mind, too. I read a few of them! Mike gave us all kinds of suggestions for eating out and live music venues and all, but with nine of us and the youngest 12, and the hours of swimming and snorkeling we did every day, we mostly stayed home for dinner and the kitchen has every tool necessary to make full dinners. We DID make it to Santana's, and it was absolutely delicious. I have been to Exuma before and the restaurants in general are mediocre, so I didn't expect much when told this was the best restaurant on the island - but it really was great (the lobster...wow). Perfect place for dinner after a stop at Tropic of Cancer beach.
Thank you, Mike, for all your help and advice.
Wow! First off, Mike is so great and low key to work with. Easiest rental ever. The property is incredible. So beautiful inside and out. Perfect for 10 people. We all loved it!
When Mike first gave directions that included take the only road, turn left at round about and count to 30 turn right.... I thought... What? Is this real? It was but I had to reality check all week because it was so beautiful!
The island is a check out place. All you need is a bathing suit, snorkel and the ability to unplug.
Thank you for allowing us to rent your gorgeous home for a week. Would for sure return. Right now, if I could!
We had a party of 10 who went down to spend our birthdays. We saw the photos on line and knew we needed 4 bed/4bath for easy operation. When we arrived the door was open and whispered "come hither". It beckoned to an awesome view of the beach and gorgeous blue waters that Exuma is known for. We only had a weekend which was just too short but this home was the best way for us to spend it. With 10 people no one was under foot and everything we needed was there, including games and movies, in case we were not worn out after a fab day in and on the water. For couples or families we highly recommend this home. The owner, Mike will provide you with all the details you need when it comes to things to do or places to go. Enjoy!!!
