Magnificently restored recently, the apartment is clear, airy, sunny and is modern while remaining romantic
In the south part of the Old Town of Nice, this perfectly positioned hip hotel style apartment is a 30 seconds stroll from the Cours Saleya -the very heart of Nice with its famous flowers/fruit vegetable/and antique markets and its cafés/pubs/restaurants) and just 60 seconds walk from the beaches of the fantastic Promenade des Anglais. Extremely bright, sunny and airy with its high ceilings. This stylish studio apartment has been renovated 3 years ago including brand new plumbing and electrics. The kitchen and the bathroom are also brand new and high quality. - A perfect proof that you can live with today's hi-technology in the yesterday's Old Nice. You will nevertheless have to go downs thirty steps to go to bring back, from the bakery of the corner, the morning croissants or opposite, to savour thbest ice creams of region by Fenocchio. We were very happy with our ten day stay at Simone and Claude's apartment especially the excellent location just one block off the Cours Saleya market with it's convenient underground parking garage. Claude and Simone were delightful and caring hosts and easy to communicate with via text and the VRBO website. Upon arrival we were greeted by their charming daughter, Cecile, who walked us through the apartment. The interior is an L-shaped open plan with tall ceilings and new double-pane casement windows on two sides for good cross-ventilation. It has a new, well-equipped kitchen and a recently updated bathroom with a comfortable size walk-in shower and new Bosch washing machine. There is a new Rowenta iron and ironing board for your convenience, along with a Nespresso pod coffee maker, mini-fridge and electric stove top and oven. The apartment was spotless with no odors or fragrances of any kind and it had a comfortable bed and cold A/C. It is a 3rd floor (U.S.)/2nd Floor (France) walk-up with no elevator. Typical of most older buildings the stairwell retains its antique character. It is in a lively area directly across from a highly popular Fenocchio's ice cream shop but it was very quiet most nights. There are exterior shutters and curtains on the windows but there is still some light from a corner street lamp that could bother some people-- hang onto those eyeshades from your plane trip if you need pitch darkness to sleep. The neighborhood feels very safe and you will literally have hundreds of wonderful restaurants within easy walking distance. We particularly enjoyed 'Le Panier' restaurant just down the street. Less than two blocks to the beach. Excellent value and highly recommended!
This is a great apartment in a great location. The apartment is a blend of old world charm with a complete and modern kitchen. Plenty of room and a very comfortable bed. Great starting point for touring the area including day trips to Monaco or Cannes. Lovely markets, restaurants and shops minutes away by walking. Wonderful hosts, Claude and Simone. We would not hesitate to re-book in the future.
This is a clean, comfortable, well-equipped, secure studio apartment in an interesting and lively neighborhood that is a very short walk to the sea and an easy walk to excellent bakeries, fine restaurants, a wonderful and overflowing food and flower market and the old town of Nice. The owners answered our questions promptly. It is a great value in a city like Nice. What more could you ask?
We are fellow VRBO owners (#405452), and know what is involved in creating a welcoming, lovely place for guests. We have been very impressed with EVERY aspect of this lovely flat. From the kitchen appliances and dishes to the plush bed, no detail has been overlooked. It's actually more beautiful than in the photos - the photos don't do it justice.
We were met personally by the owners who could not have been more helpful. They really care about providing the best experience possible for their guests.
This flat is a 2 minute walk to the beach and is surrounded by the charming, narrow pedestrian streets we from the U.S. find so appealing and so different from home. It's in the middle of restaurants, cheese shops, gelato, and the famous flower market of old Nice.
I would look no further than this if experiencing old European culture appeals to you.
