This unique home has been painstakingly decorated and furnished to a very high level, in the distinctive Bahamian style. Your style of living in this home will be very Bahamian as well, with large French doors that open up to provide an open plan for tropical indoor/outdoor living. The pool is just steps away from the living room sectional or the outdoor dining area. You?ll never want to leave this peaceful oasis, and yet you'll be just two blocks from Duval Street, with all its attractions, like the Green Parrot and Willie T's to enjoy some live music, Mallory Square for entertainment and a sunset stroll. Best of all, you?ll be less than a half mile from the Fort Zachary Taylor State Park Beach for a day of snorkeling and sun.

Combine the uniquely Bahamian decor of this home with the perfect location and the amenities of a private heated pool and private off-street parking, and you have the ideal spot to relax and recharge.

THE POOL & PATIO...

The pool is large enough for everyone in your group, with plenty of room to swim around with both sun and shade throughout the day.

The pool area includes comfortable chaise lounges to relax in your own oasis all day. A large propane BBQ grill sits in the back yard as well. There is a full outdoor dining set right by the pool for a great island meal after a day of sun.

THE COMMON AREAS...

The open living plan, with those big French Doors is perfect for entertaining. The living area has a plush sectional sofa. There are additional comfortable chairs in front of a large flat screen HDTV with full cable and DVD player. There's the fully equipped chef's kitchen, a beautifully designed space with gourmet appliances created for those who LIVE in the kitchen (when you're not dining at one of the amazing nearby restaurants). You'll find lots of hidden treasures in this kitchen: from the extra bar seating for three, to the 42' counter-depth refrigerator/freezer. Off the kitchen is a lovely dining area that overlooks the open living area.

THE ACCOMMODATIONS...

The master bedroom is on the second floor, with a grand King-sized bed, flat screen TV, walk-in closet, plenty of dresser space, and private balcony overlooking the pool area. The master bathroom is en-suite, with dual sinks and an oversized shower. The second bedroom upstairs has a queen bed, a private balcony and a full bathroom in the hall. The third bedroom is on the first floor, with two Twin sized beds that convert to 1 King upon request. The third full bathroom on the first floor has a shower.

Truman Annex is the most exclusive private residence community in Old Town Key West. Located just off the main drag of Duval Street, Truman Annex is an oasis of calm, quiet streets lined with palm trees and beautiful Floridian homes. Great location

Our family stayed in the Bahamian Bamboo for a week. We enjoyed the convenient location with the safety of being in a gated neighborhood. The house was equipped with everything we needed. The pool is mostly shaded but was refreshing after a hot day in the sun. Very clean and comfortable.

A beautiful house in a great location!

The house is spacious, well decorated, comfortable and clean. It also offers virtually complete privacy and its location in Truman Annex is ideal - far from the tourist noise but an easy walk everywhere. The service was also impeccable - friendly, courteous, welcoming and quite responsive when any needs arose. All in all a wonderful experience!

Simply put, best vacation ever!

Second time staying here. It is very expensive but worth it for the peace and tranquility it provides! Great location. Great ambiance. It is clean and well maintained. The backyard tropical vegetation is amazing with a delightful pool situated right in the middle! Having covered parking was really nice! Can't wait till I come again! Shel was there as the perfect host eager to help even with the simplest request. He makes you feel safe and is just a phone call away if you need anything! I have stayed at over 30 different places in Key West and this is by far the best!!!

We loved our stay at the Bahamian Bamboo

We have rented homes before, this residence was by far the nicest one. The rooms were large for our adult children. A small office off of the master was perfect for our little grand baby so mom and dad could get a good nights sleep. Shel was very helpful with great places to rent bikes, restaurants off of the the grid, and even the best baby toy rentals ever! Within walking, running, biking to beaches, restaurants etc. I like this side of the island the best!

Great property with perfect location

The Truman Annex is possibly the best location to stay in old Key West. The Bahamian Bamboo residence is a few blocks from the Truman White House, Hemingway home, Duval Street, Mallory SQ, great restaurants and a short walk to the busy marina area.

Our family of six, all adults, stayed here during the first week in February. All of us were pleased with how comfortable the house was and the amenities within. The first floor bedroom residents may be inconvenienced by having to use the first floor bathroom which is not connected to the bedroom. The prime time rental cost is worth it considering location, comfort and the alternatives.
