About Nancy Lazarus

Rick and Nancy Lazarus live south of Ithaca and love Cayuga Lake and the sunsets from its east shore. This is our summer lake house, a quiet retreat.

Why Nancy Lazarus chose Cayuga Lake

The lake access and views are great, plus Bill George Road is a quiet and wooded road great for walking and bike riding. There are some houses on the lake side and a couple of small gorges. Great blue herons fly up and down the lake every day. Owls hoot at night. Rick is a timber frame barn restorer and he built this charming little house about 10 years ago.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We truly loved our stay and it reminded me so much of a family cabin we

used to enjoy. We have already thought about a return stay so don't be

suprised! Thanks again for sharing your little retreat.

Great rustic little cabin right on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cozy little cabin right on the lake and wish we could have stayed longer! Perfect for a couple's getaway, and with all the outdoor space and that gorgeous view...it was hard to leave! Kitchenette is equipped with all the essentials, making it easy for pancakes in the morning and grilling at night. Nancy was very responsive and a great host. This place will forever hold a special place in our hearts, as it's where my (now) fiancé decided to ask me to marry him! We hope to be back some day!

Perfect lakeside getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent two nights at the cabin the first week of September with our shepherd mix, and all three of us loved every minute of it. The cabin is sweet and cozy, the lake is beautiful, and the neighborhood is quiet. It rained off and on, which didn't bother us, because we would repair to the cabin to read, nap, or play games. We grilled out both nights with food purchased from the Lansing Market, which is just a quick drive into town. The cabin's owners are kind and responsive; they made sure we felt at home and had everything we needed. Like many of the other reviewers, we hope to return as soon as possible to this truly special place!
