About Valerie Harvey
My husband and I both work and enjoy spending time in Thermopolis to soak and relax.
Valerie Harvey purchased this House in 2007
Why Valerie Harvey chose Thermopolis
Thermopolis is within driving distance from our home. We have vacationed here for many years. Soaking in the hot springs has been a joy in our lives. We always feel rejuvenated from the mineral hot springs.

Very comfortable place to relax.
A lot of thought went into making this retreat a great experience. Nice little details throughout. Cute and cozy.
Thank you so much. Hope you choose to stay with us again.
As advertised, a writer's cottage perfect for a single or couple
I wanted to get away from my city obligations, no distractions, somewhere I'd have complete privacy yet not be so isolated that I felt vulnerable (or that I couldn't easily get coffee or groceries). The house is cozy and homey, with everything a writer would want and need for a few days or longer. It's not an upscale place-- that is, if you want luxury, look elsewhere-- but it's sweet, quiet, clean, and everything you could want is provided. You'll have a car of course (because, otherwise, you won't be able to get to Thermopolis) and you'll need it to get around and visit the remarkable area, but the house is well-situated next to a laundromat, a 2-minute walk from fast food, a 3-minute walk to the grocery store, a 3-minute drive to downtown (health food store, coffee shop, diner, sandwich shops and other places to eat) and it's a 5-minute drive to the hot springs thermal pools. There's a mature, semi-wild garden of grasses, hollyhocks, bushes and trees that makes a good, green barrier between the house and street, and in the morning, you'll see a family of deer grazing around the shrubs. I was there a couple of very productive weeks and hope to come back for another week in the future. Thermopolis is a quiet little town surrounded by geological and other natural and cultural wonders, from its red bluffs ...to the Wind River Canyon... to the petroglyphs at Legend Rock ...to the travertine formation and hot pools of the springs...to the nearby tribal lands. While the place is perfect for one, it is big enough for two, but there's just one bedroom/one bed, so I wouldn't recommend it for non-intimate friends; it seems it would feel tight.
Thank you for the terrific review. Very descriptive. Loved it.
Sincerely, The Harvey's
Charming little cottage. Pretty garden. Quiet area. Very welcoming.
We stayed a week. Home was the perfect size for two people. It was a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. The owner checked with us to make sure our stay was without problems. Made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend.
Thank you for choosing to stay with us. Hope to see you again in the future.
It was quiet place to stay and relax.
Small and cozy but definitely could use a professional cleaning. Carpet throughout (even the bathroom), a bit of a dog and/or mildew odor and lack of ventilation were a downer, likewise the lack of natural light but we were grateful for the air conditioner and use of a kitchen.
Thank you for your review. I'm sorry you were disappointed -- A professional cleaner will be in my home this week and I am planning to replace the carpet in the bathroom with tile or vinyl .
Wonderful delight in Thermopolis.
Oh man, if you like quaint and cosy ( and relaxing) at an affordable price, this place is for you. Nice cottage-style home, fantastic garden and patios front and back, full kitchen, wifi, AC. Great bed, quiet neighborhood ( although within 2-4 miles of the featured local springs, museum, and a 90 mile drive or so into Yellowstone Park ( Frankly, had I known, I would have paid more per night!)
Our hostess and handyman was responsive, friendly, and helpful. Gave us great "inside scoop" on things to do in the area, shortcuts, local knowlege and so forth ( Apparently Arnold Schwarzegger liked the town of Thermopolis too He had been seen around town)
For our purposed, which was using the cozy home as a "home base" for day road trips, it wa a cozy convenient, affordable, quiet respite from the long days of touring around. Valerie checked in a time or two, made sure we were ok or needed anything, but left us to our devices and great nights of sleep. With the garden, saw many birds and critters, even a large deer in our next door neighbors yard. Was just fantastic,
Thanks for the great time Valerie, we hope to come back in the next year or two
