Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a wonderful time at Cascade Village Durango. The condo was delightful – very comfortable for our family of four (including two teenagers) and the wood fireplace was an added delight. All the amenities were all in place and we even cooked Christmas Eve dinner in the condo. We used the free shuttle to the ski resort daily and enjoyed a relaxing hot tub at day’s end. My older son and I drove to Silverton on Christmas Eve day to enjoy the festivities.

Beautiful location, comfortable apartment

Loved the Autumn visit!

My husband and I had a wonderful autumn weekend exploring the Durango/Silverton area. The fall colors were gorgeous, the weather was just perfect. We're not ski people, so we wouldn't be interested in the ski resort, but this time of year was every bit as wonderful for a visit.

The condo was great. Immaculately clean, nicely decorated, very comfortable.

The only reason I can't give this 5 stars is because the bed in the master bedroom was miserably uncomfortable. It's hard, no springs, no cushion.

If the bed were replaced, we would absolutely go back to this unit again.

Owner's Response: Hi Leslie, Thank you so much for your wonderful review of our one bedroom, one bathroom condo. I agree, the views and location are great. Beds and mattresses are highly variable and guests all have different preferences- sorry this mattress did fit your sleep preference. Thanks again and we look forward to having you join us at Cascade Village again in the future. Rhonda

A great get away from busyness!

  • 5 of 5

It was a peaceful time away from a busy life! Stunning views right out the sliding glass doors onto the deck were enjoyed and sunsets were marvelous. The place was well appointed and we had a great time hiking right from the unit. You will want to bring some groceries as the small market nearby is not adequate. We LOVED being more secluded and not in the midst of a busy resort or mountain town. Cascade Village is pretty close to the highway (550) so you'll have some road noise. If we decide to head back this way, we would not hesitate to book this unit again!

Peaceful getaway

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the amazing scenery surrounding this place! We took advantage of the summer activities at Purgatory Ski Resort as well as hikes, horseback riding, the Bar D Ranch and good shopping in old town Durango. The condo is well equipped and comfy.

Good upkept condo in a beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

The condo was very nice for our stay. The condo is older, but is kept up with updates and cleanliness. Nice huge bathroom and my daughter enjoyed the jetted tub. The owner has a very nice selection of coffee for renters to use which was a treat! The owner also had a lot of info about the area and how to get to fishing and hiking spots and also restaurants(the schoolhouse pizza place pizza was awesome).

Pool and hot tub inside was good the outside hot tubs burned your skin, so hopefully they have that fixed, I'm sure, by now.

The view from the condo balcony and just the whole area is beautiful. We would come back, my only con about the whole place was a very uncomfortable bed in the bedroom, might have to switch to the foam pullout couch next time!!

Thank you Rhonda for sharing your place with us you made our stay very enjoyable!!

Beautiful Mountain Views

  • 4 of 5

The condo was very nice, just as described. Directions to it were very easy. It was clean and had all the essentials needed for the week - Towels both for bathing and for the pool, kitchen utensils, pots and pans, dish/dishwasher soap, etc. The shower head could use replacing and the toilet made some dripping noises when it refilled after flushing. The balcony off the condo could use a paint job, but I'm sure they take a beating every winter and it's hard to keep up with them. The view from the condo was spectacular. While we were still driving in New Mexico, we kept saying "wouldn't it be neat if our condo was right across from those snow-covered mountains?" And sure enough that's where we landed. The views in the area were breath-taking. We didn't see any wild-life directly on the property except for birds. But driving back from Silverton to the condo on Hwy 550, we came across 7 mountain sheep right at the road. We took some fabulous pictures. It was like they were posing for us. Disappointed with some of the traffic on the highway that kept honking their horns to try to scare them away. The mountain waterfalls were breathtaking. We came back with many pictures and many memories, and a promise to come back to the area in the next few years. We would definitely recommend this place to family and friends headed that direction.
