About the property

4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms with almost 2,000 sqft of room. Sleeps 10 people

This home feature all the old charm of Historic Galveston. It has 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom and is tastefully upgraded and decorated but it still keeps it's charm of 1916, the year the home was built. It even has it's original wood floors. The home features second floor balconies and large outdoor space, including a fully fenced in back yard. Everything is included in this home. Bring the family and let the fun begin!

A Charcoal BBQ is also provided. The deck has a very nice outdoor dining table and extra chairs for seating for Beautiful Al Fresco dining!! Please bring your own, soap, shampoo, toiletries, toilet tissue, paper towels, trash bags, cleaning supplies, aluminum foil, Ziploc bags, condiments, sunscreen, first aid, charcoal, lighter fluid, and insect repellent.

Property protection fee: $59. Long-term rentals (in excess of 12 nights) will require a larger deposit and be subject to additional terms and conditions. Any damages, excessive cleaning charges, or late departure fees not covered by traveler protection policy will be your responsibility. Payment is required 30 days prior to arrival. The traveler protection policy does not limit your liability. More overnight guests than the maximum of 10 will be cause for eviction and loss of all payments. ***Cancellation: A full refund will be given if reservations are canceled 30 days or more before the arrival date. If cancellation is less than 30 days, the fee is forfeited.

There is also a 'Cleaning Fee' of $135 in addition to rental and property protection fee of $59 with protection coverage up to $1500.00. There is a fee of $50.00 per small pet.

Keys, Reservations, Payment and Rules: Keys, Reservations and Payment:: **Keys: Arrival- Keys will be in lock box on location. (Owners will advise of code). Keys will not be issued if signed Rental Agreement, payment protection fee and rental fees have not been received. We will either call or email you with the combination to the lock box prior to your arrival. Keys: Departure- Return all keys to the lock box after locking all doors and windows. $75 fee for keys lost or not returned to lockbox.

Rules and Rental Policy:: We only rent to families or adults with a responsible attitude. Absolutely no graduation, prom, fraternity or sorority groups. Do not bring your pets unless pet deposit has been made prior to stay. Do not leave trash in the house. Garbage is picked up Wednesday mornings.Tenant is required to dispose of any and all garbage in designated garbage container upon checkout. You must leave the house in the same condition you found it when you arrived. Please remember that this is our own beach house also!

Garbage day is Wednesday. Please put the cans out facing the street in front of the house on Tuesday night.

We have several vacation homes on the TX Gulf Coast. We love to vacation in Galveston. The house has been remodeled with tasteful beach furnishings. This will be the first time it has been featured as a beach rental. We do own two others on the coast that have been on the rental program for years.

We decided to buy in the city of Galveston. There is so much to do and we found ourselves always in Galveston enjoying everything it has to offer.

What makes this house unique

This home is short walk of 4 blocks to the beach and a few more to the new Pleasure Pier. Restaurants are located walking distance from the home. One of our favorite restaurants is Queens BBQ and it is 2 blocks to the house. The have the best Peach Cobbler.

Vintage Charm with Perfect Location

The house is 2 blocks from the beach and was a perfect location for our 4th of July vacation. We parked our cars and brought our bikes. We did not have to deal with parking or driving the whole time we were there. We were super close to everything so we biked everywhere. The house is beautiful and just like the pictures. It is an older refurbished vintage home so it has all of that historical charm with the comfort of modern amenities. The owner, Michelle, was a joy to work with and goes out of her way to make your stay enjoyable. I would recommend this home to anyone thinking of staying on Galveston. I know my family would love to stay there again.

Enough Space for 2 Families

We spent a long weekend here with another family - 4 adults, 3 kids and 1 dog in total. I was pleased that there was enough space for all of us to be comfortable and not always have to be together. The dining room table is huge which was really nice for a crowd. Ample seating in the living room. And the location relative to the Seawall is awesome! The kitchen is well stocked with plates, cups, cooking utensils, etc. Washer and dryer are both in good condition which is really helpful when you mix kids and the beach.

The owner, Michelle, was very attentive. We didn't have hot water our first night as the hurricane had flooded out the pilot light on the hot water heater. But she had it fixed within an hour of us letting her know.

One note is that the parking is street parking - room for 2 vehicles (an SUV and full-size truck in our case).

As for cons, know that there are stickers in the grass so definitely wear shoes (and check paws of any pets). A couple doors don't latch normally but use eyehole hooks instead. This is fine for privacy but not ideal for keeping sound away from sleeping kiddos. And finally, the internet was a bit inconsistent. Fine for doing whatever on a tablet but hit or miss for trying to stream movies.

Overall we were pleased and would consider this house for our next trip to Galveston.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I am however disappointed that you would fault the house for street parking, stickers in the grass and the hot water heater pilot light. That was due to a natural disaster that occurred. I had that fixed in less than an hour after you called me to tell me. The house does have eye hooks and yes not all doors are tight unless its a day without humidity and when you are at the beach surrounded by water, humidity is a constant thing. The house is over 100 years old and those kinds of things can happen. The doors can be fastened securely with the eye hooks.

Spacious house with great location

House was very clean and nice. Close enough to walk to beach and restaurants. Living and dining area are very large. Outside balcony and patio are awesome! Only downside was master shower is a claw foot tub with a shower curtain around it. Hard to shower with curtain always sticking to you. Also, no locks on any of the 3 bathrooms.

We have tried to keep everything we could during the remodel that was original. This house is truly a galveston historic gem. The door knobs are original glass knobs. The property manager has installed hook and eye locks. I'm sorry you felt those older historic items were enough to not give this house a 5 star review.

Nothing I can do about technology. You could always call Xfinity and let them know about the difficulties you had when trying to operate the TV remote. We do leave the manual for remote operation in the table next to the TV.

This home is in the heart of Galveston. Just a short 4 block walk to the Gulf of Mexico and a few blocks to the new Pleasure Pier. Restaurants/ Bars within walking distance of the home. Historic Galveston has so much to offer. While in Galveston, you can enjoy Schlitterbahn water park, Moody Gardens, Shopping on the Strand, fabulous restaurants, putt putt golf, movie theater, bike rentals and the new Pleasure Pier. There is so much to do in Galveston, TX Great restaurants just 2 blocks from home, Queens BBQ and also Brick House Tavern and Grill.
